2. Awwww what a cute kitten!! I'm glad Adanna is doing good with her. She is so adorable. Thanks for sharing.
3. Hi buster, like Judy said I think the plastic yogurt cups would be ok for him to tear up. Why don't you try to make a toy out of the yogurt cups if he likes them so much, like drill holes at the bottom of the cups, put a rope or leather string through it, and tie some knots and add more cups on, do you get what I saying? lol. Or you could make a toy out of straws, maybe he would like to chew up the straws too. Have you tried foraging toys to see if he would play with it? I hope to hear more from you and Buster in the welcome room.
4. Are you still having trouble with the photos? Maybe you can email them to me and I will post them for you, just send me a PM if you need help.
5. When you have Beau out of the cage does he play with foot toys or anything? Have you tried a foraging toy? Ecko plays with his toys a lot. His favorite is definitely the foraging toys, he has 2 of them, one that I fill with food and another that is filled with foot toys. The one that has foot toys in it was one of those wicker balls and he went crazy for it, he tore that toy to pieces, now I have to go find another one lol. Sometimes I watch him in his cage and he will go from one toy to the next until he has touched all of the toys in there and then will go perch and preen himself. Maybe Beau plays with them when your not there?
6. Hey shazbaby, is the cage divided with bars or glass?? As long as they can't touch each other through the divider I would think that would be ok (just my opinion, I'm no expert.) But if it is bars that divide it then they would be able to get each others toes and I don't think that would be a pretty scene. Hopefully others with chime in and give their opinion. Good luck, I bet you are sooo excited to bring home your baby!
7. Another HOT HOT HOT day today, its 91 degrees here. There was just an afternoon shower and it seems like it made it even hotter! AHHH someone give me a pool to jump in haha. {Feel-bad-000200A3}

Oh yes they looooove spicy foods! The first time I gave him something spicy(I didn't know he ate it yet) I kissed his beak and boy did that burn my lips! LOL! And yes grocery shopping should be very fun. Now when we go grocery shopping, 75% of it is for Ecko and the rest 25% is for us haha! Very spoiled bird. You are going to have so much fun with Taco.

Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/07/06 17:35

10. Hi Lauren and Taco, welcome to the forum! When is Taco's hatch date? I also have a 5 month old baby named Ecko, his hatch date is 2/2/09, they are probably very close in age. Have you been giving him fresh fruits and veggies yet? Veggies should be his main diet. I make Ecko a veggie mix every morning and night, which consists of brocolli, peas, carrots, beans, rice, squash, green beans, etc. The greener the better for them. I give him fruits every other day because they are high in sugars, luckily he likes veggies more than fruits, but his favorite fruits are raspberries, blueberries and strawberries. He also always has his pellet, nut and seed mix out at all times so he can munch on that when he gets hungry. So Taco is loud? Ecko is a very quiet grey but sometimes he gets really chatty and makes all kinds of cool noises. He already says his name too so its really exciting to hear it. Does he mimic things yet? Thats great that Taco gets to be with you all day while you work, sounds like you guys are going to be great friends. Anyways, I look forward to hearing more about you and Taco. If you have any pictures of him we would love to see him. Enjoy the site.

Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/07/06 17:20
11. AWWWW Ernzz what a cute baby you have there! They are so precious at that age. Congrats!
12. Thats a great video of Jacko. I like those sounds that he does, that is very cool. And the coughing too, its amazing what they can mimic, it sounds so real. Thanks for sharing a video of Jacko with us.
13. I swear my bird must have ADHD because he is so hyperactive during the day and doesn't seem to get tired until 9:30 at night. LOL Your not the only one Jill, sometimes I wish he would stay still and nap for just a little while, haha. He's like the energizer bunny. :laugh:
14. Hi Loukas, congrats on your new baby! Apollo is a great name. It sounds like he is adjusting to your home very well. Beak grinding is a sign of feeling relaxed and content. They usually stand on one foot when they are sleeping or getting sleepy. Usually when my baby gets sleepy like that he will lift his foot up and start getting chatty and nod off, lol its cute. Has your baby started making any noises? It sounds like your baby is fledging too, you should definitely let him fledge and learn how to fly before clipping him. Have you decided if you are going to bring him back to get him clipped yet? Don't do it because the breeder said you HAVE to get him clipped, its really not his choice, its YOURS! I really hope you decide not to get him clipped but either way its your choice and not ours. Anyways I hope to hear more about you and Apollo and maybe see some pictures of him when you get a chance. Enjoy the site.

Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/07/06 16:10

16. Aww thats so sweet of you Cristen! You are doing a great thing. My mom found a little baby mockingbird around the same age as yours and she fed it until it was big enough to go to the rescue near us. That is horrible that the rescue near you wouldn't do anything for those little birds, who cares if its a pest, its still an animal that needs help isn't that what they are suppose to do? At least that little baby has you, good for you Cristen.
17. Aww Dayo is such a good talker! He sounds just like you Dan, that is soo cute!
18. AWWW!! that baby is so darn cute.

22. Well I am both! I am that crazy bird lady and that crazy cat lady and PROUD of it! I don't care what people think about me. I can't imagine living without them. Some people will never understand.
23. Welcome to the forum Mark! So glad you finally decided to post, I've seen you lurking around here a couple of times lol. Congrats on finding a grey.
