Babies are just adorable:kiss: Good luck at your interview Nick:)

Congratulations on your baby boy:)

Congratulations on your new grey! By coincidence, I also have a grey called Charlie who cant fly:( My poor baby lost his flights in an earthquake and also lost all his confidence. He knows he is different to my other two greys, he uses body language and I can tell when he wants moving somewhere. Given time and practice, your Charlie may fly again especially watching your other grey. Just wanted to say, my Grandparents used to live in Kilmarnock and we spent many a clear morning looking over at your beautiful Scottish Island:) Enjoy Charlie, he sounds wonderful.

Connie, I am so sorry. I hope time will help heal your pain, my thoughts are with you.

I seriously hope you are joking Jamal! Would you really consider doing this to your birds? Yes, it would be great for them to live with more freedom, but a pet parrot is not a homing pigeon, there is no way you could expect them to find their way home! Dont even think about doing this to your babies:(

How do your greys treat visitors in your home.
casper replied to Janfromboone's topic in The GREY Lounge
Charlie the eldest will either be fine or will growl and take an instant dislike. Jasper the baby is fine with anyone, will accept treats etc and Ive never had a problem, but Keeko who is 15 months will shriek if anyone enters the room he dosent know! Its terrible! The strange thing is, he was the most social when he was a baby so it does make me wonder if anything has happened that I dont know about. -
Great photos Pat!

My Son has boarded the plane! long story
casper replied to CarolandFamily's topic in Off-Topic Discussions
Carol, What can I say? As a mother myself of two children there is always something to worry about especially as my daughter is going through terrible teenage years at the moment. I am so relieved that your son is safe and well and going home to his mum! It must have been so scarey for you being so far away from him and not being able to do anything! I dont know how you kept so calm! Give him the biggest hug when you see him and tell him how much you love him no matter what! I am so happy this story has a happy ending, love and kind thoughts to all your family Carol:) -
That is so sad he has had his wings clipped. Has he fledged? I cant believe th breeder did this without you knowing! You will have to see what his balance is like. Do you pick him up today?

Hi annmarie, How old is Alex? Keep the perches down low and pad the bottom of the cage with a towel if he is very young, just to cushion any falls. I used the crock lock bowls down low with my three so they had easy access to food and water. Cant wait to hear more about your new arrival:)

Lol, Jooles, I dont know wether to sing or tell you where I live:P Leeds, West Yorkshire UK A true Northern lass lol.
-
Natasha, Could you not take the Tag? If he was rehomed to you, he would have company and learn from the other two greys and your Mums neighbour could keep in touch with him:) I would maybe go have a chat with the neighbour and maybe over a coffee discuss your greys, you could give her some ideas on what she could do. Its never to late for a grey to learn, I am sure he would love some freedom and interaction. It must be terrible to be in his cage all day and it will make him very terratorial.

Ahh, you mean like mine Caitlin? My two cats are old girls now, they are both 18 years old and spend most of their days sleeping but the damage they manage to do:evil: I had a new carpet fit in the hall way and on the stairs, they have ruined it! Same with the sofa! Its a good job I dont want a show house with all these destructive pets lol:laugh:
-
Carol, that video is fantastic and i just love the picture with them both in! Yep, I think you are having too much fun with these babies lol, what did I tell you before you got them? You will never have a dull moment:laugh: They are such great babies, so sociable, curious and loving! Keep the videos and photos coming, they are great:kiss:

These comments ring so true! My three greys are my babies. I think about them from the moment I wake up to when I go to bed. They get the best I can give them. Jane, I so understand what you are saying, they change your life in so many positive ways, responsibility, commitment, companionship, loyalty and love to name a few but they do change things in your lifestyle. I sometimes feel the changes affect the relationship with my family, for example, family holidays have now gone, day trips to the seaside for a full day, fun weekends away. I always put the birds first and wont leave them. I too would feel guilty and maybe I need to learn that once in a while it wouldnt harm to have a little me time. I think if we were all honest some of us may admit to doubting our abilities they are a big commitment. I try and imagine my life without them though and I cant, they are a big part of my family and I love each one of them with all my heart, I would change the odd thing if I could but not my life with my birds.

I really wish I could buy my supplies at the local pet store but none of mine stock anything for parrots except for the cheap seed mixes. They dont really keep any toys or anything either. Its great your store will order in for you. The online company I use offer a next day delivery service at an extra cost or it normally takes 3 working days so I just try to keep in front with the pellets etc.

I have two cats but never have them in the same room together, I just wouldnt trust them. What do you mean by declawed cats? Why is this done?

Dan, I am so sorry and my heart goes out to you and Kim. I will be praying for the safe return of Jake to his home where he belongs. Please keep us updated Dan, lets hope he gets hungry and returns to his cage soon, dont give up, I know you both wont, remember there is hope he will soon be with you both and Dayo.
