  1. I have a Blue Front Amazon what I have had for 1 1/2 years that I can't touch. But he and I have a great relationship and he follows me all though the house and goes into his cage without too much of a problem. I can't touch him, but he can touch me and for us it works. With love and patience yes, I believe you can have a relationship with a wild/untamed parrot.
  2. :DStering Gris, my big Bambam guy, is one year old today!!! For breakfast he and the gang got scrambled eggs and diced sweet potatoes. As usually Sterling was swinging wildly from his cage swing, he loves that beaded swing. He is a big eater and loves his food. Although Sterling is big and clumsy and screams like a girl if frighted, he has a gentle soul usually. Today, like a gift from heaven, Sterling's gift from Dee came in the mail. So after the first bloody bite I have ever gotten from any of my parrots, I managed to get Sterling's present on him and Sterling realized that this was a good thing. http//i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp158/JanetMoulton/023-2.jpg%5B/IMG%5D"]http:// Because he was the only parrot that got to go outside in the sunshine without a cage: Thank you Dee. Sterling Gris has promised to wear his new harness with pride and honor for his lost companions Juno and Kopi. Godspeed. Happy Hatchday my sweet grey.
  3. Good for Misty. that is too cute!!!! Unfortunately mine don't do manual labor. All they are good for is entertainment. But they are good at it!!!! LOL!!
  4. When one, usually Ana Grey or Louie would try to bite the other, I would say, "no fighting" at first I had to stand up and start toward them before the fighting stopped. You have to be constant and not miss a beat. In the beginning I did have to shoo at them to stop them. After awhile all I had to say was "no fighting" and they would stop. You do have to keep at it.
  5. I can only wear gold or silver, not the cheap stuff, so I have a gold crucifix my daughter gave me. The first year, Ana Grey quickly nibbled on the chain and it could not be repaired. After that it was my keyboards. I can slide the keyboard drawer under my desk and she can still get down and pop the "ctrl" keys. So I have had to keep my parrots out of my office to protect my machines. But mostly Ana Grey as she is the tinker in the gang.
  6. Now my gang is different, when I leave the home they all come into the living room and sit on the boings by the living room window and quietly wait for me. When I come inside, they know all is well and go about their business. I guess they are my "watch dogs". Pity any stranger coming into my home without me!!!! LOL!!!
  7. My zon, Louie, a re-home, is now 4 years old. He does not let me touch him but he can touch me. He likes to do a military fly by before landing on my shoulder. .. but in Chili's case it does sound like it is a "Hey you that's my person." get away tactic. Instead of a punishment, I would give Chili Pepper a talking to and tell him "no fighting" and after you have done whatever you are doing with Maccardi or Slater, give Chili Pepper some special time of his own. My three are all flighted and out all day and they use to fight all the time. They have learned what "no fighting" means and to respect each ones special time with me. Watching them and correcting their attitudes has take time and lots of attention, but now I can leave them alone and know that they have learned to respect each other's distance and no longer battle like warriors.
  8. Oh please don't go away from the forum!!!! We have an Other Birds Room and I would love to hear about your Mynah and watch him grow with you!!!! Regard if you go or stay for now, I can understand so until we hear from you be safe and know your Grey Forums family is here for you! Godspeed.
  9. Marcus knows what he likes and when he has had enough!!!! Smart guy!!!! Great video!
  10. Elidih from your posts and answers to others, you are only asking for comments on the red ball problem. So all I will say is that I agree with Dave007, whom I respect oodles. Just remove this red ball and replace it with a larger red ball and see if that corrects Chippy being able to sit on it. Just from my own experience, I do have one comment about the flooring materials you have in Chippy's cage. When I first got my grey, I had such materials in my grey's cage and it attracted moths to lay eggs that hatched lots of moths. It is not easy to get rid of moths. Love my newspaper cage liner.
  11. Hi Linnea, welcome to the Grey forum. I look forward to hearing about your journey to find the grey for you.
  12. Great advice from Judy. If you are apprehensive or uncertain your grey will sense it and act accordingly. So relax and just talk to your grey and let him come to you.
  13. It depends on how much time your grey has to spend in his/her cage. I have three parrots and they all have the same size cages and are very happy. They are out most of the day and basically just sleep in their cages at night. Their cages are described as medium-sized. Some members believe the bigger the better.
  14. Your grey will not really grow bigger. Just fill out more or less. At least that is what my two did.
  15. I believe in the Health Room Dave007 has posted about weights and sizes.
  16. Congrats on your new grey what a little looker!
  17. I hope you find your Dodu. Be strong and keeping looking he is waiting for you to find him.
  18. That's the way I got my grey, I had the choice of 5 and my sweet Ana Grey chose me.
  19. Love the first picture. He looks like a his a big sleepy grin on his face.
  20. Billy certainly is a looker! Look forward to see more pictures!
