  4. Oh so cute... I'm glad he is opening up so quickly...
  5. I hope you're gonna be reunited soon. Keep up the work & stay positive Paul. You are one of our flock and we will never let you go. I have a feeling we will celebrate soon...
  6. Thanks ... Im glad he is doing fine...keep us posted
  7. OK Great then, Im glad he sound healthy. Please update us tomorrow after the visit... hope all goes well
  8. Loved the playstand Dave...creative as usual...
  9. Welcome to our family that is growing by the day... how nice it is to know that another grey has found a forever family to love him and care for him. As everybody said, you have to discover his pace...open the door let him come out on his own, put the new cage somewhere close to him with food and some treats inside plus a favorite toy, let him move and explore on his own.... Have a greyt life together and enjoy...
  10. oh... welcome to greys world...thats the norm...any keyboard takes few minutes to be totally torn apart...tell me about it... I had to replace my laptop keys twice and my mobile phone keyboard (takes less than a minute to be completely distroyed) 4 times so far....
  11. Hi Marybeth and Gabby and welcome to our greyt family... Im so glad Gabby has found you and your family. He is a lucky fellow I guess. Im glad he can move around on his leg without pain. The vet will certainly give the right advice. Cant wait for the pix though, both his face and his leg to see how it looks. So his cage arrived? I hope he likes it. I think what you are doing is great, being patient and approaching him with care. Its gonna take patience and lots of love but Im sure its gonna be worth it. What does he eat? I hope he is on pellets and he does like fresh veggies. The vet will also give you the best advice concerning his diet. Keep us posted and let us know how he takes on to his new cage. All the best...
  12. He is just being a kid who is growing up and trying to assert his own personality. He is trying to stretch the limits and testing you to see what boundaries you made for him. Best way is to ignore his behavior when he does this and do not make a big deal out of it. Stand firmly and put him to his cage... he is just being himself I guess...
  13. Thanks chezron for sharing this link, it is very helpful. I keep coming back to this post hoping for some good news. Lets keep our fingers crossed and keep praying to have baby Murphy back with Paul soon.
  14. I hope he is doing better today, try some banana, it gives him energy. Try also the formula, even if you have to hand feed him. Eat infront of him and make sounds while you eat...it will arouse his curiosity to eat... kookie always eats more and better when we share a banana or an apple together than when he eats on his own...
  15. I dont really know, but his activity level should indicate if he feels alright or no. I am not sure about body temperature. Check his feet, warmer or colder than usual? Does he fluff his feathers and tend to sit in the corner and close his eyes... these are some of the signs of sickness. Also regurigation and poop status. You mentioned his poop looks like usual, keep watching for signs. Hopefully some more experienced members can post their opinion. Keep him warm and if he is showing the mentioned sickness signs, keep him rested in a quiet place and take him to the vet tomorrow. If he shows those signs, then better start him on treatment as early as possible. But I truely hope you see non of those signs. If he is active and playing, then I hope all is ok. Keep the updates...
  16. He looked so cute biting his nails, but kinda looked ancsious as well... he seems to love his net in the room... I loved the room and I hope one day I can have one like this at my place...you did a great job and with all those toys... I kinda understand that it will take them a while to get used to this place... but its like a parrot heaven to me...
  17. Now with 3 greys at my place, my neihobors started to call me the bird lady...lol
  18. try the local radio station if any, put posters near school gates with photos of Murphy. Kids talk a lot, they will spread the word around and they will help you by keeping an eye out for him... If there is any pet shop in the area, make sure they know, cos someone who might have found him, could try to buy a cage...I still feel positive about this, stay strong my friend
  19. Oh Paul! Im on my nerves all day hoping to hear some good news from you, and I am still postive. Dont loose your faith, so many people find their greys after many days. Im sure if you didnt find him, some one will, thats why you need to keep people around you informed. Hang some posters around in the next village or two. Those greys are smart and I hope he has stayed close to the area of your home, as most greys do. Keep looking my friend and dont loose hope. rest tonight and tomorrow is another day... hope we will hear some good news. keep the light on on your porch or balcony tonight, keep the cage out in the lit area with food and water, maybe he will come home.... Ill continue sending good thoughts toward you. Hope you find him soon
  20. Well I dont really know if this means infection but I really hope not. Just watch your baby carefully and I hope this will be nothing, keep him warm and comfortable and feed him more regularly in case he is not eating his full meal. It doesnt hurt to give him formula if he is not eating his pellets. Make sure he is drinking and pooping regularly as well. Please keep us updated on his condition
  21. Eva is so cute... I love the photo....thanks for sharing it
  22. I saw the video on youtube, its great...saw your birdroom as well... I loved it...Im so envious....and your birds are so lucky...
  23. He is a baby and babies are sensitive. You have to be careful not only with dust, but with everything you use around him. His immunity is not developed yet, it will take till after he is 1 year to develop a stronger immune system. All utensils you use for feeding him, all his toys , foodand water bowls should be regularly cleaned and disinfected if possible. I used to boil them to make sure they are germ free. Please be very careful and if he doesnt get better (the appetite & activity level) please dont hesitate to go to the vet asap. Those greys are very smart at hiding signs of illness. I've lost a baby grey once and for that Im very careful now. I hope there is nothing serious, but better to be careful. Please keep us posted on his condition.
