I ordered an adventure pack for Tyco as I don't beleive I'll ever be able to harness train her. Adaya has had her harness on a few times now and she doesn't like it much but puts up with it. I'm sure once she conects it to everytime I put it on we got out she will learn to love it. Tyco will never allow me to put it on her I would be torn to bits if I even atempted it and then she'd never talk to me again so I figured an Adventure pack is the only solution if I want to bring her with me. Where do you live that they allow birds in Grocery stores. Up here in Canada there is no way they think there going to contaminate eveything. I can take her everywhere else but the grocery store is a complete NONO

Thats great and its just wonderful that Shaka Zulu took to it so Quickly he was probubly dieing to get out of that tiny clostraphobic space that he was in for so long. I think thats why Tyco took to her new cage so fast also she just wanted to get out of there so bad. I said the other day that Raja and Adaya had become good friends Raja is my Indian ring neck he is also a baby he's 11 months old and him and Adaya seem to always want to be together. this is a picture of them kissing between the bars of Adayas cage. I don't know if she likes it or not at this age I don't give her much choice. I put her in a big bowl of water and wash her down she just sits there and lets me do it then I get her out and towel dry her thats it. take me all of 5 minutes. I don't really think she likes it but she tolerates it. she trusts me so she lets me do anything she knows I won't hurt her.

I haven't really had a chance to see how my other birds are going to react to Adaya yet because she's so young and could get hurt if they decide to attack her. They have been really good when she is with me and they are out playing but if I'm not right with her I don't let her out of her cage. Well today I was in the kitchen and she was with me on the playstand in there waiting for me to finish making her formula. All of a sudden she flew into the bedroom and landed on Tyco's cage I stood at the door for a few minutes just to see what Tyco was going todo she didn't do anything she just stood there 2 inches away from her and looked at her. Then I went over to pick up Adaya and Adaya was just going to step up onto Tyco's boing so I reached in and Tyco lunged at me as if to say leave her alone she wants to play she didn't bite me but she didn't want me to take Adaya from there either. Pretty neat I thought since where talking Tyco's personal property here and she was allowing Adaya access to it. I wished I had a camera handy it was definatly a kodak moment. {Feel-good-000200BB}

They may allow them in the cargo area most airline do you just have to make sure that you have an airline approved crate they can give you something to show you what it must have.

I'm so happy happy happy I prayed so hard and sent healing thoughts your way. You have no Idea how releived I am that Eli is happy and playing again thank goodness.

If it does turn out to be an alergy to Ana mabie the Doctor can suggest a once a day antihistemine for her that might help I am somewhat alergic to the dander as well and I find with two air cleaners and a antihistimine I do just fine. There is no way I'm about to give up my baby's because of some stupid alergy. Good luck I hope the meds clear this up for you and you baby's sake.

I don't think so they sell aloe vera juice in health food stores or pharmacys in the stomach remedy isle.

Yes by all means talk to them like you where teaching your child to talk Tyco is 6 now and she assosiate and knows allot she knows what most fods are by name and asks for them if she see them or knows I have some like apple or chicken, popcorn, macaroni and cheese eggs fresh water. and lots more she also gets into conversation and she will tell the dogs to stop barking or she will call them by name and say something like Gloria(shith-zu) wanna treat and then throw a peanut or something out of her dish for her. They are very intellegent and can learn allot just by listening and watching what you do and they will learn todo it also.

I have no problems Tyco is a rescue and when I got her I had my 19 yr and my 11 yr old at home. Tyco loves my now 21 year old daughter and she taught Tyco many fun games. as for my now 13 year old. Tyco has learned how to mimic her voice perfectly and many times I have heard MOM MOM COME HERE and went to see what my daughter wanted only to have her look at me like I had totaly lost my mind and it was Tyco calling me. they don't interact much except for Tyco putting her 2 cents worth in when Andraya asks my for something Tycos answer is usually NO!! LOL Andraya is kinda afraid of Tyco but she gets a kick out of her because she talks so well and just like her but there isn't a problem with biting or attacking or anything like that. Tyco was a rescue also and that make a big difference she was re homed 3 times before me and the last home was with a crack head that hated her she was locked in a cockateil size cage in a back room with a horse blanket over her cage. her cage was never cleaned and she had nothing. So you can't expect her to behave like a baby that has never known anything except love. Adaya is totaly different than Tyco Adaya steps up for my daughter and she can pet her and thats the way your baby's will be also. later They may decide that they like one person more than the rest but that doesn't mean they won't except any others.

