Talked to the vet and Topaz is doing so well she thought she lost her. lol She went to check on her and could not find her in the incubator. So she opened the door and moved the newpaper around and there she was perched up on the side. She told me that if she keeps improving the way she it I can get her soon. Maybe in the morning.

I finally got a hold of my friend. She thinks it would be best not to let Jade suffer anymore. So as soon as the vet gets out of surgery Ill ask her to do that. Topaz is still handing in there and has a chance to recover but Jade is laying on his side and not eating. Don't think Ill be handfeding any more babies for a while. Might just pay my freind to do it.

Nope cant say I have experienced this at all. lol But Que really likes her jolly ball just not that much.

Yep Im going to run a contest. I would like for you to submit other bird stories. It can be back yard birds, front yard birds, or zoo birds. Just as long is there is not a grey in the story. lol Sorry but this is the other bird area. It can be funny, sad, cute or whatever. Must be a true story. A picture attached of the bird or a bird like it would be great too since we all love pictures. I'll be letting my husband pick the winner cause he can be objective. Ill read him the stories and let him decide the best. The winner well get a banner made by me using the picture you attach. If you don't add a picture Ill hunt one down to use of the bird your story is about. I'll give you all till the end of the month to enter your story. Good luck

To be honest I would not get one from this breeder that fast. Visit a few more time see if any of them warm up to you. My grey has never hissed at me even when she was six months old and first come home all she did was coo coo coo sounds. I don't believe I would of paid for her had she hissed/growled at me. But she is a TAG maybe that is why she never growls? Or Im just lucky. But slow down go a few more times. And good luck.

I'm not good with the writen word. Expecial for someone I have not known that long. So all I got to say is. Ya that about coverers it.

You well need two cages unless you just want birds to look at. In the same cage they well bond to each other and not you. You should be able to let them play together when they are out but need to stay in their own cages. Good Luck

Awww hun Ill do enough crying for the both of us. But really after he keeping down most the food with her meds in it this morning I feel much better. I just want results like yesterday I hate waiting for anything.

I think we may be making progess. She only lost a couple drops of the food with the medication so I feel good about the meds getting in her. Ill talk to my breeder friend see what she thinks.

Ya there are not human illness that birds catch from us. Well except insanity. We can give them that.

I must agree its sounds like you got a bad wing trim. Until the feathers grow out all you can do is keep him low. Keep him on your lap with pillows around you when you have him out. Can you put some towels or pillows in the bottom of his cage? Babies tend to just fall. It well be a while before the feathers come back but with luck they should come in just fine. Good luck

I am scared to death I'm going to lose my baby. She is still spitting up and I am not confident she is getting enough medication in her. Every time I feed her when I am done I leave the room and just cry. The green quaker is holding down the foods. But then again he never was spitting up like she was. I want her to be well now. Not two days from now. Thinking when the vet opens at 5pm Ill be at the door and see if maybe they think she needs another shot since Im not sure if enough medicaiton is getting to her. I have to keep telling myself as long as she is alive she has a chance but last thing he said when I left was to pray. Oh please I don't think I could stand it if she dies. I feel so helpless. Thanks for letting me vent.

Ahhh some parrots are closet talkers. Mine it and sounds like yours is. Not a lot you can do except maybe spend more time with him. I would also go to the vet about the feathers just to make sure all it ok. How much to you bath/mist him? To encourage play try interactive toys or you could try playing with toys in front of him and ever time he reaches for it more it away do this a couple times then offer it to him see if he takes it. Mine is not much with toys either but she loves rope and her jolly ball with lots of rope on it. Try different toys till you find something he likes. Mine does not like wood toys or bells. But like rope cloth and leather stuff. and
