  1. Hi David, frankly, the only way to find out if Luna will step up without the perch is to put the perch away so that it is not issue and see what happens. Welcome to the Grey family!
  2. Congrats on having a grey who loves to bathe! Please do have water available for your grey to bathe in. Just make sure it is early enough in the day that he can dry out completely before bedtime. Would love a video!!
  3. Oh Dave I didn't know you love cockroaches. How do we send you the little buggers, you big hearted teddy bear! EG
  4. Sorry, you must sign in and I don't have an account with Gmail.
  5. Hi Jolly's parront, welcome to the Grey family. One good thing is that your lab will be a puppy and more easy to control and get use to Jolly. Unfortunately if your grey is like my Ana Grey, TAG, who believes she is queen, your puppy will have to look out. My Ana Grey is a stalker and fearless so she is the one I don't trust with dogs. Judy's advice is priceless. Hunting dogs and birds, need watching always.
  6. Hi Flowerchick, welcome to the Grey Family! More information about Zeke, so we can get to know you all!
  7. I read at this site that it is from Care2 and Care2 is posted on Facebook. So before you sign anything you should check it out. I'm with Dave007, I would not sign anything if I don't know where it originated. My personal information is precious to me.
  8. Hi Mark, thanks for the update on Timmy. It's nice to know Timmy has a great appetite. Anytime you can, we are here to hear more about your grey.
  9. Hi Not a Grey. It is not required that you own a grey to belong to the GreyForums. Just love of greys is definitely enough. We do have a Macaw Room in the Other Birds Room if you would like to share your Blue and Gold with us. Welcome to the Forum.
  10. Very cute. Way to go Dorian in a bad situation!
  11. Congrats Bongo! There is nothing more beautiful and free than a flying bird! I love it when I hear the sound of flapping wings when my gang comes looking for me! Priceless!

    Greenie

Congrats on your ekkie. What is his name?
  13. I have three parrots all different. All flighted. A Timneh, a Congo and a Blue Front Amazon. They tolerate each other but are not great friends. I can let them all out at the same time but they do not eat together or perch together. I never leave them together alone if I am not in eye shot. I also have a canary that is also free flighted but I kept him in my office, separate, because my TAG likes to stalk him.
  14. Many of us use Aloe Vera juice on our parrots. My gang love to be wet down to the skin.
  15. My parrots aren't big pellet eaters but they will eat Zupreem's Veggie Blend. Have tried Harrison's and they ignore it completely.
  16. That's a great 1930s story. Had a good laugh Dee. My Sterling Gris who says, "Hello Gorgeous" has also picked up -sorry from me- "Damn Bird" cause I have been sick (really no excuse) with the flu for about 3 weeks and he took advantage of my poor healthy to not go into his cage when I wanted (flighted birds can be a pain at times), so unfortunately I lost my patience very loudly more than once. Hopefully like Ana Grey's "F--- it", it will go away if it gets no reaction from me and hopefully the other two will not choose to adopt the words (fingers crossed). I wonder if there are more old articles about this ancient "foul" bird?
  17. Hi Tori looking forward to getting to know both you and Taz or Peanut whichever you decide on. I have a re-homed zon and would have chanced his name but he said it all the time, Louie. Only my CAG had the presence of mind to change it to what he wanted. He calls Louie "Lou". Welcome to the Grey family!
  18. It has been wonderful to watch Gilbert grow in confidence. Great job Dee and hubby!
  19. It is written, if you find a parrot that needs to be re-homed, it is your obligation to oblige without guilt.
  20. I grew up on a farm so I am quite familiar with chicken sounds and Gracie's chicken is just perfect, love it! Jeff I enjoy hearing about Gracie, it is always fun to watch a grey grow in the Greyforum. Thank you for sharing her with us!
  21. The beak rubbing on your fist is just Emmy asking for a tickle or whatever it is you do rub/tickle. My two greys do this when they are cuddling or wanting a tickle. They do say "tickle, tickle" so of course it is easy for me to know that. Just a thought, if you have any colored plastic straws they make great toys for parrots. My three love them so I tie them together in the middle and hang them around their perches. Great inexpensive toys and a piece of plastic straw would probably be a great scratcher for Emmy.
  22. I believe it's always good to be more safe than sorry. I took each of my parrots to an avian vet I trusted when I first got them. They were wellness checked and micro-chipped. Now their avian vet has an normal basis to go by and I have peace of mind knowing they are healthy and easily identifiable. If one of them does happen to get ill, their vet has a record of them when they are healthy. Fingers crossed that Congo's vet will give him a good bill of health.
  23. Love hearing about Salsa Jayd. (hint, hint) heh, heh!

    Arrival

When your new friend starts showing signs of wanting to be with you. Coming to the side of the cage that you are at. Watching your movements and going towards you. When Kahzi is ready he will let you know. Just be patient. Is Kahzi a talker? Are you using some of the phrases he knows and is he talking to you?
  25. Lovely update. You are a great parront with lots of patience and love for those two lucky greys. Bless you!
