  1. She is beautiful! Thanks for the picture update!
  2. Lol, I'm with Jill! Alfie loves to de-button shirts rather than un-button them! And she's very good at it! Another lovely vid of Emma. Thanks for sharing. x
  3. My goodness Pat, he is truly stunning!! How could you keep a secret like that for so long!! I'd be beside myself!! Thanks for sharing him now tho - he's a beauty! X
  4. hahahaha "3 bags FUUUULLLLLL!" Priceless!
  5. It's taking a while, but do you think it's ok to do it like that?
  6. Oh you must get a video of this! I would so love to see it! Amazon antics are new to me but that sounds so precious! x
  7. Thanks for the comments folks. I really have tried everything! From her own bath with toys in it, that she won't go near, to misting her in or out of her cage, that has a similar outcome to Talons. I know she hates the water, but I'm starting to see just tiny little glimpses of behaviour that may indicate she might start to enjoy it, one day, when she realises I'm not actually trying to kill her!! Thanks for looking. x
  8. Lol Jess, you most certainly are not! Great thread tho, thanks for starting it! x
  9. I like this thread! I was almost on a roll there!!
  10. Lol - She was a very well behaved guest! In fact, she's been in a good mood all day! She's even being particularly nice to me today! We should have birthdays more often!!! THanks for looking! x
  11. Hay folks! Just another wee update on Alfies shower saga and a video to go with! She is definitely getting better. She doesn't kick up a fuss when I go to put her in her "shower" cage, which I think speaks volumns, and she is continuing to sit happilly on my hand while I shower her. It just goes to show that patience and persistence does pay off. I don't know if we'll ever see the day where she will sit happily with me in the shower, who knows, but for the moment we've found a way acceptable to both of us, and to be honest I'm amazed we've found this happy ground! She's just a little star!! Hope you and yours are all well. Lyn & Alfie xx
  12. Good luck with the boat Bernie - hope it goes well! JillyBeanz wrote: Hehe, I did! What kind of reaction did you get?
  13. So it was Megans 10th Birthday today, and when we came in, we gave her a lovely birthday tea, but guess who had to get her beak in on the act?! Then before I could stopped her, she'd wolfed her "birthday cheese" - candle and all! lol actually, I managed to grab the candle before the rest dissapeared! It was worth it though! Then of course Alfie had to get in on the act and check it all out! She grabbed a breadstick and legged it!! I'm surprised to say after her initial raid - Alfie was good enough to go back toher own bowl and leave the dogs to their party!! Thanks for looking folks. Hope you and yours are all well. Lyn & Alfie (and Megan) xxx

  15. They sure do! And it's funny how their food doesn't look as appealing to us as ours does to them!! Thanks for looking ! x
  16. Hi Jenny, Yes, Alfie came from parrotcare and she's a real character. Insurance-wise I use exotic direct, you get 3 months free from John anyway so I just continued that. I have claimed from them once and it was fast and hasslefree! Hope this helps. Good luck with finding your baby! Lyn & Alfie x
  17. Hi Jill, I think Alfie may be the same in some ways. Although she does talk, she prefers to whistle and mimic sounds she hears - phones and beeps etc. We try to keep whistling to a minimum in our house, but David is a chronic whistler and it drives me nuts, cos I think as long as Alf is being encouraged to whistle, she'll do that rather than talk!! Julie's right, if you just keep talking at him and resist whistling, Harvey'll be talking in no time! x
  18. Hi, Poor Guapo, he is beautiful tho! I don't know anything about the special needs of a constant feather picker, but well done you for considering offering a home to this beautiful bird, who is obviously in dire need of some tlc. Hopefullly you will get all the info you need on here, to make your decision. Good luck x
  19. ...even tho Alfie prefers my fance - won't look at me when he's in the room, bites me when she's in that mood, is the messiest little critter I ever came across, not content with just dropping food off the edge of her bowl - she actually throws it! And I love her to bits! particle77 wrote: Lol - this takes obsession to new limits! Great thread - it has the potential to be very entertaining! Thanks for starting it! x
  20. Wow - I haven't seen them for a while, they look like proper little birds now!! So cute I just want to cuddle them! Thanks for sharing yet again!
  21. Sorry to hear you're poorly, but you're doing the right thing! Do you have or could you maybe borrow like a 2way intercom so you and Darwin can still have conversations? It might help you both to deal with the separation. Great Picture too. Feel better soon. x
  22. How exciting Janet!! Now she's found her wings she'll come on in leaps and bounds! And how kind of Fey Lian to let Ana Grey use her couch as a landing strip! x
  23. Bless - she wasn't giving that bag up for anyone, then - "ho hum, I meant to drop it you know!!" Did she go down and get it again once the camera stopped rolling? Thanks for sharing, love your vids. x
  24. Hay folks! Snapped a few off the other night when Alfie was chancing her luck with our tea!! We don't try to muscle in on her veggie mash!! The crumbs on the table are rich tea - she doesn't eat them, just likes to crunch em up!! xx
