Hehe, it is def the noisiest Alfie gets! Do you think it's just excitement then? Imagine if they do it in the wild too - 100s of grey flying around doing the Pterodactyl! Mad!!

How interesting that this kind of language will get birds attention more readily it seems than regular bird speak! When I played this back Alfie totally tuned in to it, then took off, screeching in unison with herself!! I'm going to try playing it again for her when she is in a talkative mood and see if I can't get a better shot of the "Pteradactyl"! Talking of which, I was astonished to find loads of actual sightings of pteradactyls on youtube! Apparantly there have been around 1400 sightings of them in America in the last 30 years! Who knew??! Haha - thanks Dan! I never thought of it as Pterodactyl until you said it - but it does seem quite a good description!! Ptery makes an appearance usually once a day at least!!

Sorry Dee, can't help with that. It's such a shame this little lad has had so many problems in his short life it's affecting his relationship with humans already. Hope you get some good advice here that will help you decide. x

Hi Folks! I've heard Dan make reference to Dayo's "pterodactyl" a couple of times and wondered if this is what he's on about! Alfie has done this really since she could fly, only ever does it on the wing and I'm just wondering if anybody else has seen their greys do this!? I'm not sure either what it means, I think it's just pure exuberance! It's really hard to capture on vid as it comes out of no-where and just lasts a split second, so it's a very short clip!! Alfie does have her own voice, but she also does mine and Davids. She will take stuff she's learned from either of us and say it in my, Davids or her own voice! She also whistles alot and makes up her own tunes, as well as ones she's learned from us! Great photo btw! Thanks for sharing.

I'm so happy to hear Guapo is settling in well - I love a happy ending! Although this isn't the end for Guapo - it's the beginning of the new, happier life he is going to be leading with you. I wish you many happy years with him in your family. Karma for deciding to take this troubled little lad in and turning his life around. x
