  1. Yea I think both sizes would be good for your TAG. My grey loves his swings. He has 3 swings throughout the house and he plays on all of them everyday.

  5. Hello Plink! Welcome to the forum, great introduction. Congrats on getting a baby TAG. Have you decided on any names yet? Did you take any pics when you went to visit him/her? Thats great that your close enough to visit him/her. I know the wait seems soo long but it is so worth it in the end. Feel free to ask as many questions as you want. I look forward to hearing more about you and your new TAG.

  7. Welcome to the forum Gao! Awww what a lovely little TAG you have there. She is too cute! What are you going to name her? Has she been DNA'd? I hope to hear more from you and your new TAG.
  8. It worked, it worked, yayy! I haven't seen a picture of Harvey in awhile so thanks for sharing. He is a very handsome boy and wow look at the toy! Its huge and looks like a lot of fun! Great picture, I love it!
  9. Thats great that he liked the oatmeal! Do you have red palm oil? You can always put a couple of drops of that in there too, its good for them. When you put him in his cage put him right where the food bowl is. They don't starve themselves so he will eventually go looking for food when he gets hungry. He is settling in right now and is probably a little nervous in his new home. Give him some time and watch him to see if he eats. Keep showing him where it is.<br><br>Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/08/04 18:29
  10. Oh Star won't step up to you? What is he doing, biting you? He is still getting use to you, its only been 4 days you gotta give a lot more time, it can take months for them to really feel at home. He is also probably very scared from the crash, he might also be blaming you for it but he should get over it. Ecko never gives me problems about stepping up, especially from his cage. He is always anxious to get out of his cage, he always flies around when he first gets out. When he first flew it was only a couple of feet but he would practice a lot to get better. He would hold onto the rug and flap flap flap. One day he let go and took off flying. He got better and better at it as the days went by.
  11. 1.) Have you showed him where his food bowl and water is? What were they feeding him at the pet store? Are you feeding him the same thing? Have you tried giving him cooked veggies? You can also try to give him oatmeal as a comfort food. Some greys like oatmeal like my CAG but some don't like it at all. 2.) Before you pick him up put your finger out by his feet and say step up over and over again so he gets use to those words. Show him what you mean by putting his feet on your finger. 3.) You can bathe him however you want to, just make sure to bathe him atleast 3 times a week. You can mist him with a spray bottle, or put him in the bath tub, or put him under the shower. Aloe vera juice is a good thing to have to spray him after a shower. It helps with itchy skin and feathers. You can purchase it by the gallon at Walmart in the pharmacy section. 4.) You don't need to stop him going to the top of the cage, how else will he learn how to climb. He will eventually get good at it but for now I would be towels at the bottom of the cage to make it softer in case he does fall. Good luck with Leto, he is a beautiful little grey, I love the picture. <br><br>Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/08/04 17:41
  12. Hello, welcome to the forum! Tell us more about you and your grey. Is it a TAG or a CAG? How old is he/she? What's his/her name? How long have you had him/her? LOL sorry for all the questions but we like to get to know new greys and their owners. Do you have any pictures to share? We love pictures here. Feel free to ask all the questions you have, the members here are always willing to help.
  13. Aw thats great Pat! It only took him one day to find out how much he really loves you. How sweet.
  14. Great pictures of Jim and Spock. Ecko does the same thing to Slater. That second picture is so funny, it looks like Jim is about to bite his head but Spock has his eyes closed like it feels good haha aw!
  15. I agree with Jane, there is no reason for you to clip his wings. He will learn how to fly very good. How old is he? Ecko is 6 months old and he can fly very good but he still doesn't fly perfect, he used to crash but now he hardly ever crashes. You should put stickers on the glass door so Star knows that something is there in case he does it again.
  16. HAHAHAHA!! Great story. That Spock sure is a character!
  17. Thank you all for the nice comments. We did have another basket for him but he chewed that one to pieces. So this is the 2nd one and for some reason he doesn't try to chew this one. There is something about this basket that he really likes because he is so gentle with it and thats not normal for him haha. Pat thats a great idea for Harley, I bet he will tear that basket up in no time with the big beak of his. :pinch:<br><br>Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/08/04 16:33

  19. AWWWWW! Ragga is SOOO cute! I want to take him home!! Those are great pictures! Thanks so much for sharing.
  20. It sounds like Houdini is adjusting to his new home very nicely, he sounds like my Ecko, he climbs all over everything. They are very curious little babies I tell ya lol. I had the same problem with Ecko about the veggies. He wouldn't eat much of them but he did eat a lot of his pellets/seed mix. I started to offer him more different things to see what he likes best. He hated his veggies cold so I always cooked them for him. I get the frozen veggie mix and found that he likes that the best because it has different kinds of veggies mixed.<br><br>Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/08/04 16:21
  21. Koko is a smart little birdy. Can I borrow Koko so she can teach my Ecko some manners? LOL. Thanks for sharing.
  22. Hello Kymberley and welcome to the forum! I am glad you made a post. Congrats on your baby grey Gismo. He is such a cutie as I see in your avatar picture. There are many threads in the Nursery room that can give you good information on handfeeding. I included the links to some of them, make sure to read the very first post of each link, there are very important things to know about handfeeding. Do you know about weaning a grey? How many times are you feeding Gismo a day? How much at each feeding? Gismo has to refuse the formula himself before you can take away a feeding. When you see him start picking at things on the ground then thats a sign to start putting solids foods like pellets in there for him to munch on. You can also give him some cooked veggies chopped up small so he can try it and start to like solid foods. Ecko, my CAG, was about 9 weeks old when he first started really eating the pellets, seeds, veggies etc. He wouldn't eat much of it at first but as the days went he would eat more and more. He was starting to refuse formula because he was getting full from the solid foods, so one by one I slowly dropped the formula feedings. He was weaned at 17 weeks old. Every grey is different and there isn't a set schedule when your grey is weaned. Anyways, if you have any questions feel free to ask. This is a great forum with a lot of very nice members. I hope to hear more from you and Gismo. Good luck Kymberly.
