  1. It is! Love the hats - so cute!!
  2. danmcq wrote: Tut! Consider it done!! Man am I thick!!! Sheila - Alfie says thanks for the support! She knew they were a force to be reckoned with, despite their size!!
  3. I'm so glad to hear Angel is doing better. Well done for going that extra mile in looking for a more suitable vet to treat your bird. The Doctor you found certainly went above and beyond the call of duty to treat your bird!! Now you know who to call if he ever gets sick again. Please be extra careful with what you allow Angel to play with in the future - there are so many household items that can harm our greys, we all have to be extra vigilant! Here is a page I found which has a list of items both safe and non safe for your bird! http://www.exoticbird.com/gillian/ I hope Angel makes a complete recovery. Lyn & Alfie
  4. I think I would get along with Stacey just fine - we share a lot of opinions! I would have struggled with the mice though!! His flying lessons sound comical!
  5. Hmm - I thought I meant tip to tip too! Dan, does wingspan mean just one?
  6. There's really only one thing for it Bernie - a hatcam! So we can all see your boat go and Jill can have her proof!!
  7. An excellent post and I agree 110%. "I'd like a greyhound but they run so darn fast - shall we just lop a leg off to slow it down a bit?!" It amounts to the same thing doesn't it! Ooh some people make me:angry: !
  8. Lol Janet - thats a cool pic! Where did you find that one?
  9. You're both right! She is a total wuss!! At least she is a healthy wuss tho!!
  10. Thats too cute - I thought at first he was playing with a goldfish! Then realised he had orange toes!! Some particular breeds, the Turkish Van comes to mind, do actually enjoy swimming for fun but most cats don't. Still a cute vid, thanks Bernie.
  11. Hay Folks, Just a quick note to draw a line under Alfies health issues over the summer. On yesterdays check up the vet was more than happy with her and doesn't need to see her again until next years health check. Weight fine, feathers fine, everything fine!! And as for her little sickness scare on monday that had me panicking and paranoid - most probably just a stuck walnut!! (Thanks to those of you who jumped in to calm me down!) Two other things we found out about Alfie while we were there, 1) She has a wingspan of around 32 inches. 2) she is afraid of cockatiels! Hope you and yours are all well. Lyn & Alfie xx
  12. These are such great pictures of your cute little lot! I sooo wish I had known Alfie at this age, but at least seeing these pics, I can imagine how she would've been! Thanks so much for sharing this incredible journey with us, and congratulations on the egg! Here we go again!!
  13. Aww thanks Bernie & Family! And the same to you! I have to say you have the best fancy bits in your sig - where do you find them all!! xx
  14. Hehe! That is funny! It makes you remember to be extra careful what you say around your grey!
  15. Lol - that is a funny new phrase of Ursulas! As for your dilemma Zivadiva, I had Alf at the specialist just today, and she assured me that a week in her cage whilst we are away is something that Alfie could easily cope with. I have to say i'm not too sure, but she's the expert!! Perhaps before you go, you could get him used to at least being caged in the same room as the other birds, and that way he wouldn't be on his own? Hope you get it sorted. Lyn & Alf x
  16. Lol - we are also quite familiar with the hoops in our house!! I use a similar set of scales to weigh Alfie, who is also scared of them, I simply lay a sheet of newspaper or the like over the top so all you can see is the digital display! While she's on there I distract her with a pine nut to keep her in place. Works a treat! Alfie is a female who will be two years in February and today she weighs 420gms. Lyn & alf x
  17. He is just stunning Pat! You're absolutely right - Awesome!! Thanks for the pic.
  18. Couldn't wait for Christmas - My Wesley the Owl came this morning! I've only just read one chapter so far and already I'm bawling like a baby!!! I'm going to enjoy this! Thanks Cassandra for bringing it to our attention!

  22. Lol - he does sound like an entertainer for sure!! Somersaults and everything!! I'll bet he meant to do that just to make you laugh! They do seem to like the laughter! x
  23. Alfie's favourites are pine nuts at the minute too. sOmetimes sunflower seeds, a bread stick - changes all the time really!
  24. That is a great picture!! He's lovin it! Do you let him chomp down the whole thing?!!
