1. shew I couldn't find anything on google after you told me that. I know there is another bird just called "red factor" so I was worried. Thank you so much for explaining it. The search on the forum helped a lot. Thanks can't wait to bring him home. leaning toward the name of Rocko or Peanut right now
2. He is still a congo though right?
3. I'm confused why do you keep saying red factor?
4. judygram wrote: No I didn't, I haven't seen him yet in person. He is about 3 hours away from me. I will see him probably next week when I go down and pay him off. Thanks for all the comments everyone.
5. Well I will my deposit on this lovely fellow tomorrow, he is a sexed male, he is just weaned and is a little of 4 months old. I should pick him up in a couple of weeks.
6. Thank you everyone, yes I am very heart broken right now. I just keep thinking about it and I keep getting very depressed. I was sooo close to getting a Grey. Christina that story was wonderful, thank you very much. I am sure I will find another Grey to fall in love with
7. Yeah it was a horrible accident, thank you.
8. I know, the breeders are great people. I know they wouldn't do anything wrong, especially to hurt or kill one of their birds.
9. I went up there last night, and I didn't even ask for my money back he just gave it to me. He said he is terribly sorry, he said it looks like he might have accidentally chocked on a peace of bedding while he was taking his cousin to work. Beaker was the only one in his clutch, but he did say if one of the other pair of Timnehs have any babies, I can have one for free. I am pretty sure they are telling the truth, both of them seemed to be very upset. When I got back home last night my dad had been looking for another bird, but can't really find any breeders. Anyone know any good ones?
10. I have been impersonating Jack Sparrow to get a little more cash, I had a gig today finished it, went to pay the breeder the rest of the money I owe on Beaker. My girlfriend called first, and said that he died this morning. She told me and I was in shock forever, now I'm just very depressed. Poor little guy :( :( :(
11. It's really sad. They said that his chest has healed greatly, they just need to keep him from picking at it. That is exactly how Peaches is though, he is still as sweet as can be.
12. Yeah, it's crazy too, because he is the sweetest thing ever. He is very skittish of loud noises though, guess he was yelled at a lot or something
13. spookyhurst wrote: Thank ya, yeah the breeder actually named him that, but I like it . I know, especially spending that much money on a bird, then abusing it makes me really mad. But like you said he has a good home now, the breeder takes very good care of him.
14. Thanks everyone for the nice words. I can't wait to take him home I'm soooo excited.
15. I forgot to post the picture of Peaches, it is up now. He came from an abusive home, that is why he has the mark on his chest. He picks at it, the breeders say it looks a lot better now. I hate people that could do that to a sweet bird like that. It's very hard to leave him there hah, we are trying to bring him up so he will like more than just one person. Hopefully we are doing everything right. He is starting to be able to walk pretty well now, it is soo funny seeing him trying to walk haha
16. Well I am about ready to take the little guy home, I misunderstood the breeder. He is actually 10 weeks old, he is weening right now. My girlfriend and I played with him for about an hour and a half tonight. Petting him everywhere to show that hands are friends, and I would occasionally turn him over on his back so he will understand it isn't a bad thing later on down the road. my girlfriend and Beaker Peaches and I again, I love this guy even though he bit me today an amazon shrieked and scared him he dug in my wrist. My arm fell kind of fast and he bit my arm to hold on so he wouldn't fall. It was my fault though, I feel bad about almost dropping him but my natural reflex of let go when something was hurting me kicked in before my brain. I guess I'll learn to do better.

Post edited by: jimmycoop2005, at: 2007/11/02 17:37
17. www.birdcages4less.com free shipping, awesome prices
18. how old is he? he looks great. You need a cage that he can at least spread his wings out fully without hitting the sides of the cage and feeling cramped.
19. It doesn't even matter to me if I get him, I just want him out of a pet store and in a home. It breaks my heart to see him like that.
20. Okay sit back and relax this is a long story. As you know I recently got an African Grey, however this wasn't what I first fell in love with. I was trying to get a 5 year old Goffin Cockatoo from a local pet store. My girlfriend and I would go in there about everyday for a couple of weeks and spend a couple hours with Festus (goffin) he was awesome. He got to where it didn't matter where I was in the room he would try to get on my shoulder. it was apparent that he was starting to love me. I told the pet store I would come in the next day and give them a deposit, the next day I went in they said he was sold. I was mad and didn't go back for a few days and I noticed he was starting to look bad. I asked if the person who bought him payed yet, they said no. I played with him for about 30 min. left and went back about 2 days later. Now he had started picking his feathers his chest was starting to become bald. I then found mites in his food, and his water was filthy. I was outraged, I told them to change his water and food now! I went to the owner and told him to sell him to me that it isn't fair for him to live in a pet store. He said that he decided to not sell him at all. He draws in too many people, the owner freaking thinks he is a mascot! I don't know what to do... I will show you some pictures of him, you can see when he started preening. Which has since then led to feater picking and itching.
21. Thank you very much. Peaches is the first Mulican (sp) Cockatoo I have ever held. He was the sweetest bird ever!
22. I'm right on the Tennessee West Virginia border haha. Not sure if you have heard of it but I'm from Tazewell. Oh trust me there will be plenty of pictures, I will make you guys tired of seeing pictures haha
