Everyone or should I say non birdie friends always say to me "how can you tell them apart, they all look the same!" I took some pictures today, can you tell? Charlie=2years old very reserved. Keeko=18 months THE BOSS Jasper=15 months the baby of the bunch, very sweet. A B C Heres a rare one of them all together. Excuse the no wall paper look at the moment, the birds have helped me to strip ready for decorating lol.

He is a beuatiful boy Pat and obviously so at ease with you for letting you stroke him like that. He looks very confident in himself as well, not nervous at all. I bet he is loving his new home:)

Like they say Janet, as one door closes another one opens which for you opens into the Grey Lounge where you now offer your expertise and knowledge to others. Ana Grey is one of the sweetest babies I have seen, she has developed her own personality and thrived under your care. I love all the photos of her, its been a pleasure to see her grow into a beautiful young lady. Thanks Janet, your support has been so welcoming all the way. Karma to you for well...just being you:)

Things sound like they are going so well for you and Harley, in fact I dont think you could have asked for better Pat. I knew you would be the right person for him and bring out the best in him. Imagine what he will be like in a few months. As for the gurging Pat, Im not sure what to try. My eldest still does this for me every morning but I can cope with it once a day. Will you get some more pictures for us soon please?

I know what you mean lol. I take one of the greys to pick my kids up from school everyday, you should see the looks I get:laugh: I tell the kids when they get embarrased, your different, everyone elses mum turns up with a dog, I turn up with a parrot:laugh:

This is great news, I am so pleased for you:) Let us know how the vet check goes and how Chikki settles back in his home.

I have two cats and to be honest, the birds and cats are not interested in each other one bit! But saying that, I never leave them in a room alone together if the birds are out its not worth the risk! Lots of other members also have cats and dont have any problems either. I suppose its down to the animals and their personalities I suppose they are all different.

What a beautiful picture of your sleeping baby:kiss:

Now you know I only drink Orange juice Judy!

I know that one well Dan! Keeko (when fit and well) loves nothing more than to chase poor Jasper screaming like some kind of Banshee!!!

Your wonderful Dave! Thankyou for another lovely poem:)

I agree with the others. One of my greys dosent talk as much as the other two but he is the most affectionate out of the three and it dosent bother me at all. Your grey will learn in their own time when to talk, just enjoy them for being them, dont expect it and if it happens its a bonus!

Go ahead Dave, your always welcome anytime with your great poems, they always put a nice smile on my face:)

Well I am back with my baby after a long morning at the vets. He has soft tissue damage to his wing. He has been sent home on Metacam and Baytril. He is in his cage resting but has eaten since we came back and is preening away as I type. This is the first time I have been to see this particular vet and I was very impressed. We were in there for a good two hours, no rushing about like at some other vets Ive been to. She was worth the travelling and I am going back again in a couple of weeks with my baby Jasper for nails and a beak trim and maybe DNA as well. I found it very strange though as she has you stay in the room as she does everything with the bird which includeds the anasthetic. It was very frightening to see Keeko knocked out Ive got to say I had a bit of a panic when I saw him asleep. He had a general check while he was there and his nails trimmed as well, he was weighed and is a big boy at 497g he is the largest out of my three. I am so pleased he is home and its nothing more serious. He will be getting lots of cuddles tonight. Will keep you updated with his progress:)

I agree with Dan as well. This has happened a few times with my greys, Ive heard them flapping and the result has been the loss of flights or tail feathers. I ended up using night lights for the birds now. It seems to settle them down a little. Hopefully this will be a one of incident and wont happen again for you. I hope she is ok now.

How can make healthy meals for Star and bathe him?
casper replied to greystar's topic in The Nursery
Hi, Some Greys enjoy bathing and others hate it! Its essential though and its just finding out which method Star will enjoy. Here is an older post on bathing for you to read through. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-nursery/134348-advice-on-bathing-please.html#134348 Hope it helps. -

OMG Pat, he is just one of the most beautiful birds I have seen! He is so big and look at the size of that beak! How did he settle last night Pat? Did he go into a new cage and was he ok or did you bring him in his old one? I hope he settles ok for you Pat, please give us daily updates. I just love the pictures! Welcome to the family Harley and to your new forever home with your great, loving owner who is gonna love and care for you like the rest of her lovely fids:kiss:

I am concerned about my middle grey Keeko. Today when he has been out flying he has made a noise that ive not heard him do before, to me it sounds as though he is in pain when he is flying. He is acting normal in every other way, eating, drinking, pooping being vocal etc, I dont think hes sick but I do feel he has some injury to his wing. The only thing I can put this down to is that two of the greys brushed past each other yesterday whilst flying and Keeko lost 2 flights. At the time I didnt think much of it as Keeko was no different afterwards but Im now wondering if its possible he has done an injury to the wing. We dont have an Avian vet where I live but I have just found one in the next city to us and can get him in on Weds morning. She is highly recommended. I hope she will carry out xrays and everything which will be needed to check him out properly. I am worried he will need an anesthetic, will this be needed to do x-rays? I am keeping him in his cage till then, which will be difficult but I dont want him doing any more damage than he may have already done. I do hope its not serious and I am worrying for nothing. I trust my gut instinct though.

Post edited by: casper, at: 2009/08/05 16:23
