This is very sad news.
You have done everything possible at the moment, I would imagine you are out there searching right now.
I pray for Chikkis safe return, my thoughts are with you.
Only get another bird if thats what you really want!
I have three greys, two of them get along so well they are very close but unfortunately I have two that dont get along at all.
Out of cage time now is closely supervised or has to be done at seperate times.
You can never tell how two greys will get along its a gamble you take.
Your baby is very young and will become more independent
as she gets older. Given time she will learn to play more on her own and not be as needy.
Give it some more thought and do whats right for you:)
Pat, I cant wait to hear about Harleys home coming:)
I also have had problems with the birds chewing wood, you only have to turn your back for a minute and theres a chunk of doorframe gone!
I will be looking out for posts Pat, hope everything will go as smoothly as possible:)
I hope Cookie will be okay.
Ive got the same carrier Sheila, I also think its a good idea to use one of these. Like you say they are pretty expensive though. I think mine cost about £180 and that was a couple of years ago, I dont know what they cost now.
My eldest grey Charlie can whistle the Leeds United song, Marching on together, he has learnt the full song now and actually learnt this before he could talk.
Thanks for the update Marie, Im glad George has settled.
Try not to worry if that is possible, I know your holiday wont be the same but just remember, he is in the best place possible.
Im sure you will be in regular contact with the vets and this should put your mind at ease.
My Greys are fine with kids over the age of say 9 years old but they are terrified of kids who are younger and smaller than this!
The last time a friend of mine came with her Daughter who is 5 years old, she had to walk through the family room with the birds and they freaked! It was awful.
Maybe its to do with size as well as the fast movements, who knows?
I hope your Tag will overcome this and will be ok in the future. Every grey is different with children so hopefully its a one off:)
Welcome to the forum.
Its great to see people doing some greatly needed research before taking the plunge and adding a grey to their family.
Be sure to ask any questions!
Hope you enjoy it here:)
I am so pleased that Indy is okay!
I also use these on all my bird toys,Its very worrying to think this could happen.
Thanks for the warning and I hope Indy has a speedy recovery.
Marie, you are doing all you can to make things easier for George.
Like Sheila said, if he is not in his own cage take some perches for him as well.
I only wish I was nearer I would have loved to have had him for you.
Try not to worry (from a person who never goes away lol)
you know he is in good hands.
Enjoy your time away:kiss:
Keep us posted Sheila, I really pray his owner is found, they must be out of their minds with worry!
At least he is safe and in good hands.
I pray he ends up home where he belongs.
