Well i am finally done well 99% done. It has been tough i did something to my elbow and shoulder and so i am only able to do a little at a time. Therapy has been great i was not a believer but now i am. Two weeks ago i could not lift my arm and now i am back to normal again. Well anyway enough of that here is my newly decorated room. I got rid of the jungle theme and its all just plain and clean looking. Lots of pink. Did the ceiling and new drapes and just going to hang a little toys not as much as before. This is my latest creation and i am actually really quiet proud of myself for coming up with it. I have been trying to get back in the swing by making a couple of toys for you all to see. I have been struggling with one arm. Been going for therapy and it seems to be helping now i have both hands again. I made this for my umbrella cockatoo.

Love the toys great job. Wiffle balls are sooo much fun.

Hi ya'all just wanted to stop by and say hello i no i have been gone for a while but i am back. Got lots of new toys that i made and am getting ready to show off my totally new remodeld bird room. Hope you all will stop by and check out my pictures soon.

Just be patient once they start talking you might be praying for peace and quiet. There are days where i will say Owen please please just stop talking. The worst is when he thinks he is in charge. He will discipline the other birds and sound like me. He will also do one of there bad behaviour screams or something and then as i walk in the room he will start telling the bird in trouble how bad he is or how he needs to stop. But after all said and done i would not want it any other way i love my Owen although sometimes it would be nice if he could just not talk. Food is always a good way to get peace with this breed so just in case you need it later make a note of this.

All my birds which i probably hand fed about 400 babies in my time would speak by the time they were weaned. At least they would be saying mama or hello or something. In the begining it sounds like a little kid it will be hard to really understand like if a stranger came to visit and the bird said something you would not what he said but they might ask what did he say. My birds are now between 4 and 8 years old and they all talk like a human voice. It is clear and anyone that comes to the house knows exactly what they are saying. Owen has been talking for years this was just something new and he has not exactly said anything new in a while. Hope this helps. Also depends how much time you spend with them i am home every single day so i am with them all the time. If you are not able to leave a radio or tv on. They love the kids stuff disney movies etc also.

So my amazon has a couple of new words yesterday. I just cracked up laughing. I had him in the kitchen with ne while doing dishes. I walked away and came back into the kitchen and he goes "Hello my baby are you okay my baby" The worst part was the accent. Dont know where that came from but it sure made my day.

Now this has got to be the most amazing idea i have seen in a very long time. How absolutely amazing. And the idea of the scarf thing how perfect. Really really neat. You need to come to my house just think how creative we can get. hahahhahaha:laugh:

How fun i have always wanted a caravan and now that i am stuck with birds what a wonderful idea. I decided never to board my birds since i did once and almost some of them. They are just too damn spoiled cannot live without mommy for a week or a day. Great pictures.

How true about those amazons it is always about the next meal. And then of being the center of everything else. Look at me i am better i am the best i can do it better dont pay attention to him my colors are better and so it goes all day. My amazon makes my green wing macaws life hell. He is always getting him in trouble and can you believe when i walk in the room he starts yelling before i can say anything to correct the macaw of what he supposively just did wrong. Those amazons are pure trouble i tell you.:evil:

Hi Julie funny thing i am just now reading your post and i am in the same boat. My macaw keeps pinching me and it is really painful after a while. I am getting sick of being bruised all over. Hopefully this to shall pass right? I dont have any advice other than i feel your pain.

You know you can give her ginger root fresh grated for car sickness. I have a friend who told me about this and she had this problem with her grey. Since she tried this she does not have that problem anymore. Good luck hope it works beautiful bird.

Thanks you all. I dont have much else to do so i keep myself occupied by doing this. Materials was homedepotfor the pvc, hobby lobby craft store for the bamboo. Wiffle balls the good old Dollar Store my beads were online and the cotton rope was from the feed store and also the vet wrap. Originally i made a bamboo gym for my green wing macaw but he split the bamboo in no time so i re-cycled it and made it for the smaller birds. Hope this helps. Lets see you all make them maybe a little different in design or whatever. Competition is on.:laugh:

That is just adorable love it. And the ball is great. Did you add the plexi to the top of your cage? That is such a great idea. I had to remove the tray from my cage because it was just too dark with it in place. Now i have poop everywhere. Love that idea. Caiques are just the coolest little birds.
