  1. Pat has given great advice. I just love the name Akima! Its very unusual and could be used for either sex as well. Roll on August when your new baby will be home and the fun will begin:)

  3. Janet, congratulations on the birth of baby Dino. I am sending my love and best wishes to all your family, you dont need to ask, my prayers are already being said! Please keep us informed of baby Dino's progress wont you? I hope that Aubrey is doing well and makes a speedy recovery as well after the surgery. These tiny babies are tough cookies Janet and little fighters, I am praying that Dino is as well. Be strong! Everyone is here for you xx:kiss:
  4. This isnt looking very good, I have tried everywhere and just cant get hold of any, so has Marie who also needs some for George. Any ideas?
  5. Thanks Dave, I just rang them and they are out of stock as well! They asked me to ring back on Monday to see if they can order some. Mollysmum, Ive not tried the smaller size so I am not sure on wether they would eat them or not. When you try the Harrisons, only order a small bag to start with which costs about £9.99, just in case your grey dosent like them. All my three eat them but it did take a while to introduce and get them used to them. I know some members have tried and their greys didnt like them though. Good luck and let us know if you decide to try them:)
  6. I normally buy mine from www.24Parrot.com Northern Parrots, but when I phoned this morning they said they are out of stock and will be for over a month. Does anyone else in the UK get theirs from a different supplier? Could you give me some details please? Thanks everyone:)<br><br>Post edited by: casper, at: 2009/06/26 17:48
  7. It holds no truth at all! With my eldest grey Charlie we used to whistle when he was a baby and he would mimic back copying the wolf whistle and other tunes, he is now 2 years old and talks up a storm as well as whistling lots of different tunes which he loves to do. I love to hear them whistling,I cant believe they would put a sign up saying this;)
  8. Beautiful Photos everyone, I just love the one with the teddy, its so cute! Here is the link JungleDreamz has told you about, its a great thread on handfeeding. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-nursery/73409-handfeeding-a-baby-grey.html

Take your time browsing round the different rooms here, you will soon get the hang of it. If you need anything just yell!
  11. These cats are just so cute! I have two and they are old ladies now, they are both 18 years old and I cherish everyday we have together as I know they may be on borrowed time. I will try and get some photos to add to this great thread:) Beautiful cats everyone.

  13. Congratulations on your baby girl, she is beautiful! I cant wait to find out what you call her:)
  14. Aww, bless him Caitlin:kiss: He sounds so sweet and quiet compared to my monsters lol. When my eldest Charlie talks he really throws his voice and shouts, probably trying to be heard in my chaotic household. We also have quite a distinct accent as well (Yorkshire, you will have to see if you can hear one)he really makes me laugh. Thanks for sharing Ecko with us he is so cute:)
  15. Hiya Dave and welcome to the forum. I also have a trio of greys. Two of mine are bonded and the youngest sometimes feels a little left out. They are the loves of my life:) Mine all have seperate cages but share their out time together. Do your bonded two share the same cage? Cant wait to share stories and experiences about our greys. Hope you enjoy the forum:)
  16. I also hope you are feeling better. This is a great reminder as the summer months are here. We have to be very careful. Even though I have darker skin I always put a high factor on when i go out side. Thanks kittykittyktty.
  17. Hiya Zazu, First of all welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new baby grey. Could you post a picture of your new baby so we can see the bubble on the back of the neck? If you are in any doubt about your baby, please go to the vet and get him checked out. Below is a link showing the difference in weeks as your baby grey develops. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-nursery/72900-the-journey-from-an-egg-in-pictures.html There is a picture of a baby about six weeks old, does your babies feathers look similiar to this? As you can see at this age not all the feathers have grown in. Please get back to us after your vet visit, there are plenty of posts in the nursery room which may help with your new baby. Please keep us posted.<br><br>Post edited by: casper, at: 2009/06/24 21:18
  18. Hiya Jasmine and welcome to the forum. Such beautiful pictures of your grey, thankyou for sharing:)
  19. It wont let me watch it Dave:(
  20. When I have trained my three I used their favourite treat which happens to be pine nuts but at the same time as giving the treat use the command you want to use. I use the birds name followed by "up". Gradually reduce the treats but always use the command so your grey associates this with the action. I think sometimes they can all be a bit stubborn though,I get the odd time one of them wont step up but the pine nuts havn't failed me yet:P
  21. Hi Virginia and welcome to the forum. What a beautiful name for your baby grey, does it have a special meaning? Hope you enjoy it here its a great place to meet other grey lovers:)
