  1. Welcome to our family Flynn & Nala. I look forward to hearing all the latest gossip from your household - hopefully with added pictures for effect lol.
  2. What an adorable baby you have there mrjayd!
  3. zzzelama, I know which programme you are refering too, I've seen it too and it's been repeated a few times. That woman is a true mad bird woman if ever there was one but she didn't clean up after them did she LOL Maggie, I had no idea you and Jay had THAT MANY birds - I knew you had a few but...! I am in awe of what you do. You have a place in heaven for sure ;-)
  4. I hope Teal'c is found real soon and returned to his owner.
  5. I know what you mean, they seem to take to the ones that do the least for them, that's life I guess but Judy is right he will get over it and for sure will be back to making that other noise tomorrow morning....sorry about that lol.
  6. Didn't you hear him saying "hello" Jude? He has a very sweet voice, very female sounding.
  7. ..and my 1st attempt so please be kind and forgiving lol.
  8. LOL funny you should mention that, hubby was just last night saying how easy it would be to strangle Beau - as he had his thumb and third finger wrapped firmly around his neck. Beau just sat there with a stupid soft look on his face lol ;-)

    Hey!

    Happy Birthday JJsHoney
  10. LOL hillarious. Gotta love Issac!
  11. Woohoo! I'm excited too and I remember that feeling so well. Those early days with your sweet baby are pure magic and I can't wait to read more about him/her. If I were you I'd go for the more unusual names, for instance names that have nice meanings in other languages these can be used for both male or female. Also I do like the name "Casey"
  12. Awww Emma has your voice, it's sometimes difficult to determine when it is her and when it is you talking lol. You know, there are some greys on this forum that I love like they were one of my own because of the power of the vids, pics and posts (in one case) and Emma is one of them, Spock is another. Kokomo by the beach boys is a particular favourite of mine. Emma has certainly got the "Aruba" mastered.
  13. Hi and welcome to the forum. You are certainly doing things the right way around by doing your research before getting your grey, so many people don't know what they are letting themselves in for and dive in head first only to re-home their grey in due course. Look forward to the day you bring home your grey and your posts leading up to it.
  14. Welcome Samantha, I'm so pleased to know you and what a great mum you are in caring for your children and flock. Mai Tai is absolutely beautiful as are the others. Ozzie has certainly "landed on his feet" having you care for him, what a lucky chappie he is. I look forward to your posts and updates on present and future flock members ;-)
  15. Oh dear that is a lot of times, maybe you should've cured that cage squeak a while back lol. I guess the only things you can try are the things already suggested by yourself and others. They do seem to pick up those type of noises - such as sirens, smoke detectors, microwaves first. Beau does the smoke alarm quite often and that is LOUD and IRRITATING. I wouldn't have it any other way though, he is who he is. Maybe your hubby has acute hearing. Maybe you could try recording it and putting it on here so we can hear just how bad it is, just a thought.
  16. They do seem to love their cheese don't they lol. So glad Josey enjoyed her special day and was spoiled Jude xx
  17. I think it's a case of try it and see how it goes. I know someone who's grey had one and he was so unhappy he stopped eating and was generally subdued, the parrot had to be returned to the vet for the collar to come off, cream was used instead. This doesn't mean that your grey won't tollerate it though, some just accept it better than others.
  18. My "get rid of the husband" comment was made in jest - well at least partially. Forgive me but as others have touched on, you get a parrot and you expect it to behave like one. I feel your husband (although he obviously finds this particular noise irritating) has been less than patient and now you talk of timescales! Anyway, I hope you "cure" the problem and everything turns out ok.
  19. That is so sad Janet, how could anyone hit such a small creature..
  20. Great pictures Lyn, I love bluebells. Is there no end to your talents? Singing, photography...
  21. You would think it great that they can remember something from so long ago but some things are best forgotton. Parrots are humanlike in so many ways, again not always a good thing. I've always known they have long memories because they take so long to trust again after bad experiences from previous owners, so sad. Lyn is right we seem to have had a spate of new posters seemingly regretting the purchase of a parrot, unfortunately for some it isn't just confined to birds/animals, people don't seem to take responsibility for any living thing including their own children, they go ahead and have a baby and then offload it or neglect it. It's all too familliar.
  22. Happy hatchday Josey! Just you wait till mom gets home, I'm sure there will be loads of fun in store!
  23. Thanks for this explaination Dave. Beau seems to have a lighter beak than many CAGs and replies to this post has had me questioning if this is normal (I thought it was, hence my reply to the original question) anyway Beau is a bit of a beak rubber so that does figure. Thanks again Dave
  24. Still very hot here in the SW, 27 - 30 degrees (80-86f) both of mine are again in the garden today, Argyle is squaking at the neighbours and Beau has a close encounter with the cat from the other neighbour! I cared him off - the cat that is not Beau lol. They do love being outside don't they, it's just a pity we can't put them out more often. Thanks for sharing Murphy's outdoor adventure with us
