  1. Hope he gets well Its really difficult if u got no avian vet regular vet can make a guess that can kill your grey. This happened with me so try to find an avian vt, you never know when u may need it, even if you can call him by phone, at leat he knows what hes talking about Good luck
  2. OMG, what you passed through must have been terribl and I am so glad that hes better now, I do emagine what you went through to get him to dubai, and the hospital is difficult to reach, but at least the vets are great. Ive been there befor eand both Dr Chris and Juio are great. Glad you were able to find pellets there. Mostly glad that richie is doing better. I am so thankful to God for this. Now did you get any feed back from them on the cause of disease. I dont think is PBFD, because that is deadly. I really hope its not. If they did the blood tests, it will need around 2 weeks to come back, but I hope not. How old is Richie now? Where did u buy him from? And I do recommend that you do not visit any et shops so that you dont get the PBFD virus on you. I am close to you here in Abu Dhabi. If you ned any Harrisons pellets, just let me know I can buy them and send them over to you All the best and keep us updated on Richi's situation. {Nature-00020095}

  7. This stuff provoked my anger too. Birds are birds, they are supposed to be loud...
  8. Not boring, its sharing and thats why this forum feels like home, cos we all share both sad and happy stories. Even small steps by our greys, warm our hearts and puts a smile on our face. Glad you shared that {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}
  9. Hes so cute, but is the molting related to clumziness?? Cos you said he flew into the curtains Just Curios {Nature-00020095}
  10. Nice question Kookie does the mating dance sometimes, droops his wings and pants or breathes in a funny way, some times he does this when he is near a mirror. It lasts fr a few minutes and he goes back to normal. what do u guys do when your greys do this, and what is the best thing to do, ignore it or try to divert their attention to something else? {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}
  11. How lovely...and when yo say dont bite...he actually listens...cute {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}
  12. Kookie is hyper especially if he doesnt wanna go to bed, he would pace his cage in a circle movement frm perch to side to top and then back on his perch. If I left him alone he would circulate for few minutes before he gets to sleep. Sometimes, I go to him, take him out for few head scratches, calm him down and give him a peanut or an almond. He sleeps like a baby afterwards. {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}

    Weaning Advice

    Since your bird is still young You can put some towels on the bottom of the cage, also keep the perch low so its easy for him to go to his erch at any time. The towel will help in case he falls down so he wouldnt injure himself Good Luck Rana

  17. very Cute...seems like an xpert in getting treas. Love the wheel an wish I can find one close to here {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}
  18. Kookie is a very chattery grey, he talks almost all the time, but it doesnt really disturb be. When I have guests or on the phone I think he becomes really naughty and does it on purpose. He practices all his loud screems out of jealousy. Sams dad, nice contribution to this thread. Like you I think when you are a bird lover, you see things from another perspective. I wanna Karma you, but not till 5 hours more. I will do it I promise {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}

  22. Loved the picture and the video. He very cute the way he repeats after you and gets ito his cage. seems to be very obedient. How old did u say he is? {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}
  23. Hi Greystar I think Dave has given loads of good advice and I do agree with it all. Your grey at 7 months starts to have personality, more like a child than a baby, he starts to test your limits and try to work it his own way, he tried the vocalisation and climbing at bed time and he won sometimes, u took him to your bedroom and he won again, so you give him all the positive reinforcement that he needs. He knows now that when he wants something, he can be naughty and you will do what he wants. I would encourage you to put his cage back in the initial place, put him to bed on time daily. tell him 5 min before bed time that its time to sleep, that hes gonna go inside and say good night, and praise him a lot when hes inside or give him some treats. I faced same with Kookie, so we found a solution, at bedtime I keep 2 peanuts in his cage so when he goes inside, he knows a treat is wating for him. I close the door and even if he begs me to go out, i will not allow it. You hav to be firm and he will learn. You have to help him to be indipendant, and reward him for that. You will be the best at finding what works out best for you. I would also strongly recommend a pellet diet, it does wonders to his feathers in terms of nutrition and all necessary vitamins. Also a scale is necessary. Keep a record of his weight so you can observe any changes. Its really like raising a kid, everyone is different and unique but moms have to keep a firm foot and this will build character. Good Luck {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}
