Also in the light of the trolls that have been here the last couple days is there a way to put them on ignore in the IM until they are ummm dealt with? I dont want to feed them at all. lol
2. You never know a flighted bird can go a long way. I hope he/she is recovered soon.
3. You should already be offering veggies, fruit, pasta, pelles ect. Your bird well pretty much let you kno when he/she is ready to stop the baby food. Good luck.

Amazons

Anyone here have one or two? lol I have the one his name is Joey. He is wild caught I believe and about 25 -27 years old could be older but that is my best guess with the little history I have on him. I must say out of all my birds he is the sweetest. I had read all these things about amazon overload and that stick training was good for those times you can't touch your amazon. So I got my stick and started working on that. Did not work out the way I planed. Don't get me wrong he is stick trained but when I get the stick out he runs for my other hand and steps up as pretty as you please. Oh well it works. Oh and here is one of my pictures. Post edited by: Tari, at: 2007/07/17 16:43

Post edited by: Tari, at: 2007/07/17 16:45

I let my hubby feed that and they only get it from him so that they think of him as a good thing incase he ever wants to hold one. lol

Is Gatorade Safe?

It has a lot of sugar in it. I would not make it a habit.
10. here's some information from "Avian Medicine: Principles and Application- Abridged Edition" by Ritchie, Harrison and Harrison. Excessive comsumption of salt can lead to: polydipsia: excessive or abnormal thirst polyuria: excessive passage of urine depression neurologic excitement tremors opisthotonos: severe spasm in which the back arches and the head bends back and heels flex toward the back ataxia: loss of coordination death On the other hand, a deficit of sodium can also cause problems: In some parrots, sodium deificiency may play a role in some cases of self mutilation. It can also lead to: "a decrease in cardiac output", hemoconcentration: fluid is removed from the blood resulting in a higher concentration of red blood cells- thicker blood reduced utilization of protein and carbohydrates soft bones corneal keratinization: keratin (the protein that makes up hair, skin, and nails) is deposited in the cornea gonadal inactivity adrenal hypertrophy

19. I do off and on. Right now its been off cause of the sick baby. But now that things are settling down Id like to try some new stuff. I don't care for recipes the require you go somewhere other then the grocery store to get the stuff. And I have yet to find something my birds really go for. I do cornbread with all sorts of stuff in it. But nothing they seem to really like. So any cooks out there? Any suggestions?
20. I agree get that thing done so we can all relax. I am so worried about what to wear now that I can't think right. :silly:
21. I would like to start off by saying everyone of the entries were very good. My husband enjoyed them all. He was amazed at the dedication you all have for your birds. But I forced him to pick a winner and it was..... Celery and the Jawbreaker story. I made you a banner. You can use if you like or not that is up to you. Thank you all for entering your stories.
