1. I just moved into a new apartment and for my housewarming gifts, I asked for stainless steel cookware sets. My aunt got me some baking pans and some skillets that are stainless steel, and again I am just like you I am adjusting as well (haven't cooked since I got Woody cause I had teflon!) lol I have figured a few things out however, and stainless steel food tastes great with a bit of extra butter :laugh:
2. Way to go Ashley! Very responsible decision! :laugh:
3. CONGRATULATIONS! It's such a great feeling to finally have your baby home! Please keep up informed!
4. Whoa, thanks for letting me know, I'll flag him as my beware list seller. I'm actually picking up a cage (or rather 'going to look') at a cage on Friday, the lady had a cockatoo in it, but she just got a new cage. So hopefully it will be good, I'm thinking about adopting this DYH amazon.... B)
5. Thank you everyone for your kind words {Love-000200C5}
6. LOL :woohoo: I love that song. Whew, I'm glad I won't feel like a mongrel when I do decide on a different name - if I do decide to get him that is. Hm...now. What name? My cats name is Achillies, I think I will stick with the Roman / Greek god theme....
7. I pictured a big black guy as a bouncer at a club... :laugh: This bird is 8 years old... :ohmy:
8. I have been looking online for another bird for my flock and have come across several, some aren't exactly what I'm looking for, some have been but yet, just not right. I'm still waiting for my bird to find me, I don't want to rush.B) However, as I've been looking I've noticed that some of these birds have really, really odd names that I just can't imagine myself saying for the next 50 years :blink: . My aunt suggested that I could always change it, and if that were a dog or cat I would have no problem, but with birds they are more like your children and I think I would feel guilty changing it, like I am taking away their identity, do you know what I mean? :dry: If I do get a rescue bird, what do you think about changing it's name? I am chatting with a lady right now about her DYH Amazon, but it's name is Bubba lol :laugh: Am I being shallow? Torn, Amberly
9. That is priceless! Karma to you! I agree with BMustee, I would like Woody to learn to dance...
10. LOL I've never seen those before! Soo funny! :laugh:
11. Saphira and Thorn, I love those books too! Did you read the third? The fourth needs to come out ASAP!
12. I remember the three days before I got my grey, I was so excited I was very ill to my stomach and didn't sleep a wink! I kid you not! :laugh: I know how you feel and wanting to do everything right. You're off on a good foot by doing your homework I agree with fledging, and what the others have said about boys and girls being equally impressive talkers. I have a male and he talks a TON. Woody is fully flighted - I have a cat and if, if, IF godforbid something were to happen with Achillies (mah putty)and Woody I would want him to have a chance of getting away. I also live in an apartment so if he did fly out the door it would just be into a long hallway. I also prefer A/C to open windows Woody's cage is white, sometimes I wish I had gotten a darker one, but he doesn't seem to mind
13. Woody and I share cleaning time together, he shreds all my personal info (bank statements etc.) while I sweep up the shreddee's.
14. Hehe, I was going to put that as a hint, but decided to make it hard
15. Dan! You quickie, you! It is a tattoo! :laugh:
16. Hello Caz! My CAG, Woody, is a 'second hand' Grey, but you would never know it if you saw us together! When I first got him I put his cage in my study, where I spend most of my time. I spent the first two days with the door of his cage open and I was on my computer reading more about Greys and doing homework. Everything I read or was thinking I said outloud so Woody could hear me. I would stop and have my meals and I would face him and talk calmly and lovingly to him. For the first two days he wouldn't come out, he would bite my if I tried. I would lean into the cage and move slowly then move my hand (slowly) toward him. Eventually one day I held an almond to his left and my hand to his right and while he was distracted with the almond I slipped my hand underneath his feet and he stepped up - almost like he was so excited about the almond that he forgot I was 'the bad guy'. :laugh: We then moved to a new room where he couldn't see his cage so he wasn't protective of it and we did step up practice and fetch...this went on for several days...now he steps up for me anytime, anywhere and loves to cuddle and have his head scratched!!
17. Karma to the one that can solve it I come in many different colors, My price is determined by size and I'm a lifelong commitment - think long and hard before you get me. What am I?
18. I'm so glad to see it all worked out for the best! Gotta go downhill before up
19. Wow, b-e-a-utiful! I've never seen a Jardine, or really heard of one to be honest....how pretty...:woohoo:
20. Agreed. I think I'm going to try and get a double macaw cage and take the divider out, I know that I would want lots of space as well! :laugh:
21. I went to measure Woody's cage and it seems my tapemeasure has dissapeared.... so I will be stopping by walmart tomorrow to get another because I'm actually not sure on the deminsions of his cage. The one from Kings that is on Craigslist (that thread is in the grey forums) is very, very tempting....
22. Hm, sounds like a good plan! I've never seen one of these type cages so I was unsure if there was like 6" between the 'two cages' or if they was just a small divider. :unsure: I didn't know it came out....hm...:dry:
23. He got deleted and relisted. Unfortunately I'm not getting him :( His owner wants 700 for him and the cage, but she lives 4 hours away, so the drive there and back, plus the new bird exam when I get home will run about 350.00 + so all in all I would be about 1200 which is a bit more than I would want to pay right now (car winshield just broke tonight after work..BAH! :angry: ) I so hope he finds a good home...he seems like such a darling... {Feel-bad-0002006A}

Post edited by: Anmlhggr, at: 2008/10/09 04:38
