  1. Hi, welcome to the forum! Great pictures of Charlie as a baby. I have a 6month old baby CAG and I am really going to miss these baby days so I know what you mean. Does Charlie talk? I look forward to hearing more about you and Charlie.
  2. AWW! She does love you, what a sweetie. {Love-0002011E}
  3. Hi Vanessa, welcome to the forum! Great introduction. I really like your siggy! You animals are beautiful. I bet you have so much fun with them. I am a huge cat lover and bird lover myself, I have two cats and a 6month old Congo grey. Do the birds get along with eachother ok? And the cats do they bother them? I hope to hear more from you and can't wait to see some more pics. Enjoy the site. <br><br>Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/07/22 18:24
  4. Well thats good, atleast she calmed down a little. Ecko does that too. He won't poop in his cage so everytime I take him out I know he has to go poop so I lay down newspaper and say go poop a couple times and he always wiggles his butt and goes. I do this every single time he comes out of the cage because I am sick of trying to get his poop stains out of the carpet lol. Why don't you put her on a perch with newspaper under it to go poop before you put her on the chair or couch.
  5. Hahaha awww that picture with the sun on his back is soooo cute!! I love it! I'm suprised Spock tolerates that, it looks like the sun is holding onto his feathers so tight LOL! Thanks for sharing Jay and Maggie, very cute.
  6. Haha Zel did not want her nap! Does she still freak out in her cage?

  9. If he/she is starting to pick at things on the ground then thats a sign to start introducing solids. Every grey is different so its not like there is a time set on when you can introduce foods to him. My breeder started introducing solids to him at 6 1/2 weeks because he started picking at things. She said pine nuts where the first thing that he ate and loved. His favorite treat now is still pine nuts lol. When I brought him home at 8 weeks old he was eating his seed/pellet mix and some cooked veggies. Even though he didn't eat a lot of it I still put a dish in there for him to pick at. Have you tried cheerios yet? Put a couple of cheerios in there for him, see if he can eat them. Good luck! Let us know how it goes. <br><br>Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/07/22 16:15
  10. :angry: :pinch: :blink: :angry: Are you KIDDING me?!?!? tkilgour wrote: IF you don't have time for those poor dogs how in the WORLD are you going to have time for an AFRICAN GREY!!?? Do you know how much love and attention they NEED?!?! Whats your rush huh? Why do you NEED an AG soon?! What do you plan on doing with it?? I honestly don't think this is the place to trade an African grey for two dogs. This is a forum with proud owners of African greys who love their birds dearly and I HIGHLY doubt anyone would trade them for anything.
  11. Happy Birthday Janet!!! I'm glad you enjoyed your day.
  12. I also like the name Zuri! That was one of my choices when I was searching for names. I had a list of a bunch of african names and some musical names, I had a lot of favorites and just couldn't decide. When I brought him home he dropped a toy and I said "uh-oh Ecko" and the name just fit so thats how I decided lol. I wanted the spelling to be unique so thats why there is a K instead of an H. <br><br>Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/07/22 15:39
  13. Hi Morgan, welcome to the forum! Maggie sounds like a little cutie. Can't wait to see some pictures of her.
  14. I am so sorry greymom! I hope you find Rita, just don't give up, always search for her! My thoughts are with you.
  15. Aww thanks Cristen, I'm glad you liked it.
  16. WOW! Those are huge differences. I wish I could get some palm nuts.
  17. Oh I am so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Gracie the lovebird.
  18. http://www.motherpluckinbirdtoys.com/atomsNswings/largeatom.htm I don't have an atom but I've heard most people say that the large is big enough for greys. I've heard many great things about the atom BUT I honestly think the atom it is wayyy too expensive, $135 is a ridiculous price for one bird toy! I bought 3 different swings for $25 each so it cost me a total of $75 instead of a whopping $135! That gives you $60 extra to buy more toys for your baby and you have 3 swings instead of one. Ecko loves all of his swings so much and I know he doesn't care if its the cheaper ones. Heres the 3 swings. He plays on all of the every day for atleast 45mins a day. P.S. I got them on eBay, they are very cheap and lots of fun for my bird. Good luck on your search Bonnie.<br><br>Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/07/21 22:11

  20. It all depends, anything could happen where you would need some blood work and I agree its the most expensive thing!! When I took Ecko to his well check for the basics like gram stain, culture and sensitivity test and something else I forgot, it cost $200. We went for a follow up and that cost $100. They gave me a price quote for some blood tests they do on common diseases and it was about $250-$350!! I am sure every vet has different prices but let me tell you they are expensive! So be prepared! http://avianbiotech.com/Links_Vets.htm Heres a link to search for vets in your area. It would be best to call them and ask yourself the prices of vet checks on birds.
  21. Welcome to the forum Chip! Those were great videos of Pablo and Tika! Have you always had them in the same cage? Did they always get along with eachother? I hope to hear more from you and your flock. Enjoy this wonderful forum.
