  1. Just what exactly do you want to move about them?
  2. Yep, you find their weakness and use it to your best advantage:lol:
  3. Hello Stacey and welcome to the family, so glad you have decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey. Yes a young grey can be a little clumsy, after all they are a heavy bodied bird but they usually get over it real soon but I don't quite know what you mean by he is very clumsy, maybe he should be checked out by an avian vet, certainly part of the coming home process. When you say nippiness I imagine you are talking about mouthing you and not actually biting, greys use their beaks like we would use one of our hands, to check out things and as long as it remains just mouthing then don't sweat it but if it becomes bites then you will have to tell him no bite and turn your back on him for a bit thyen try again. For lots of useful information read thru the many threads and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will do our best to find you some answers and help you in any way we can. When you get the chance to get some pictures of Frank please share some with us as we would love to see him.
  4. She does look nice doesn't she and enjoying some time outside, thanks for sharing that with us Susan.
  5. I agree, it is adorable:kiss:
  6. I chose to not have the band put on my grey, I have it if I need it but I had heard about some birds being bothered or even harmed from them.
  7. I have the exact opposite Berna, my outside cat has the biggest feet I have ever seen on a cat but his body is not all that huge and those claws will dig right into you when he kneads on me. He follows me to the garden and rubs on me and rolls in the dirt.
  8. Very nice pic Susan, thanks for sharing that with us.
  9. I tend to agree with Berna but there could be some damage done even though the skin wasn't broken, a bite from a bird is going to pinch the skin and whatever else it gets along with it so I would tend to err on the side of caution and maybe consult a vet even if it is only a phone call. My two cents worth.
  10. Roger my Josey is a shoulder bird too, I wasn't going to allow her to shoulder perch when I first brought her home but I soon changed my mind. She does step up when I ask and I have become very familiar with her body language so I feel very comfortable with her there. It is a personal choice and I do realize the dangers but I accept full responsibility for my actions.
  11. Susan you might want to put that perch down closer to the bottom to give Chloe more head room and Josey usually ends up sitting on the food cup a lot:blink:
  12. I would love to see a picture of Forest if you would share one with us, would you be so kind:)
  13. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of the sun conure, I remembered you telling us he flew away and you hadn't seen him since, at least now you know what happened to him and you can go thru the grieving process. I know I would be devasted to lost my little Sunny but things happen and now he is over the Rainbow Bridge and you will meet him again someday.
  14. Those are some nice pictures but I too want to comment on the appearance of Loki, the breeders should be cleaning him up better than what shows in the pics, please speak with them and voice your concern, your baby's health depends on it. I don't care if she has 1000 baby birds to feed, keeping them clean is part of the job and if she can't handle it herself then she should not be doing it or she should hire some help. This is not an attack on you but you should be concerned as a bird lover, I would be.
  15. Well what you want and what you get may be two different things but I will see what I can do:unsure:
  16. Hey I found another bird but this one doesn't move much, what a cute shot of Adaya, thanks for sharing it with us.B)
  17. Congrats, its a girl, you mean you haven't named it yet, come on Jim and get busy on deciding a name for her.
  18. I would leave a bowl of pellets in his cage for munching at anytime, I partially fill a bowl for Josey of pellets for her to snack on during the day.
  19. That is good to hear Kath and what new friend did Adaya discover today?
  20. Well hello Bella's Mom, nice to meet you, nice photo of you and Bella, thanks for sharing that with us.

    bath

I hope it goes better this time but keep at it Susan.
  22. You can use anything that they love to eat, just observe what your bird loves the best and use that for treats when training and yes mine loves cheese too, she goes nuts when she sees the package come out of the fridge but you can't give them too much for they are lactose intolerant.
  23. Susan I like the one I got and it is the same one you have in the pic you showed and it is very sturdy, maybe something is wrong with the one you got. I have used it many, many times with no problem, we will chat about it later.
  24. Aww thats a shame he is so bare but he is still a beautiful bird and maybe you can get him turned around and he can be fully feathered again, I have my fingers crossed he does, thanks for sharing a couple pics of Refund.

    bath

Aww Susan I'm sorry Chloe bit you trying to give her a bath but she really needs those baths so do your best to give them to her. Josey does not like them either but she will tolerate them, at least she has so far.
