  1. Well for some reason I couldn't get the video to load, it said done and yet nothing was there. Anyway, I know Grey's are more intelligent than Quakers. And I have to say that I have been trying to teach my husband's quaker to say this one phrase for over 9 years now! But yet I'm the one she mimics all the time! Almost all the words she says, are things I say. So if that tells you anything at all lol. I think she knows what I'm trying to teach her is bad lol. I told her I would just get my SweetHeart to say it to her lol. But that is my experience lol. Not exactly a Grey, but they will only learn what they want to in my opinion lol.
  2. That is interesting Raposa! It is neat how things work like that. SweetHeart was going to be Sugar before we got her. I had the name all picked out and saw the pictures weekly and said yep there is my sugar! But the breeder Wendy had named her Heart. I asked her why, and she said that she really took a piece of her Heart knowing she was going to have to leave. I was still going to stick with Sugar. But than when we had the very very very bad experience with the 13 hour flight to get Heart/Sugar when I saw her I just kept calling her SweetHeart. Telling her "Oh SweetHeart it will be ok baby!" cause after the mishap we had, she was very upset and understandably. So she became my little SweetHeart. And is finally living up to her name lol. That is our little story!
  3. OH wow! 13 weeks! Yes hon she is still very young! Some babies it just comes natural to them to know how to play. Others have to be shown, "Look at mommy/daddy playing with this ball and rolling it around" She has plenty of learning time still ahead so don't stress. Your not doing anything wrong at all! Just every day when you have her with you play with one of her toys in front of her. Act like you are having a grand ole time lol. She will want to join in the fun eventually. Even if she doesn't seem interested the first few times. My quaker still doesn't play and she is 12. SweetHeart is 9 months old now and she will take her keys or her bell that she has and play around with them a bit, but nothing major. She is still learning herself. If she is eating more of the other things than I would not worry about the baby food in the morning anymore. She is letting you know she is moving on to her young adult hood. And honestly mine is 9 months old and still have never heard her laugh. So don't worry on that either. It will come with her, just give her some time. And trust me I can't express time enough lol. It will seem like forever, but she will start playing with you finally and interacting. Just remember to keep reading and getting all the info you can, and that you aren't doing anything wrong. We are here for any kinds of questions, so just ask away if you need to and than again we are here for the great ups and downs of any story as well. So keep us updated!

  5. lol you guys are funny! Ssshhh I'm trying to get mine too lol
  6. Yes I have to agree I know soo well how excited you are! I was waiting for our SweetHeart and we have had her now for 4 months. We are now getting a baby Goffin Cockatoo in the beginning of April maybe end of March and we just can't wait! It's still exciting lol.
  7. Yes the dark could easily do it. And Tracy, Jessie completely agrees with you on wishing they could all have them the same day. He's hoping that living with me and our daughter that when it's her TIME that we are in the same week so he doesn't have to deal with it all the time lol. Men! Sorry got off topic lol
  8. LOL I haven't had too much of that yet, SweetHeart is just starting to hang out with me. I did get one the other day though for the first time. My daughter grossed out big time, cause I said "Oh my that was very juicy!" She just completely grossed out! She is only 12 lol. So I guess I do have a little story too lol.
  9. Well this is interesting! What have I been missing out on!? Today is a snow day in Wirt County WV! Temp is only about 22 and it's suppose to get down to 14 tonight. We were snowed in on the hill and couldn't get off lol. Kids had fun playing in the snow! and mud lol. It was pretty weird, it wasn't frozen out, still kind of muddy! Well it's 5:30 pm here now. Got to help hubby cook some dinner!
  10. LOL Muse thank you! I think your little Sweet Pea is just adorable!
  11. That Was one thing I was hoping she wouldn't pick up, and so far SweetHeart hasn't. She does do this one thing though that sounds like Molly, but thank god it's not the running back and forth yelling lol.
  12. Imme that is great! Your little girl/guy is very pretty/handsome! Can't wait till you bring your baby home and share with us! Look forward to seeing more pics. And the cage size is just fine! Especially if you can let your Grey out as much as possible than it doesn't matter a whole lot for just a sleeping cage. Of course no little canary cages lol. But that cage seems just fine either way. Good Luck and hope to hear more!
  13. That is great Muse! Glad to hear she is coming around for you! And to hear the beginnings of first words! That's awesome! Thanks for sharing!
  14. And LOL Judy! I know you knew, was just being funny and getting to post lol. I figured you living out in the country would know lol.
  15. No I haven't had duck. Jessie wants to make that thing they call TurDuckHen. But we haven't had it yet. We have looked into getting some peacocks this year actually Berna. But afraid the raccoons will eat them! They are around $75 a piece and that is just too much to see eaten! Or run away lol.
  16. And here is just a little more on him lol The Cayuga takes its name from Lake Cayuga, New York which makes it one of the few duck breeds with an United States origin. The Cayuga is a quiet duck that is very hardy and is known primarily for its brilliant “beetle” green plumage. The hens, which weigh 5 to 6 pounds, lay a light blue or gray egg and the males grow to between 6 and 7 pounds. Ducklings have black feet and bills, black down, and have an occasional trace of yellow on their breast. Just being funny! But it is a little about him lol.
  17. Oh and just to inform you Judy My ducky isn't a mallard! lol Here is a pic of a Mallard duck My ducky is a Cayuga! lol So he isn't just any duck!{Feel-good-0002006E}
  18. Yes she sure is! She is taking a bath in her dish right now lol I was hoping she would teach SweetHeart a few things. All except the yelling back and forth on her perch lol{Feel-good-00020114}
  19. LOL well from the look of it anyway, I'll at least place 2nd lol.
  20. Oh my how cute!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love puppies!!!
  21. No you don't lol! Trust me Molly makes some noise lol I swear she was a cockatoo in her past life!
  22. Well that's not fair! lol Babies are always cute! She is a cutie though! But how often do you see a fuzzy footed chicken and a green headed duck? lol
  23. Thanks for the Karma girl! And yes Molly does more talking in her cage but shuts up every time I get my camera out lol. And that noise that she made at the start and at the end is her every day "I'm going to annoy the crap out of you" yell lol. But most probably don't do that, but she was abused for 3 years before we got her. So don't everyone go by my messed up little Molly lol. She has come a long way though in 9 years. She used to hang on to dear life to your finger and take chunks out of it. But who can blame her for what she had done to her! That is funny Traci! But your lucky! You can turn your sound off lol
