It's not much but, it's Cosmo stretching.

Post edited by: briansmum, at: 2007/12/04 00:28

okay I snapped a few, he was a sleepy baby though.

I have had him for a week, he is doing great! My only concern right now is if I am trying to go too fast with him. Some times when I get him out he fusses a little not biting or anything just screeching. I tell him to step up several times and lift my hand he will usually obey and come on out. Though a couple of times he doesn't and I leave him alone for awhile and try again. Eventually he steps up and doesn't grab anything (the side of the cage). The only thing I have ever fussed at him over well I just said NO! and looked at him angrily is when he would start to fly, it seems that is starting to work. I will tell him no and he will lower his wings and just sit on my lap. Does it seem like I am showing him I am boss, and not scaring the crap out him? Pics coming soon, I just got a pedicure perch and want him to check it out, so I am waiting for him to figure out how to get up to it.

Post edited by: jimmycoop2005, at: 2007/11/25 00:57

I'm not sure, I am going for his first check up in a week or so. I guess we will see then

Awesome, I am young like you. I am 20, and I wanted a pet that could be my "life partner" no matter what happens in life it will be with me. I have that now, and it seems like you do too. Except yours is already more attached to you haha lucky, mine is still being well.... a baby.

Yeah he was fine this morning I stayed up half the night by his cage just watching him sleep. I am worried over nothing, I got him out this morning and he was fine. Sorry for the alarm.
-
Oh okay, I was just wondering. I will probably try some healthy treats for him. Thanks for all the ideas

I hope so I worry an awful lot.

When I got home tonight it was like 12 and Cosmo was perched on his food bowl, which is weird he usually sleeps on his swing. I opened his cage and he had pooped in his food dish, so I put my hand in there to try and put him on his swing while I changed his food out. he didn't want to step up and usually when I do get stern with him he listens, I picked up his good foot and he finally stepped up. I looked him over to see if he fell and hurt himself and he looks fine. I put him back in but he went back over to where he was so I couldn't get to the food dish. I again tried to get him to step up and again he refused this time he bit at me not hard just kind of warnings. I kept it up trying to be as stern as I could and finally got him and sat him down far enough I could get it out quick enough I dumped his food out and put new in. He took a couple of bites and went back on the food dish perched. Maybe he is just sleepy I don't know, it just concerns me.

I know, I was just looking for ideas to find out what he likes. I have tried a few things. Never thought of cheese though, I was told strictly no dairy. The almonds he may like. He is on an all pellet diet, the roudybush (sp) so I figured he would like a lot of things. I'm not going to take him off of the rb though.

Yeap he sure does have some red factor, I hope he doesn't molt it out. It is very pretty, but if he does then he will still be just as handsome. haha if i had to keep running him to his stand everytime he had to poop I wouldn't have any bonding time haha. When he starts going to sleep it's all I can do to keep still to keep him sleeping haha. Thanks for the comments, there will be plenty more photos soon.

He is awesome, looks like you will have a regular chatterbox on your hands before too long. I can't wait to hear Cosmo mumble
-
thank you very much, how is your baby?
-
Great pictures how warm is it where you live? I couldn't take Cosmo outside without having a towel around him to keep him warm.
-
What do you guys use? I have tried carrots, bananas, and sunflower seeds. He didn't like the bananas the carrots take too long and he wouldn't eat the seeds...
-
Well here are a few new pictures for this wonderful forum. He is starting to warm up to me, he took a nap on my hand today while we were watching tv. I had him out of his cage for about 4 hours straight, so that is the longest he has been out. More than half that time was spent on my hand or lap. Well hope you all enjoy these.

Yeah, I am just worried. Thanks for all the help. This morning he was kind of hard to get out but I finally did. He has been on his perch for about an hour cleaning himself. So I think he is fine now.
-
Okay I will start trying that. I need to find a good treat for him, I have been using carrots but it takes him too long to chew it. I may try peanuts or already cracked sunflower seeds

This morning I got Cosmo out he was fine, I played with him and pet him and put him on his play stand. He stayed up there for about 15 minutes, and I tried to give him a bath by misting him with a spray bottle. I sprayed him a couple of times and he backed away and I knew he didn't approve of it. So I stopped he then flew off his stand and glided down to the floor. I picked him up (he came to me) and I put him in his cage. I talked to him for about 30 min. went on here, went back talked to him again and he got next to me and started going to sleep. I let him nap then later I saw he was playing I tried to get him out to put him on his stand and he would put one leg up and grab his cage with the other. I thought okay he doesn't want out right now. I left him alone and went on doing homework came back an hour later he was eating I talked to him for a few minutes and tried again to get him out. He did the same thing. I left him alone and just sat beside him and talked to him. He was fluffing up his feathers (I heard that is a sign of being uncomfortable) so I left him alone again. Now I am wondering if I have done something wrong?
