  1. OMG this is so funny. Kookie did the same but with my mobile keyboard... and if he could get his beak any close to the laptop....he wouldn't give it a second thought... He actually chewed on the laptop cord the other day in an attempt to climb up to the table and get hold of the laptop, but thank God the cord was unplugged, or I would've found a roasted grey.... lucky me.... I am more careful now and always make sure to switch off the power switches to avoid any dangerous consequences... ...and yes I guess stuffing him wouldn't be enough....Id have to think of other ways....
  2. Wow, Capo is adorable, I love the pix. Welcome to our grey family
  3. Mine is 5.5 years old...but acts just like a baby...
  4. Birdnut gave priceless advice, also put some posters with photo in schools, cjoldren tend to notice birds more than adults, hopefully one kid will see him and notify the teacher. I really hope you will find him soon, please keep us posted
  5. Cool...I like it...just needs a poop tray and Itll be perfect...
  6. I dont really remember what kind of bird, but he was very curios and friendly. His eyelashes looked like real mascara. In fact he was very cute
  7. I dont think it is Mandatory. Usually in UAE if your parrot does not have a ring, they advise you to microchip him just in case he got lost. This is also not mandatory. I am not sure about UK
  8. I have taken those phootos during my last visit to the Kidz Park in Abu Dhabi. Hope you like them
  9. Amazing birds...I just loved them. Where is this park? KL Malaysia? Ive been there last year but didnt hear about it?
  10. God Bless you for your persistance. I think it would also be good if you sprey your grey on daily basis. It reduces the feather dust. I hope you'll find a good air purifier that works for you. Good Luck
  11. Hi Tamara and welcome in our grey family. Its really good that you have joined our forum before you actually get your grey. There is a lot to know about greys and even after years of having them as companions, you will still learn a lot. As far as I know, there isnt any behavioral difference between them, but perhaps some other more experienced members can give you more inofrmation. Its also good to think about the age of the grey you want to get. Babies are more demanding and they need more care, especially that their immunity is a lot lower than adult greys. On the other hand, its really a wonderful experience to get a baby grey as they are more cudly and bond faster than adult ones. Another advantage for having a baby grey is that they dont come with behavioral problems or any baggage that they carry from their previous owners. I am sure that other members will share their openions on this matter. Give it some thought beofre you decide. All the best and looking forward to hearing forom you about your grey
  12. how cute...Im glad he eats well and its really good that he eats veggies & his pellets...looking forward to the pix
  13. Be patient because once he starts chattering, you will miss those peaceful days...
  14. OMG...how can some people be so mean??? Im so sorry for the loss and I hope no one gets to go through that. One can never be too careful
  15. Kookie loves eating chilli peppers, both the green and the red ones. He actually eats the white seeds inside. He eats one a day. Do you think this is too much?
  16. Thanks for sharing this and Im glad you were quick in solving it. Glad Harvey is doing well
  17. HI Everybody This thread is interesting and I would really like to know what the vet would say. I have a funny experience similar to this which I never understood. The last time I took Kookie to the vert to get his nails and beak trimmed, I was holding Kookie in a towel while the vet was doing the job. It seems that I held Kookie's head tighter than I was supposed to and when the vet finished and Kookie was released we both noticed something a bit strange in his eyes. It looked as if I applied too much pressure on his eyes and his eyes looked disturbed. Actually under the light I felt as if his eye was a bit dented, not quite spherical (I mean his eyeball). I was scared like hell and the vet used a magnifying glass to look closer but in a matter of seconds, his eye went back to the normal shape. The vet also was not sure cos upon examining his eyes, they looked pretty normal. That was pretty strange, and I am not sure if this was some sort of an optical illusion or a reality. There was no bleeding or anything else and in no time Kookie was as playful as always. I am sure I will handle him with more care and pay extra attention to his eyes. It was probably nothing, but felt like sharing this with you, hoping that we will always be extra careful especially when we have to restrain our greys. Missed you all and missed this forum. Glad to be back online... Rana
