  1. LOL Well I know I could never invite you than to our house lol We have tons of chickens! I have no idea though how you can be afraid of them and still have birds!!!!!
  2. No I know that Tari on here has a blue quaker for sale that is about 9 months old. She breeds them but she's not in NY.
  3. OMG Tiffani that is a bad combo! How can you be afraid of chickens but have birds? lmao
  4. Oh wow! $35 was a great deal! I love it when they go out of business! I got our corner cage for our quaker which is really too big for her and sweetheart's cage which is pretty good size all for $300. Sweetheart's cage alone was suppose to be more than that. There are plenty of good deals as long as you don't need the cage tomorrow! lol
  5. lmao watchout! Honestly if you raise them in your house and the kids handle them all the time, my daughter had one that would sit on her shoulder like a parrot and she could touch all over. But the raccoons got to it! She cried for days!
  6. Ok ok girls you talked me into it! LOL But no Muse here in WV the people around here just say "Throw some extra feed to the chickens and hogs and go!" There are no such things as pet sitters around here lol. I seriously live in a very country place. The closest neighbor is a mile away and we live at the top of a Mountain with a 200 foot drop off in front. And trees all around us. As for my brother he has always done the pet sitting before. We have 5 dogs, 3 cats, 10 chickens, 8 Guineas, 1 Duck, 3 birds/parrots, 1 rabbit & 3 horses! So as it is there are already a ton for him to keep up with lol. He is extremely overwhelmed when I get back. And he has NO animals himself lol. So if I were to go, all my birds would have to stay in their cages just cause I know he would forget and fall asleep or leave the room or something and than that could be really bad! So he said he would come over and thank god I have the cages that just have the little feed doors that open. Cause our Quaker used to attack him all the time when he was trying to change her water lol. So I guess I should just be lucky he is willing to come to all this chaos! But I will go, I think they will be fine. If not they will have to forgive me eventually lol. I am the one to feed all of them!
  7. OH MY JOE!!!!!! How cute! Jessie and I just watched in amazement!! Watching them play on your bonza! How cute! And no wonder it took a long time to load it was 9 minutes long! But soo glad you have the hang of it now! Was that your girl friend? wife? daughter? Lol well I just wanted to say I loved them!!!!
  8. lol I don't know Judy about the 13th lol. I know it's bad luck for some, and what scares me is we have done soo very good these last 13 that I hope it doesn't jinx us lol. As for this coming weekend, no we are maybe looking at the following weekend. The kids go on spring break here so no one will miss school! Of course we can still meet! You just name the when and where and I'll be there!
  9. LOL Joe but no more shipping for my poor baby! That 13 hour flight was long enough to last for her lifetime! But thanks guys/gals!!! His parents always come here about 3-5 times a year, we just haven't been there in some time! I thought it would be really nice to surprise them! His parents are just awesome and I really didn't want to stay home by myself either lol. So thank you all! I think here soon before we get our other little addition (Goffin baby Casper) we will be taking off soon for the weekend. BTW we are looking at around April 18th to get our baby Goffin! That's right after my B-Day and Our 13th Anniversary!!!
  10. Ok everyone probably knows by now the progress I have finally made with SweetHeart. My question is, my husband Jessie is wanting to go visit his family for a long weekend. Leaving on a Friday and coming back on Monday morning. I can't take her cage with me cause it's too big. So if I were to take her with me, and not so sure she would like that anyway cause we haven't put her back in her carrier since that horrifying plane ride so she may freak out again. So.... If I can get my brother to come over and house sit, do you think she will be ok? Cause the problem is, I wouldn't trust him with the dogs being here to take her out of her cage and do our usual routine. Should I just stay home and stay with her? I can I guess if it's going to cause her too much stress or push us back in the progress we have made. We haven't been to see his parents in almost 2 years! They have been here but we haven't been there. Please tell me what you think???????
  11. Yes they do have very good deals on there Dan! And the cages from WPIC trading I think it is, where I got mine from, have some good sizes too and pretty cheap as you can see I didn't spend that much on mine at all and that was with shipping! And I got it here, and have to say that it isn't cheaply made at all either. It's nice and strong.
  12. Yes I will! I will have to show her the pic. But she can do anything when it comes to making something. She makes little baby outfits all the time and gives them to the hospitals for new borns and little baby blankets! It took me till I was older to really appreciate them!
  13. No problem! I found that and it does pretty much answer a bunch. Hopefully she will find it useful! I never really knew about this! And between that and Tracy informing us I think it's great!
  14. No problem! I still have an annoying little Quaker lol Good Luck to you! Keep us updated on how peanut is doing!
  15. Yes I agree, it is just amazing how technology has come and that people out there that have the knowledge will help our little fids out! Some people would just say no I'm only making this for people, than there are others with those big hearts for everything and anything and they make our world a whole lot better! It was a great story in the end!
  16. That is great DaFunkyChicken! I bet he did have fun! Nice pic of the park Joe! I can't wait till it warms up here to take SweetHeart out!
  17. That is something yvette! I knew they liked their toys lol. But not that much!
  18. Yes ouch! Those are nice though Toni! I will have to show my mom those. She can make anything if I show her! She's very handy!
  19. Yes Tracy Happy Mother's Day to you! Our isn't till the 11th! I wonder if mine will remember!
  20. Yes thank you Tracy! I never really knew about this! It was very informing! I do give sweetHeart peanuts all the time for her treats! Although she doesn't eat them, she just loves to pick them apart! Lusya sorry to hear about your bad news! Here is a link though that I found myself to learn a little more about it and it should answer most of your questions! http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=15&cat=1829&articleid=2384
  21. How old is peanut? Sounds to me like he just gets a little jealous when the attention is no longer on him. When he bites what do you do? Do you give a stern No, and than put him down? I have read allot of people do the stern No no no No bite, and than put their bird down, or usually back in the cage and turn their back on them for about 5 min. This tells them that what they just did wasn't acceptable. And hopefully they will pick up that every time I do this I get ignored for a bit and they won't do this anymore. Hopefully some more people with Macaws will come around and help you out!
  22. Tracy is AWESOME as well! We couldn't live without her either! There are just soo many to name! Didn't mean to leave you out! WE just ALL feel like family here! And not to mention you were in bed Tracy, I was trying to give Judy a hard time lol. But I love ya all! Now off to do my 1,000 posts today!!!
  23. It's weird how some people just hit it off! And pretty much seems like all of us do here, with some exceptions, that Judy, I just don't know about her. Lmao! I am soo joking! I love her to death! I don't know what I would do without her!
