Hello Diane and welcome to the forum! Congrats on your new baby! What a wonderful mothers day gift, that is so sweet of your hubby. I'm sorry to hear about your Amazon though, that is so sad I bet it was so hard to lose him after 30 years, wow I just couldn't even imagine. But yes these bird are very active little babies. I have a very hyperactive baby myself. He loves to fly all over the place and get into all kinds of trouble! I wouldn't worry too much about the baby getting stuck in the cage, they have to learn how to climb somehow. The best way is to ignore it and have him learn himself. It is very nerve racking to watch, I was paranoid about that too but they eventually get the hang of it. Anyways its nice to have you hear, I hope you enjoy the site. I hope to see some pictures of your baby too, we LOVE pics here.

I left the room for a second and when I came back I couldn't find Ecko. I was calling him, "Eckooo where are youuu," I heard him make a peep and this is where I found him.. in the fruit basket hahaha at least there was no fruit in there. So I tell him, "no Ecko you can't be in the fruit basket" and tried to reach in(I'm short) to get him out.. he would NOT budge! So I turned it upside and he wanted to hang there. haha I thought it was funny so I snapped a couple pics. SILLY DEVIL BIRD :evil:

Aww thats wonderful that Dusty is doing so well. But we aren't that ones who made Dusty the bird he is today, you and your wife are the ones who made Dusty the bird he is! You should be proud of yourselves for being such great parronts. WOW! What a gorgeous bird Bonnie. Those beaks are soooo scary looking. My breeder had one as a pet and he was the sweetest thing, he tried to get me to hold him I took a look at that beak and I was like, noooo wayyy! haha, they are very intimidating.

I really hope this baby hatches for you Renate! I am sending best vibes all the way to Greece. I really wouldn't take your chances with the petstore you got Alex from. That was just horrible and I know you wouldn't want to go through that again. If this doesn't work out for you then maybe search for a reliable petstore that has good references or another breeder that has good references. I wouldn't rush into getting a bird right away, just be patient and you will soon find your companion. There is still hope for this egg to hatch so I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I know how bad you want a parrot but make sure you get the one you really want. Good luck Renate! I am hoping for the best.

Yes she does have quite the self confidence. Idk if its because Ecko is just a baby but he seems to be the same way. Compared to Slater, Ecko is a lot more confident, outgoing, and playful than him.
