shew yeah Cosmo has been like Josey though he never has had any problems on my shoulder. He will usually mess with my hair and he does it very very gently. Chicken though (the goffing cockatoo) she is a little odd around me anyway. Sometimes she is loving as can be and will snuggle with me and other times she wants to break my fingers. It was hard to not show a reaction last time though. I bit my lip and held out though haha.

Just wanted to hear everyone's hardest bite story. We all have one that a bird bit us hard I am sure. Mine happen today actually, I was holding my friends 5 year old Goffin Cockatoo and she climbed on my shoulder I didn't want her up there for the fact I don't trust her haha. I went to get her to step up on my finger, but she decided she wanted to stay on my shoulder. Next thing I knew my hand was full of blood and my middle finger was pouring blood and throbbing. I'm thankful she went for my finger instead of my ear though.

yeah the stand was actually discounted 40% so I paid like $7 for it. It has been worth it. It is a temp until I get enough money for a perch on wheels I can take in my room. but it works good now. Well I have to take a lot of pictures, I enjoy him soo much. I haven't gotten to spend much time with him the last couple of days, my gf's grandmother passed and I haven't been home. I have missed him, but I think he has been okay. He will usually run and practically leap on my finger to take him out of his cage haha.

Thanks, yeah he kept wanting the keys. He was listening pretty well though, he would look agurvated when I told him No though haha. One time he fell trying to get the keys and landed in my lap. It was pretty funny. Thanks for all the comments. I am enjoying him, he is the best friend I have ever had

It has stayed in the 30-50s range here. So it is cold but not horrible. Yeah I usually keep the heat on.

Tonight when I came home 2:10am (I know it's late) but, I pass right beside Cosmo's cage going to bed (not unusual). I usually wake him up, so I normally just tell him I'm sorry for waking him rub his head and beak tell him I love him and good night. Well tonight when I got back I came through a different door and did the usual I walked up and he was already awake. I put my finger in scratched his head and told him the usual good night. I started to leave and he fell. I waited to make sure he was okay. Then he did it again, this time it looked like he was trying to fly. He climbed back up and did it again. I was really worried I opened his door and he jumped out and tried to fly he landed okay, and I picked him up. He was kind of shaking so I held him close and talked to him. I did this for about 30 min. then I tried to put him up. He wouldn't step off my finger for anything. I held him a little longer then I put him back this time I finally got him to step down. It is 3:52 now, and I just got in my room. I have been waiting beside him for an hour to make sure he goes on to sleep. He finally started closing his eyes, so I'm guessing he is fine? Do you think that I scared him, and he was just startled?

Yeah it does, I know they hold a grudge really well. When I misted (beside) him he freaked and wouldn't have anything to do with me that whole day. I will wait it out, I would like to get a shower perch so I can let him choose to go to the water like you said.

I am trying to show him that the shower water doesn't hurt me, right now. I have tried misting him and he defiantly didn't like that. Do you think I should try lowering him into the water while on my hand?

haha yeah I need his shower perch so he can get a little wet when he wants.

I know you wasn't trying to be rude. Well it's not only how they were treated, I have always wanted to work in a pet store. I agree totally I would gain more knowledge at a rescue and I wish there was one around here. Thank you for your suggestions though it means a lot.

I would love to work at a rescue Ziggy, however there isn't a close one to where I live. I think that I would do fine in a pet store, sure I am learning. But you have to start somewhere. If I don't know an answer I would defiantly look it up, not give them some bs. I don't think the High School question was intended for me but, I am in my 3rd year of college.