This is all very true My birds all talk some also scream in the morning when the sun comes up My Amazon and Macaw scream very loud and Tyco's cage is right next to hers but she doesn't imatate her in fact she tells her to be quiet that enough of that. I think if anything your grey will have every one of your birds talking I had a little cockateil that thought he was an african Grey and said and did everything Tyco did. My Indian ring neck is comeing up with a few words now also but he seems to be learning them more from my Amazon than my Grey and he sound just like my zon when he talks.

I hope your husband doesn't have to man problems with dander at time it can get excessive. an aircleaner will help alot if it bothers him. how old is kiki? Why do you have to wait 3months to have DNA testing done I had Adaya tested at 6 weeks old.Welcome to the family we love new members. Why don't you introduce yourself in the wecome room and mabi post some pictures of your baby we love pictures and videos.

Tycos the same way if its past bedtime even by 5 minutes Tyco will start saying night night until I tuk her in and kiss her good night. what I'd like to know is who taught her how to tell time because she knows precicly when it 9:00pm and thats bedtime and the night nights begin.

My Adaya had a bath she was very wet so I put her in the Kitchen in a nice sunny spot to dry off. She thought flapping her wings like crazy would be a better way to dry off.

Thats so great Adayas not very good at picking spots to land yet. I was making scrambled eggs for them this morning and Adaya was helping me I just tookthem out of the microwave and put some in Gizmos and Rajas dish and walked out to put their dishes in their cages and Adaya decided she didn't want to wait for hers so she flew over and landed right in the middle of the scrambled egg bowl dumped it onto the floor what a mess so i moved her back to the playstand and she sat there quietly eating the eggs off her feet LOL the dogs cleaned up the mess and I made some more eggs for the rest of the birds. :evil: :laugh:

The eggs and the beans and rice I started at about 8or 9 weeks and mashed sweet potatos stuff like that and by the time she was 10 week she was eating everything I put a small bit of soaked seeds in her dish around 8or 9 weeks also. You can sprout seed if you want its really good for them and apparently they like it I didn't have time because I work 4 days a week.

Yes they do gain fast don't they. I feed her half big zupreen pellts and half cockateil size that way she can decide if she wants a big chew or a little chewLOL she also gets scrambled eggs. bean and rice mash cooked and fresh veggies of every kind, I hang whole romaine lettace leaves in her cage she eats and plays with them at the same time she loves it. She also loves cooked corn on the cob. she isn't big on the birdy breads yet but she loves broccoli around 8weeks I staeted chopping brocolli up and putting it in her dish she went crazy for it you should try it. Adaya was up on her weight by 5 grams this morning and she had a empty crop I offered her her formula and she gobbled down 40cc so I was very pleased then she went for a fly around the living room a couple times and went to sleepLOL

Well I weighed Adaya this morning and she is up 5 grams on an empty crop I would say my baby is weaned I'm going to still offer her Formula for the next couple days but it will probubly be a waste of time and Formula but I don't mind wasting time with my baby. It was so funny this morning I always get Adaya up first to have her formula and this morning she flew over to Tyco's cage and was sitting on the boing that hangs next to Tycos cage all of a sudden I hear go away night night the go away a couple more times I guess Tyco wanted to sleep and Adaya was keeping her awake:laugh:

I fed Adaya on demand when she was hungry I fed her she was on 3 feedings a day up until a couple weeks ago then she started refusing all her hand feeding except her night time one she would take 10 or 20cc of the other 2 and tats about it so I started to really check her crop often and watch how much she was eating it scared the daylights out of me because she lost 50 grams in about a week. then she fledged. and her weight started to stablize and she was staying at the same weight and has been now for four days I still offer her formula but she takes very little now last night I felt her crop and it definatly had food in it it wasn't like formula though it wasn't soft and mushy you could feel that she had eaten quite a bit so I put her on the scale just to see how much was in there before I offered her her night time feeding and she had already eaten 15grams on her own I offered her some formula but she only took about 15 to20cc so I'm going to see how things go over the next week and if she's holding her weight then I'll classify her weaned.
