  2. My three parrots enjoy Zupreem VeggieBlend. I have tried Roudybush and Pretty Bird and others. Zupreem VeggieBlend is the one they eat.
  3. Hi Ismail, nice to meet you and Twix. He is a lovely grey. I have perches in certain places in my home and luckily my parrots ike to sit on the perches so do most of their pooping there. Looking forward to learning more about Twix. Welcome to the Grey family!
  4. Hooray for Marcus! What a great adventure for Marcus. Love the pictures!
  5. Happy Hatch Day Val!!!! Already a whole year. How times flies when you are having fun!!!!!
  6. I am a grandmother not a new mom but I have had my premature born grandson around my jealous Ana Grey. I always talked to Ana Grey and explained about little Dino and that she needed to be good to him. You know Ana Grey has always been respectful of Little Dino from day one. She would sit quietly on the back of my rocking chair while I feed the baby his bottle or rocked him to sleep. And she would sit quietly on her perch while I changed his diaper. She seem to understand that the baby needed me more than her. After I put the baby to bed of course Ana Grey got oodles of scratches and loving. The same happened when I first got Sterling Gris, my CAG at 5 months and he needed a night feeding. Ana Grey never interfered and would sit quietly on the back of my chair or on my shoulder and patiently wait until Sterling was finished eating. Of course, now that he is older, she beats the tar out of him, but then that is what siblings do!!! The point is, greys are very smart and intuitive and if you talk to your grey and always include Charlie I believe all will be fine. From your post, you are all ready doing that.("...laying down with Charlie on my stomach. ....") Congratulations on the new addition to your family.
  7. I'm looking forward to following Scarlet's happy journey with you. To me, she is beautiful!!
  8. You sound like a very proud Daddy and Gracie sounds very mischievous! LOL!!!
  9. Too cute! Perhaps I should get Ana Grey one of those, so she will leave my kitchen utensils alone!!!!! LOL!!!
  10. Marcus should enjoy the trip to the office. Pictures of the excursion would be nice (hint, hint).
  11. Oh, oh don't forget the pictures!!! Can't wait to hear how the first visit goes!!!!
  12. Hi Jill, nice intro. I am looking forward to seeing some pictures of Penny! Welcome to the Grey family!
  13. Gee it's getting thick in here!!!! Watch your step!!!!! LOL!!!
  14. Hi crsweat, first of all you need to tell us a little more about your new re-homed grey. Things like age, background on his life and things of that sort if you can. What is his/her name? We are a nosey lot so feel free to tell us all you can. Welcome to the Grey family!
  15. Too cute. When I clean the bird room, parrots are a messy lot, I always sigh during and after. Ana Grey now sighs while I am working away. To bad she also doesn't help clean up!!!!
  16. You can always try and redirect his banging. Offer him a piece of vegetable, a carrot or some other alternative.
  17. Hi Liz, I am 65 and have three parrots all under the age of 4 1/2 years old and your questions make my head swim. I have had an artificial heart aortic value for over 35 years. I live alone and my three flighted companions gave me more joy that I can say. They talk, they fight and they play just like children and I am in heaven! I just enjoy my babies everyday and yes I worry about what will happen to them when I'm gone and I am looking for future parronts for each of them. But that will not stop me from giving them the best home I can and to try and see that they will adapt to another home in the future. My two greys I have had since they were weaned. My BF zon is re-home that will not let anyone touch him, it is my job to see that before I leave this life, that each of my parrots will be acceptable to other homes. It is my goal and I look forward to filling it. Mai Tai needed you and you stepped up and I have no doubts that before you leave this life, you will have found Mai Tai a suitable future home. So relax, enjoy your new friend and just keep your eyes open for Mai Tai's happiness. I believe things happen for a purpose and you and Mai Tai are right for each other right now. Welcome to the Grey family!
  18. Hi to you and Pepper. Really can't add anything to the great advice Judygram has already given. Just give him time to settle in and get use to all the new changes in his life. Talk to him and let him know what is happening in his and your lives. Welcome to the Grey family!
  19. My Ana Grey is 3 1/2 years old and weighs in at 303-05g. She eats like a pig and is fully flighted so she is a very busy little lady who is out of her cage almost all day. Your guy certainly is a big one!
  20. Hi Dennis, you need to settle down and relax. What is your new grey's what name by the way? Let your new friend settle in and come out of his cage when he is ready. Talk to him, offer him treats and friendship. Just let him come to you. Welcome to the Grey family! Pictures please, when you get a chance.
  21. You should relax because when you tense up Sam "feels" it too. Things will settle down so relax and just get well.
  22. Oh your zon will be a blessing. I love my Louie. He makes me laugh every day. I have never seem such an energetic parrot in my whole life! I am looking forward to watching you and Scarlet bond together. What fun!
  23. Your zon is getting the reaction he wants from your family when he bites them. So when family/you react in a way that pleases your zon, he bites more to get his way more. I have a re-homed BF 4 year old Amazon and he is a biter. Not in a vicious way but frankly, I believe as a his way of touching me. I have had him for 1 1/2 years and it is a on going challenge to get him to stop nibbling my ears, my scalp whatever. He gets a lot of "no bites" but I never "punish" him. It is taking a long time but Louie does understand not to bite me. It just seems it is a habit for him and so I have to be patient and do my best not to put him in or let him get into situations where he can bite. That's the key to do my best not to put him in or let him get into situations where he can bite.
  24. Have others in the household tried talking to him or calling back instead of you? When my parrots, I have three, call out or make a loud vocal noise continuously, I just call out them or sing to them. I believe they are just trying to see where I am and that I am still around. I do not run to them but stay where I am. They are all flighted and they can come to me. They normally just quiet down and go on with their whatever. With parrots, I believe you must be inventive and willing to experiment with different solutions until the right one pops up. Good luck.
  25. Roxie is a cutie for sure! Can't wait to hear how the first full day home goes! The fun has just begun!
