Alot of birds get cranky when they are molting they want he scritches becaus they're itchy but then when you scratch it hurts so they get mad its a no win situation:laugh:

Well Adaya is up 2 grams from yesterday and she took 35cc of formula so I guess I wait and see how she does over the next few days she is still eating she loves her veggies and seed&nut mix she's not eating as many pellets as I would like her too so I started puttin some in her seed mix even though her seed mix does have pellets init anyway I would rather see her eat the Zupreem pellets my vet said either harrisons or Zupreem are the best.

I was playing with Adaya on her back this morning and I noticed that the feathers on her belly are pink I never noticed it before but they are. I tryed to take a picture to show you but its hard to see but heres the picture anyway.

She is around 12 weeks old now she was hatched the begining of Feburary

LOL your breeder is definatly one in a million she actually harness trains the baby as well. I would be supprised if she teaches them to talk also. Your going to have it so easy she will have done all the hard stuff for you so you will be able to continue raiseing them easily. I'm having a few problems with socializing Adaya to different people and stuff like that. I live with my teenage daughter who could care less about another bird in the house. I live in the middle of no where so I don't get allot of visitors. So the only way I will be able to socialize her is to start taking her everywhere with me and even at that I don't like to leave my birds for to long on my days off so I stay home allot just to spend time with them. She may just end up being a 1 person bird My bird I don't mind but it would be nice to have a bird that will allow others to touch her. Even my kids don't come out very often if I want to see them or they want to see me I have to go to them.

Well after reading this I'll be making an apointment tomorrow for Adaya I don't like the fact that she is losing so much weight either but she does eat still and she takes her formula just not as much as she did before she still eats about 25cc in the morning and the veggies and seeds in her dish and she gobbles her night time formula and takes 35 to 45 cc before bed so mabie it is just because she is fledging she flew 60 ft tonight could a sick bird do that.<br><br>Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/04/21 07:18

I agree that they should take it off the market. I take my birds into the natural sun twice a week for 15 minutes even in the winter its all they need I do have full spectum light bulbs that I have used but not often. I think natural light is better and safer.

Adaya flew 30 ft twice tonight and even turned around in mid air to go the other way. I was so shcked she kept flying from my bed to the top of my head and I kept saying no I don't want yo on my head, So I finally said so do you want to I'll take you to a room where you can fly so I took her into the livingroom ad set her down on the outside cage that sits in front of the patio doors so I caan just wheel it outside after putting the nirds into it. Any way I sat her on top of the cage a went to the other end of the room through the living room to the far end of the dining room its at least 30 ft or more. I said come on little flyer lets see you fly in a very excited voice. it tokk about 3 minutes of coaxing her and she did it she flew toowards the patio turned in mid air and flew right to me at the end of the room and then she did it again. By that time she was a little winded so I took her back to her cage. What a first flight Adaya can fly really well. now all she has to do is learn to land without crashing :woohoo: :woohoo: :laugh:

Yes she isvery young around 11 weeks old

The average weight loss is around 10 to 15% I know how scary it can be Adaya has gone from 470gr down to 427 grms over this last week the only hand feeding she will take is her night time one and only about 30 to 35cc of that she eats her food but Iwould love to see her eat more it scares me. She's acting normal in every way so if her weight doesn;t stableize I'll be takeing her in as well

I'm so so so sorry I feel your pain and you have my heart felt sympathys. I know how much love you have for these little guys. He's out of pain now and flying free over rainbow bridge take heart one day you will see him again.

Im glad you all like her new name it was a toss up between Amya or Adaya so I flipped a coin which one do you like best.

OMG he is just TOOOOO CUTE you'll have to call that one TC short for TOO CUTE LOL what a little sweetheart I just love them at that age they are just so loveable they can't get enough cuddles and hugs and its so hard to put them down or to leave hem even for a few minutes your so lucky to be able to raise him I don't think anything is more worth while than to bring up a baby bird and keep him healthy and happy. Aren't you just haveing the time of your life.

I put a dish of dry cockateil size pellets zupreem fruity in his box in a small dish around 6or7 weeks she loved to crunch them up I don't know if she actually eat any but she sure liked chewing them into powder I asked my vet about it and she said it was good practice for her for weaning time.

Tyco's favorite by far are granola bars and canberry juice,brazil nuts,walnuts,life cereal,and pomagranate, She love scrambled eggs,brocolli,and romaine lettace the Romaine she also treats as a toy while she eats it. I give her a whole leaf and she shakes it and takes a bite smashes it and takes a bite and its so funny to watch she will beat the living crap out of the lettace leaf all the while eating it at the same time. Silly bird.

Is going to be so easy for Adaya. I put a harness on her this morning after breakfast and she just stood there as if to say what are ya doing mom but after it was on she didn't fuss or try to chew it or anything. Thats the cutestest thing Ive ever seen it looks like Slater is trying to play daddy to Echo. AWWWW. The toy you made really keeps Echo amused but be careful of those kind of bells birds can get their beaks or toes caught in the slits and then panic and hurt themselves. I heard horror story's of Birds chewing off heir toes to get them free from those bells. when your not home please take that toy out of her cage.

It looks like your going to have one very easy take it all in stride little boy and one little girl thats going to keep you on your toes. I won't be long and I can hear you saying to Ahmani why can't you be more like your brother:laugh: as you chaseing her away from your computer because she keeps pulling the buttons off the key board. Or away from yet another Tv remote that she wants to destroy:laugh: I can see it all now. My laptop is now missing the space bar and the back space button thanks to my little darling baby girl oh well you gotta love em. bless their little hearts. They sure are getting cute.

Oh I remember that 5 weeks ago whe they are staring to get so curious about everything. Its so much fun and such a blessing to raise your own baby. I know that it doesn't matter weather or not you or the breeder hand feeds the baby will still bond to you after its been weaned but the bond I feel towards my little one is just so intense because I raised her from a featherless little baby. She is like my own human baby the bond is unconditional love But they grow up to darn fast. enjoy your baby it won't be long til he/she won't need you as much. my baby is starting to wean now and she wants so badly to eat on her own. she still takes 2 1/4 feedings a day but that morning feeding gets harder and harder to give her. I guess a couple more weeks and the hand feeding will be done I going to really miss it. Its such a bonding time for us. :cheer:

The only thing I can suggest is lots of bahs and mabie after a good soaking a light spray af Aloevera juice. Greys have dander and at time its very heavy I have noticed this with my Grey as well latley. I don't know what else you can do about it.

OMG you poor thing and your poor sweet baby. I so hope and pray for a mirical. I will pray hard and ask God to touch your sweet grey and heal him. I'm so sorry to hear this and I don't know what else to tell you ask yor vet if there is anything he could do or try that might work. Again my heart goes out to you.
