They are really smart! Every time my phone rings, two of the greys always shout "Hello" which is so funny and makes me laugh every time! Well done George! He is learning to get your attention;) Caroline.

That is a beautiful picture of Koko enjoying his palm nut! Out of three greys I only have one who will eat them! Strange, but I am working on it! Thanks for sharing that wonderful picture with us. Caroline.

The decision to purchase a Grey should not be taken lightly!African greys are companion creatures. Therefore you must not only decide if a grey is right for you, but if you are right for a grey! * Why do you want a parrot? Are you interested in close companionship? * Will you stay commited? Even when faced with lifestyle changes such as a job loss, new relationship, having a baby! general change of lifestyle! * Greys can be really messy! Take it from me, I have three greys and spend all day cleaning up after them all! How will you feel when they poop all over or damage your doors or your furniture? Will you be annoyed when they rip your new wallpaper? *Do you suffer with asthma or any other air-borne allergies? I was recently asked if I would consider adopting an 11 month old Cag because a member of the family suffered with Asthma! Health problems should be considered before taking a grey and maybe consulting your doctor. * Will you still love your grey if it has behaviour disorders? For example plucking or screaming? * Will you have the money for vets bills, insurance, toys, diet etc? I spend an awful lot on mine each month! You need to work out how much and could you afford this. * What if your grey favours another member of the family and not you? This can happen, and has happened to some members. Would you still have time and patience for your grey. These are just a few things I have been reading and think they are important questions to ask before the commitment is made to bring home one of these wonderful birds. Caroline

I thought that as well Sheila! Ive got to admit, Ive never thought of looking at the ingredients before! But when I read the artificial colours, I thought the same thing!

That is just soooo cute! Its really strange when they talk in your voice! One of my greys talks in my husbands voice and another one laughs just like me! They are so funny! Great with the water as well! One of mine loves to play in the sink! You will have to try and get some pictures next time! Caroline

Erika, I dont know if you get them or not. They are made by Kaytee and I give them to the boys as a treat. They look kind of like a cheesy puff crisp and come in all sorts of flavours. At the moment mine have the Zesty salsa flavour. I will find the bag and try and list the ingredients if you want me to later? Maybe there is something in them that makes Charlie change his behaviour.

Nikki, Lots of our members have more than one bird and will gladly share their experience with you on here. I have been lucky with mine. The eldest and middle greys are really bonded, they are sat preening as we speak! The middle grey will tolerate the youngest and is very jelous but I am able to have them all out together which is great! I always supervise the birds and they generally hang out in their own space! I do everything first for my eldest grey, then the middle, then the youngest. They all accept this and are used to it. Even though they are out most of the day together, I spend quality one on one time with each bird! I hope things work out well for you and your flock! Great you could join us Caroline:)

Hiya dragonheart, Its lovely of you to join us here! Are you a new grey owner or have you owned your grey for a while. Please tell us a bit more about yourself and your grey/s. Cant wait to hear more about you and maybe see some pictures! Caroline:)

My younger greys come out with me to pick the kids up from school! I always take them in their carrier's and they just love to go in the car with me! The kids think its great to have mum bring the birds to school! Their friends love to see the birds and ask lots of questions!

Pat, Everything sounds to be going really great for you! I am so pleased! He sounds like he is settling in, and adapting so easily, especially to the bathing and interaction with you. Cant wait to see some new pictures of Gizmo. Keep us posted I will check out this thread for your daily updates. Karma for your great work and patience! Caroline:)

Hiya Nikki, Welcome to the forum! You will be enjoying your little bundle of joy! Sounds adorable! My youngest grey is 5 months now and has also learnt so much in the last few weeks its amazing how quick they learn! Your other bird is bound to be feeling some jelousy at the moment with the arrival of the baby, dont worry as this is quite normal. Just make sure you do everything first for your older bird. I have three greys and have to do this all the time. Cant wait to hear more about your flock and maybe see some pictures! We love pictures on here. Hope you enjoy the forum. Caroline:)

Carolyn, Karma to you for your research:)

My two youngest greys will have a yearly check but the eldest is very nervous and I am afraid it would stress him to much. I have arranged with the vet to do a house visit for him if I ever need to. If it was urgent though and I thought for one minute he was sick I wouldnt hesitate to take him. As long as Annabella is fit and well I would think yearly would be fine.
