Now I can touch Cosmo anywhere as long as he is in his cage. Outside his cage he doesn't let me touch him at all really, a little but he kind of walks away from me. I guess slowly he will let me? I will keep working with him, hopefully he will step up for me some more.

He grabs the back of the cage when I push up on his chest.

I have been trying to get Cosmo to step up all day to come out of his cage. He will let me scratch his neck the entire time but refuses to step up. If I leave the door open he tries to get out but can't figure out how. I go to help and he goes back in his cage. I really hope I didn't untrain the little guy.

Great update, even though I haven't been here for the rest of it. Shew pray for me, I have to go through the little kid stage haha. I'm sure I will enjoy it! Can't wait to see pictures

haha alright, he was on his play stand too letting me scratch his head, so I think he is starting to come around.

Tonight I got even closer to Cosmo, I am able to do the head and neck scratch. He loves it, he will put his head down every time I stick my hand in there waiting for a scratch then he will make a funny little noise during it. Kind of like a sigh, I think I read it was a sign of comfort. Me looking up and Cosmo, well being Cosmo Here is the video for everyone. again if you see anything wrong please tell me

Great that makes me feel wonderful. Tonight was another good night, I opened his door and started like I did through the bars. I worked my way to scratching his neck. Boy did he like it, he about fell off his perch he was putting his head down so far :laugh: I scratched his neck and head for about 20 min before I got tired and he became hungry. haha Thanks for all the tips guys, I know every bird is different, I just hope he isn't becoming a one person bird. My girlfriend has worked all day for the past 4 days and when she gets here he is sleeping, I learned the painful way to not bother him then!! And I was just changing his food dish where the little rat pooped in it haha.

I have his birth date, of July 17th. Unless I have been lied to, which I don't think I have. Yeah I guess I need to watch for stuff like, sometimes I guess he's too cute to fuss at:laugh:

Well I tried to do it again this morning and he did bite hard I think he is in a bad mood today for some reason. He is still being kind of a butt hole. I will try some more later. For some reason he bit hard first when I put my finger in there like he was being protective over something. I'm not sure what's wrong, I was so shocked I forgot to tell him no.

I thought you were suppose to let them "taste" your fingers?

he is just tasting it, not nibbling. he licks it and doesn't put any pressure on it.

Welcome to the forum. CAG and TAG like many have said are the same except for size, tail color, break color, and I have heard that CAG can sound just like how their owner talks. The TAG can't but will talk, and is just as intelligent.

I was sitting beside his cage like usual just sweet talking him. When I decide I'm going to let him taste my fingers I do, it leads to him letting me rub his beak. Spend more time with him, then I get to rub under his eyes beside his beak his neck and head. I'm soooooo excited right now, I just had to share!! I wanted to show you guys so bad I took a video haha.

He seems to do fine on them, I just now put the pedicure perch in there, he doesn't seem to get on it as much though. I am getting new toys to alternate Wednesday or I should anyway, I hate waiting on orders haha. He usually climbs on top of his cage and slides down to all his perches and he stays on the wood swing one the most. He has fell a few times but he was climbing around the cage and it wasn't due to his wood perches. I will defiantly keep that in mind though thank you for pointing that out. Please if anyone ever sees anything questionable please say something. Like I said I'm new to this and would love to learn as much as I can. I was eating some banana today and usually he didn't like it but, it decided to try one more time. Since I was beside the cage I grabed a chunk off the bottom of the banana and coated it on my finger and stuck it inside his cage. He tasted it, and went back and ate all of it off my finger. He didn't try to bite me or anything. He did mumble what seemed to be hello though . I gave him a cut slice of banana and he wouldn't eat it. So apparently I have to smash it up on my finger and let him lick it off. I gave him a few more bites and let him eat some of his pellets, don't want him off his pellet diet

It's normal, they have their good days and bad days. Just as long as he is eating and drinking okay then you should be fine. He will probably be acting normal by tomorrow. Though if his "depressed" manor continues, he may be sick, and should be checked out.

Okay neat, I was just wondering. Sometimes to me they look like they are lighter gray, but other times they look the same. Must be the light.

He is 4 months, he will be 5 months the 17th. When does his eyes change color?

I actually play with him like that I get him on my hand, hold him up really high and drop my hand (not really fast) and he will flap then I bring him to my chest and stops (like he landed) he seems to enjoy it. Today he discovered my fingernails and he trys to chew them off or take them off. He bites them hard and pulls I have told him no severel times and give him the evil eye. When he gets to the skin part of my finger he doesn't bite. Just on my nail, I tell him no and sometimes he stops. I'm afraid if I put him up and ignore him he will think one of the following. A. If I bite his nails he will put me up YAY!! I'll do this all the time. or B. My cage is a punishment, I never want to go in there. I know Judy you said to put him up and ignore him, but isn't it possible right now where he isn't fully bonded to me, he doesn't mind being ignored?
