Sheila, whatever you do you mustn't blame yourself, you have NOT let Charlie down, you are a great parront! Sometimes unfortunately it is just the case that AG's pluck, they are skittish by nature. I do feel that with Charlie it is just a process of elimination be that allergy or psycological, something somehow is bothering him. It is probably something quite simple that you have taken no notice of. Isn't this what my problem with Argyle turned out to be in the end?? I was pulling my hair out too. I hope you get some answers from the specialist Sheila but continue to search your mind for something in your household or routine or even Cracker that has caused this unease with him. I wish you luck.

Britain I believe Jan, Britain = Scotland, England, Wales & Northern IRELAND. Actually Jan I wasn't aware that St Patrick's day was so popular in the US but then again there are lots of Irish Americans so I guess I should've known.

Ugh that is disgusting! I once saw a programme on tv about in some parts (prob. tribal/poor/third world) of the world it is considered that the fatter a woman is, the more beautiful she is considered. I think I'd rather be considered ugly ;-)

All this talk about St Patrick's day, pah it's only for the Irish ;-) Much more important is Friday April 23rd. There is a big campaign brewing in England, on facebook & elsewhere to make this a bank holiday (we have the least bank holidays than anyone else in europe and our government is afraid of upsetting the minorities in this country) so Janet ;-) to prove you aren't taking sides can I expect to see a St. George's day quiz? Anyway, I'm off to sign my facebook petition :laugh:

Oh come on Janet, how about yours? You in Washington? I think we all know about the famous whitehouse but what else is worth a visit? As for me, well down here in the south west of England we have miles upon miles of beautiful rugged coastline and faboulous beaches. Dartmoor, Exemoor and Bodmin moor, some of these depicted in famous stories such as sherlock holmes and wuthering heights - most recently the tea party scene in the latest Alice in Wonderland movie was filmed here. Plymouth Hoe (our seafront) is famous for being the scene where sir Frances Drake insisted on finishing his game of bowls after spotting the Spanish Armada on the horizon. These days it is the site of a large war memorial as Plymouth was devistated during WW2 due to our large naval docks.
