Streetwise, you should start a new thread in the "Other Birds Room" for your macaw. This is the Grey Lounge meant for African Greys. I look forward to seeing your new macaw.
My fids have foraging toys, filled with dried fruits and nuts and cherrios, etc. and they have to work at getting the goodies out. They also have stainless steel bells to bang around and lots of wooden chew toys. If they get frayed I just buy new ones.
Oh Cody looks just devine!!!!! Look at those sparkling eyes and the joy and happiness inside them. What great parronts Cody has. What a lucky little guy!!! (and quite handsome as well)!!!
Not to worry Barbara they grow up soon enough and then they don't nap anymore!!!!!! I don't want to hear you complaining about not getting any peace!!!!! LOL!!!!! "> LOL!!!
Well congratulations on your Blue and Gold. I can't wait to hear more about him. We have an Other Birds Room so you can post pictures and brag about your new macaw!!!!! Again, congratulations!!!!
Not to worry Jilly, I believe just about anything you say!!!!! As for flinging our greys, I do it all the time to Ana Grey and she loves it and always comes back for more!!!! Love those little back laying varmints!!!!
What am I doing???? Feeling sorry for myself as I hurt my knee about a month ago and have been hobbling around on and off for a while now. Fall on my ARS_ _ a few days ago and now my ARS_ _ hurts when I stand up or lay down so in other words I feel like Poooo!!!!!!
Oh relax, Timmy is just great. Just enjoy this curious and sweet new member of your family. Tell him what you are doing. Name the foods and treats you give him. Talk to him as if he were one of your children. Our greys understand so much and they really do try to be part of the family. Give Timmy a chance to understand things and words and I bet he will be pop out with a word or phrase sooner or later. Just be patient and enjoy this bundle of grey feathers!
With Ana Grey it varies. Sometimes in the early morning before I am up and if I talk to her she always has a thing or two to add. Then ometimes in the afternoon. Now my Zon, Louie, talks around late morning or noon. Sully, the ekkie, is whenever someone comes to visit or when he can't see me or wants me to turn off the light for nite, nite.
I have an indestructible bell that is in my Zon's cage. He is the real bell clanger in this flock and he loves it. He can be quite vicious to his toys and clanging instruments. He gets such satisfaction beating the tar out of all his toys!!!!!
Only my grandson has heard Ana Grey talk in person, besides me. My other family have heard her over the telephone because she loves to talk when I am on the phone so people know she can talk. And she does talk to me all the time. When strangers are over she is quiet as a shadow.
Ahhhh yes, I so remember this sad but lovely verse. It is what made me bring my Sully home and vow that he would never go back to that pet store. It also made me abstract a promise from my daughter that she would find someone else to take my ekkie if I should go Home.
