  1. Thanks Jade, I guess you are right, he will still mess himself up with the baby formula, and the weather in east France is gonna be cloudy with rain all this week. It's better to wait
  2. so cute, thanks for sharing
  3. Thank you...so we just had dinner and now tearing at the newspaper in his sleep box... first shower tomorrow...if we get some sun
  4. Hi Everybody, New baby just arrived home. He is exactly 2 months and 3 days old and soooo cute. Still looking for a name. Baby grey hatched in France, so I'm thinking of a Frenchy name. Please suggest DNA not done yet, but vet thinks its a boy (of course its not sure, but an experienced guess as he says) The breeder said DNA can be done by sending a feather to the lab. He usually plucks a couple of small feathers from the back and sends them for sexing. Has anyone tried that?
  5. Such a cutie, so adorable. Too many peanuts though, its like giving your child 10 large bags of chips... I would treat him with one occasionally. Maybe once a day or every couple of days, especially if you are offering him other nuts. Please keep sharing photos
  6. The funniest thing was when Kookie started coughing one day, I ran to to check him out but I saw and heard nothing. Next time I was just beside him and I saw him shake up while that sound came out, coughing like a smoker. I was seriously concerned when this was repeated and every time hi moves heavily as if it was coming out from deep within his chest. Hurried to the vet...who laughed at me cos Kookie was apparently imitating my neighbor who coughs out loud at night. Turned out Kookie was as healthy as a a little devil...
  7. Be patient, he will, and once he does.... he will be all over you, like a very jealous clingy child.... it some times drives me crazy, he even follows me to the toilet...lol
  8. so true.... even we belong to them... was thinking of the same today, when Kookie flew and landed right on my head... his favorite landing spot... I'm sure that he thinks that I too belong to him, or at least my head does... LOL Thanks for sharing this...
  9. Hope to get some good news today

    Emergency

Hope shes feeling better. I guess she needs some time to recover from that shock. In any case try to keep the cats out of her sight for now so that she can recover. Im not sure if whe will be scared every time she sees them, so you have to watch out her reaction the first time they are around. Keep us posted
  11. yes and the vet visit is very urgent. Greys hide their sickness, so by the time the sickness starts to show, it means they got really weak. Please go to the vet quickly and keep us posted. In any way, keep your grey as warm as possible.
  12. yup as Dan said, very normal
  13. Im very glad he is doing well... great news
  14. Hi No Sadly my friend doesnt know what type of birds are those, nor he knows who took the photo. He received it by email as well, it was an email with animal photos. But I thought it was so lovely and expressive and felt like sharing it. Im glad you liked it Rana
  15. Finally it worked... this is too cute...
  16. Just wanted to share this photo. It was sent to me by a friend. I loved it and I hope you like it too I am not able to attach the photo Ill try again
  17. So another day passes and the 2 still seem like good friends. One cant wait to get out of his cage to fly to the other. They are blowing kisses all the time and complete each others sentences...very cute, but they are getting very loud as well, as if they are in a whisteling competitions....who can sceam and whistle louder. Kookie still wants me to play with him and is still seeking my attention. This means that even though he connected to coucou, he hasnt lost interest in me. He still calls me all the time and fliy over to where Im sitting. He is even a bit jealous of Coucou, so Im making sure he gets things first. Thanks Judy, Luvparrots & birdhouse for your advice. I never let them out of my sight whenever they are out together. Im afraid one might jolt the other or hurt him. Still trying to read and find out if 2 male greys can develop friendship and get attached to each other. Cos if not, then either Coucou is a girl, or gay...
  18. Thanks everybody for your replies. Its so funny how both Kookie and Coucou are communicating. They are responding to each others whistles and words, as if they are answering each other. Its so funny. Last night they sat on the same play tree perch and played with the same toy with some cuddling but no regurigating for each other. I read by most members' posts that their greys normally ignore each other. Those two are building a relationship as it looks. Love to hear some feedback
  19. wow your fids are lucky to be getting all this, lucky birds
  20. Cool, at least you know the name is a suitable one now. Congratulations on sexing your baby
  21. oh he is very cute & I can understand your urge, but you have to be really sure that u have time and place for him. Also the question of health is really important. Perhaps if u decide to get him, you should take him to the vet just to be sure as you dont want to bring a desease to your home. I guess its a tough call and you have to think this over before you decide. In anyway please keep us posted
  22. My friend's grey does the same, guess its just a habit for some greys
  23. oh this is so cute...loved the video and Thank you PAul for sharing it
  24. Im having Coucou, my brothers grey over since few days. Normally Kookie loves to go play with Coucou, but Coucou always attacks him, so I keep them separated. Now as far as I know Coucou is a male parrot, thats what the shop owner told my bro few years ago when he got him. Kookie is also a male parrot, this was verified through a DNA test. Yesterday and suddenly Coucou uddles and soon they were preening each other and cuddling. Ive taken few pics of them. Now the question is could Coucou be a female or is it normal for male greys to do this. Im posting some pics of them and I would like to have some members opinions.
  25. naughty guy...you gotta be watchful when he's out
