  1. I really feel with you. A grey is like a baby and once something goes wrong, we cannot but feel guilty. I hope you get down to the root of the problem and be able to solve it. Just think, did anything change in the last few days before this plucking started? her cage, something in the room is new, an airfreshener you are using, a plant in the room, some food causing her discomfort, a new toy??? Any change in her surrounding might be the cause, even something simple. I hope you find out soon. Post some photos please Thank you and keep us posted on Tui's condition
  2. Hi again, Well if you want her to eat healthy, you gotta keep trying. First I think you have to start her day with fresh veggies and fruits instead of the seeds. When shes hungry she will eat them. Keep the seeds for later in the day. Kookie starts with a large plate of veggis and fruits each morning (corn on the cob, chilis, ocra, snow peas, carrot, apples, grape, a slice of orange, a pce of rambootan....) with time you will figure up her favourits and its good to keep offering things even if she doesnt eat them at first, eventually one day she will try and you dont know, maybe she will like them I keep all day a bowl of pellets ( I hope you have pellets, if not can you get some from UAE?) and a fresh bowl of water. I remove the veggis leftovers around noon time, and put a new plate for the afternoon. Evening he gets some seeds, either if we are trainig or late vening at sleep time. He gets some peanuts and almonds during the day. Also some times we share a mango, a banana, a carrot, or even some peanut butter. Kookie always prefers to eat out of my hand, but also he eats well on his own. Greys like attention, but they will eat alone when they are hungry, so dont worry. She is acting like a child, who tries to get your attention, she is still very young, I could notice by the grey color of her eyes in the photos you posted, so its normal that she does this for your attention. Also I wanted to ask if you have any toys in her cage, it will make her enjoy the cage time and have things to play with. Kookie loves cage time, he is eaith playing all the time with his toys, or he takes naps during the days... Also toys help them develop their independence, so they can have fun on their own without having you there all the time good luck and God Bless you for what you are doing Rana
  3. Its a very good idea I have a small sleeping cage that I use for Kookie whenever I have guests or Im staying up late and it works fine, cos greys need to get around 12 hours of sleep. The good sleep maintains their health. Concerning the sleep time, I know that greys like routine and a schedule. Try to put her to sleep daily on a certain time, use some specific words like good night or sleep time, or somethign you like In the begining, Kookie used to be very nervous when I take him to his cage to sleep, so with the routine it gets better. I also give him some seeds and almonds when i take him to sleep, so now he doesnt resist when I say good night. He knows hes going to the cage and he knows that some gifts are waiting for him there, he directly starts looking for the almonds. As for the cover, I dont really cover Kookies cage, he doesnt like it and feels nervous when he cant see whats going on around him, so I just turn off the light in his room, and keep the light on in the next room so he doesnt feel scared with the dark... This is all a matter of what he feelscomfortable in and what he gets used to. Even some changes can be uncomfortable for greys, like a washing machine working at night in the nearby kitchen, or even aheater in his room in the winter, but they get used with time i am sure you will find your own sleep routine for your baby, so best of luck Rana

  19. I really hope everything turns out OK...I do understand the concerns that hbalkhi was facing when it comes to finding a vet. In so many countries there aren't any avian vets at all, and sometimes the few that are available are totally incompetent. I thank God that I have found a good vet where I live, but a couple of years ago, I lost a grey, and the vet we saw was completely ignorant. He poked my greys nose and gave her more pain and ended up saying tere was nothing wrong with her...my grey died suffering that night... Sorry to share this but finding the right vet is very critical, and in some countries nearly impossible I hope Aoodi gets well soon...preyers and good thoughts his way...

  23. Wow..what Im whitnessing is amazing...they way they interact...and they are so funny... So yesterday Rambo decided to fly a little, he landed on the f loor and was discovering the room floor. Kookie joined him and started walking behind him following him. It was quite clear that Rambo doesnt wanna play with Kookie, but Kookie kept following him around the room on the floor. The funny thing is whenever Rambo stops and looks back at Kookie, Kookie would stop also and he would lower his head. I found that funny and strange... Today Rambo stepped up on my hand, and as I took him around the room, his eyes were fixed on Kookies playstand, so as we went near, it was obvious he just wanted to look but not to touch. Again Kookie did the same as we went closer to his play stand, Kookie lowered his head, I guess its like a peace sign that he doesnt wanna fight and only wants to play... Anyone seen this before... I feel like a wako now observing them and trying to figure out their body language and their communication
