Aww how sweet! It sounds like a sign of respect to me. When I go to my moms house with Ecko he always flies over to Slater to greet him and puts his head down as if saying, "can you preen me?" :laugh: Slater usually just puts his head down like "no you preen me!" haha.

Hello Diana and Johan!! Welcome to the forum, that was a great introduction. It sounds like you are really doing your research and that is wonderful! So have you already picked out a CAG from a breeder? If so, how old is it? Thats awesome that you make your own toys, if you want to share some ideas in the "Homemade Toys and playstands" room that would be awesome, I love to make toys and get more ideas. Anyways, I hope to hear more from you and Johan and hear about your new CAG. We love pictures around here so if and when you get some we would love to see. I hope you enjoy the site, ask as many questions as you like.

Haha OH YES! Ecko has found many things around my apt to make a perch out of it. I realized he likes to be in the highest places. The cabinet doors. The fruit basket. The light (which I always get him off of it) And his obsession, THE FAN! LOL Great pictures of Rikki, Melissa! It looks like she is having a blast.

Lindsey, both of those cages would be great for your new grey. They are huge! I like the one with the playtop the best. Your baby TAG would have so much fun on it. YummYumm, the first cage you showed wouldn't be good for a grey. The bars are very small and I think a grey would have a hard time climbing around it and their talons could get stuck. The second one is much better for a grey.

OMG Steph how horrible!! I can't believe this has happened to you AGAIN!!!! I am sooo sorry that you have to go through this pain all over again. It makes me so upset! It has to be the breeders fault! This is the 2nd bird that died from the same breeder! Have you talked to the breeder about this? Did you get your money back?! AWWW I am soo sorry Steph.

Hi Terri, welcome to the forum! Have long have you had Mater? I also have a 6 month old CAG named Ecko, his hatch date is 2-2-09, whats Maters HD?. About the night frights, was this the first time he did this? Did you add something new to Maters cage that caused him to get scared? After you calmed him down was he ok to go back in? Anyways, I hope to hear more from you and Mater. Can't wait to see some pics of him and the crew soon, we love pics around here.

Oh yes, I think its totally worth it. Ebay has the same name brand cages as other websites do. Some are cheaper too. Just make sure that the seller has 100% feedback and good comments from previous customers. I don't see anything wrong with ebay, I haven't ordered a cage from there but I do order a lot of bird toys and swings and I am always satisfied with them. Hi Lindsey, welcome to the forum! Congrats on getting a baby TAG. Harley is a great name if thats what you decide on. I am also a huge animal lover myself and grew up with a lot of animals. Thats pretty cool that you compete with horses, they are such amazing animals. Congrats on your baby girl!! I like the name Kya! Good luck on deciding on a name.

I would recommend giving him cooked veggies, like brocolli, peas, carrots, green beans, peppers, lima beans, cooked beans etc. The greener the better for him. Chop them up in small pieces so he can eat them better. Also have you tried giving him cheerios to munch on? Pine nuts were a big favorite for Ecko at that age too because they are so easy to break up and eat, they are still his favorite treat. Do you have a scale to weigh him everyday? Is he keeping his weight up?

This is normal weaning behavior. It sounds to me that he is refusing the formula so it will soon be time to drop one of those feedings. How much is he eating at a time? Only the 9 mls for each feeding or just one of the feedings? I would see which feeding he is eating the least of, whether its morning, lunchtime, or night and drop that one. When I was weaning my baby he started to refuse his lunchtime feeding and would only eat 10 mls instead of 40 mls so I stopped giving it to him. I weighed him every morning after I dropped it to make sure he wasn't losing any weight. He was 8 1/2 weeks old when I started feeding him 2 feedings a day. He was also eating his pellet/seed mix and some cooked veggies. Is your baby eating anything else other than the Kaytee exact diet?
