Wastrox Only you can decide to clip your grey & yes there is certain clips that still allow some flight.Make sure you find a qualfied avian vet who knows the various clips available I have included a link for you to have a read through... http://www.greyforums.net/forums/african-grey/25408-the-african-grey-to-clip-or-not-to-clip.html
  3. Shanlung & Raz thank you both very much for your input on the recall & free flight training.I must admit with four greys it's something i have never considered doing as the potential danger of loosing one of my greys scares the hell out of me.It is something one should fully research & seriously consider before undertaking.
  4. Hi Wastrox & welcome to the forum, we look forward to hearing more from you.Keep up the good work with the step up, it's one of the best commands you can teach your grey
  5. you really need to approach your aunt & tell her this is not acceptable ,laughing at the biting is only reinforcing bad behaviour ,long term this may affect Ozzy's behaviour, any from of biting should be discouraged.A quiet word in her ear
  6. Hi Andy if you contact DEFRA here in the UK they will give you the advice you need.. http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/index.htm

  17. As the other's have said Biggles will be fine,if your parents are comfortable with him you wont have any worries
  18. It often takes them a while to accept new things, & six days isnt to bad.Im please he is now enjoying his stand. You wont be able to get him of it now
  19. Split rings as i said can be fitted by anyone at any age, they are also put on after a grey has been sexed by some breeders.PM the numbers if you dont want to post them on the forum, ill see if i can come up with anything for you.
  20. Well get yourself organised & you wont be sitting around all day trying to meet the deadlines
  21. You just stick at it siobhan, YES it is worth it & i admire you for doing so
  22. Im a little lost here, you have a cage for nike ? or have you purchased the one you posted ? I think greys should have as much out of cage time with the interaction of the family as possible, but equally your grey should feel happy & content in his cage, many greys like the security of their cages & they should be caged at night & when no-one is home.
  23. Does your grey have a closed ring or split ring ? A closed ring is fitted when thr grey is very young & a closed ring can be fitted at any given time, you will see if it's a closed ring as it would have been closed tightly with pliers. As you are in the UK it should have the breeders initals & the year of hatch. It may have PSUK on it as well
