  1. Mark hows the baby doing? Have you phoned your vet yet?
  2. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/health-room/94277-medical-emergencybird-health-care.html Mark, I am so sorry about your situation. Your tiel desperately needs to see a vet. If you cant get to one PLEASE ring one for some advice immediatley. Above is a link we have from Dave about emergency care for our birds, it includes a section on fluids which may help. Have you tried to give the baby fluids just from your finger if your baby wont take it from a syringe? Ring any vet surgery now, they are usually very good on phone advice if you tell them your situation about not being able to get there your baby needs urgent medical attention! Dont leave it!
  3. Have been pulled today. I called in my local pet store to get some bits for the birds and talk to Bertie the too who has been there for months and there was a little CAG sat in a small cage next to Bertie. All his front is completely plucked and he was so scared and nervous:( After talking to him for a bit I asked the staff about him, his owners have gone and emigrated to New Zealand and sold him to the store before they left. I asked about the plucking and they said that when the ex owners travelled for a couple of weeks they left the grey ( called Tully) with their teenagers who pushed him up against a radiator for two weeks and that is what they came back to. They dont know much else about him except that he is about 7 years old. The pet store are asking a ridiculous price of £650.00! This is just for the grey! Im telling you my brain is working overtime since I got home, the thought of Tully shivering away in that pet store after leaving his owners is really bothering me. I know I cant take in every grey that needs a home but there is something about this little one, he needs some tlc and a loving caring home. I wish I didnt love these birds so much..........
  4. Dayo sounds like my middle grey Dan, he is the softest of the bunch but can be a terror chasing after poor Jasper! Thanks for the great photos again Dan, he is such a cutie:kiss:

  7. My birds are my life! I stay at home to be with them, plan any appointments so it dosent interfere with their out of cage time. Everything is planned around my birds! I dont go on holiday anymore as I have no one I can trust to leave them with (except my husband) so that means we dont have family holidays away unfortunately, I make so many sacrifices that people think I am crazy:laugh: Well, I think these birds deserve it so I dont really care what people think about me, maybe I am eccentric! I love my babies and thats all that counts:)
  8. Very heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast for later today! Its a lot cooler as well.
  9. Cogratulations on your new baby! Pat has given great advice on what do you with your baby. I did all those things with my babies as they were about the same age as yours when I brought them home. In time you can gradually raise the perches as they get more confident and sturdy. Try and have as much contact with your baby thats its comfortable with, its great to socialise your baby from an early age. Enjoy these early days wont you? They grow up so quickly! Check out the threads in the Nursery room, some of them you should find really useful. Keep us posted with regular updates and dont forget those all important pictures will you?

  22. Thought we could start this thread and find out what the weather is doing around the world. Just post everyday and share what the weathers doing in your area:) I am in the UK and we are having a heatwave at the moment! To us a heat wave is when the temperature is over 30 and you have got to remember that most of us dont have A/C or anything so it is very warm stuck indoors at the moment, especially as the birds are out all day and I cant open the windows! Three showers for me today and another sleepless night. Think I might have to look into some type of A/C unit, Im so warm.
