I can't comment on the cockatiels as I have never owned any but I did want to comment on the names you picked out for them, I just love those names, Crash and Burn, how cute is that.
This will require lots of time and patience to overcome his reluctance to come out but it will happen, all in good time, just continue to do what you are doing and the advice given is real life experience so give it a go.
Di, you're not a little bit excited are ya:laugh: you would never know by your post:lol:
Thats great that you are able to visit with him every day, I was not that fortunate as I lived too far away for daily visits, but the first part of July is getting closer and closer, not too long now.
You better get some pics of Monty, we want to see the little bugger, you know how we are with the babies.
Sorry to hear you have been ill but hope you can get over this rough period in your life, you certainly have enough birds to keep you busy and occupied, how in the world do you manage all them.
You have 7 greys, my that is a lot of greys and you can count on us for help and support, all you have to do is ask. Now that you have found us again, please don't be a stranger, we love hearing from you even if you don't have a problem at the moment.
Hello Cagal08 and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new baby grey.
Sounds like you may have had a grey before since you are a longtime grey lover. Do you have any other birds right now? You must also have some handfeeding experience since you are getting an unweaned baby.
Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will do our best to find you some answers and help you in any way we can.
When you get the chance to take some pictures of your new baby if you would share some with us we would love to see him.
Well don't stress out too much over it or your grey will pick up on that, they can be very sensitive to our feelings. Take a deep breath and relax a bit, you have been preparing yourself for this and you can handle it just fine, besides we are here to help you if you need it.
Now that you mention them, ah ah ah never mind, what was I talking about, oh yeah the marbles, I got all of mine, opps, what was that rolling across the floor, oh my it looks kinda roundish............jeez:blink:

I'd say his hormones are raging in the spring, that is prime mating time and he is getting a little frustrated because he does not understand why but he does feel different.
LOL, that graphic is really funny and we know you are just joking....................I hope:huh:
Susan, you need several of those cement perches to help keep the talons filed down and to give her something else to climb on and also she can't chew them up:silly:
Amberly, when he chomps down on your finger he is testing you for your reaction, do not pull away but take the bite so he will know you are not afraid of him, it will go a long way in getting him to bond with you eventually. Then if he persists in biting you then tell him firmly "no bite" and turn your back on him, they don't like to be ignored and he will learn that biting you will make you go away.
I know you are excited about bringing this older grey home and you understand there are some issues you will have to deal with getting a mature grey but be sure to read thru as many of the threads for lots of helpful information.
In any case, after you bring Woody home and you have questions don't hesitate to ask any and all questions no matter how silly they may seem, we have heard them all before.:cheer:
Well thanks for the high recommendation and I will rent it soon, I don't get to the movies very often, even though I just went to one last Friday but that was just to take my granddaughter and was her choice of movie, I usually wait until it comes out on dvd or when it comes to the satellite movie channels.
I have noticed the same thing Lovelylew that the perches can be a little slippery, I just ordered some of that vet wrap in different colors to use for another project but I may use your suggestion and wrap the perches with some of the wrap to help with the slippery issue, thanks for the idea. B)
I never have seen the movie but I want to, I hear it is a good one, guess I will have to rent it and watch so I will know what the heck Dan is talking about:huh:
We may be whacked, every one of us but you are right there in the middle of it too, we're all grey owners so that puts you in the boat with us:woohoo:
I decided that a long, long, long time ago, in fact my ironing board probably has spider webs on it by now from non use, time is short and getting shorter by the minute, I aim to enjoy myself even if no one else does.

I'm with you Siobhan, maybe Dan can go take a shower and change his clothes, wash his hair while he is at it but it's not that easy for us women, its more involved as we have to take great pains with our hair, has to be styled just right.
I allow Josey to eat from my plate but it is on the kitchen counter so I don't end up with much of it on me. Maybe Dan will post us a pic of what he looks like after the fest the next time that Dayo has spaghetti, will ya Dan, you man enough for that:whistle:
Thanks for the heads up on your absence for a few days Laurie and try to have a good time while in Tampa but it may be hot and muggy there.
Have a safe trip and of course you are trainable, at least they think so and that is what counts.
Hello Michael and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey you are getting.
That is great that the breeder is going to allow you to participate in the feedings of your baby grey and getting to spend some time with him/her before you bring it home.
Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will do our best to find some answers and help you in any way we can.
When you do go visit with your baby if you could get some pictures to share with us as we would love to see it.
