He seems excited, but now he is throwing his apples on the floor! lol Here are some pictures!

I have not be bit yet, but wow, these are some horror stories!

He just ate breakfast, he's a pig! lol I left the room to go to the bathroom and he started whistling and singing and talking to himself, it was so cute! Last night he leaned up against the cage bars and asked "Rub my neck!" My cat is sitting on the window cill a bit away from his cage. If he gets near it I have been spraying him so he knows "Get near cage = wet = I hate wet" He seems comfortable...but yet, what do I know? lol I am going to try and get him out later, when he is done eating I think. W00T! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Woody just got dropped off and settled into his new home! Achillies (my kitty) is sitting next to his cage wondering what that clicking sound is (it's Woody's toenails on the cage bars lol). Woody is looking at me, via hanging upside down on his cage top (he is inside)...now he is on his food bowl...now he's moving to his water dish..I'm glad to see he isn't cowering in one corner! :laugh: I cut up his favorite apples and put them in his bowl, although he hasn't touched them. So, I'm wondering...when can I start working/playing with him..or letting him out of his cage? I know that it might be a bit much to push it tonight, but when will I know it's 'the right time'? LOL Yes, it is only 7 hours till time to pick up Woody, and the time cannot pass fast enough!! :laugh: :woohoo: :woohoo: I can't wait to be laughed at though with his funny stories

I am still new to Grey ownership...literally this is my first day! But, I was thinking, how can I tell if Woody is eating something? Obviously he chews, but when does it cross the line to eating? If I'm not there watching him, how would I tell? :ohmy:

Alright! Today is the big day! Only 8 hours to go... I am so excited and I know my boyfriend is even if he won't admit to it! >.o

The Grey I'm adopting this week has that exact cage! Except his is white!

I'm adopting my first Grey on Wednesday at 6:30! I can't wait! He's a 6 year old and his name is Woody. I just got home from visiting him, and I have to admit, now I'm even more excited! However, I do have some questions. I've read books and articles online, but I'd also like the advice of owners. When approaching Woody, I came at him from below with my left hand, like his owner said. He reaches down and chomps my finger, rather hard too. Is this just something that will happen until he gets used to me? How can I socialize with him when I get home from work if he would rather chew my finger than step up? Also, when I first bring him home are there certain activities I should avoid? i.e: bathing etc. Are there certain ones I should practice more? i.e stepping up etc. I also have a cat. Any tips for that introduction? Thanks in advance, Amberly

So, I was reading about how to potty train your Grey, and this weirdo web site came up.... Birdy Diapers....oh my. Now, I'm still new to this, but ... these seem...you know, I just don't know what to think. Is it Genius, or is it completely ridiculous? What do you think? -Amberly

I am looking into getting an african Grey in the near future, but I want to make sure that I know as much information as possible, that way when I do get one, it will be less stressful on the two of us So, I would like to know, what is your 'secret tip'/ the thing that helped you most when you first got your Grey. -Amberly
