Oh my Carrie if your partner is having the same symptoms then it looks like you have the same problem as your mum. How many times a week is he given a bath? He should get thoroughly wet at least two times a week and more if the dust is a problem. Have you looked into getting an air cleaner, that might help with the dust that aggravates asthma. I commend you on taking on this grey and it sounds like you really enjoy him but if it is making your partner sick then I don't know what else to tell you except that Herby may have to be rehomed but lets see what some of the other members have to say. Some here have been thru similar situations so they will chime in with what they know. Introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you and Herby, post a pic of him if you have one as we would like to see him.

Oh boy Carolyn, you should have taken a picture of that, he was only going for what he thought was his:lol:

Thanks Siobhan for sharing these pics with us, I like Dan would like to have a little background on just what this festival is about as I am not familiar with it, is it something just observed in Ireland?

Hello Kath and welcome to the family, so glad you have decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new Tag. BTW, what is her name or have you not named her yet? She certainly is a pretty one sitting there on her perch and she looks right at home, of course you are loving it, why wouldn't you, who can resist a face like that. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will do our best to find you some answers and help you in any way we can.

Judo wrote: I think a lot of us are very busy but we manage to find a little time to check in and see what is going on with the others from time to time. You don't have to check in every day like I do but certainly a couple of times a month isn't too much to ask is it, we want to hear updates on Lola, maybe a pic now and then, thanks Will.

That is a nice playstand and your grey seems to enjoy it and that is what counts, thanks for sharing that with us.

Oh I don't know Terri, I painted my fingernails a couple of weeks ago and she about freaked out on me when she saw them, I don't usually wear nail polish. I think I will just let you be the one with a grey that has a foot fetish. :cheer:

That is a great shot Roger, thanks for sharing it with us.B)

You don't have to apoligize for the many pics you are adding to the site, we love and enjoy them so keep em coming. I like this one very much, Congo looks very serious in this shot, thanks for sharing it with us.

Yeah I call it the chicken scratch because that is what it reminds me of and Josey still does it a little but I ignore it. Terri Josey is 2 years old now too but I haven't noticed any unusual behavior yet that I could attribute to hormones but I will keep my eyes open and be prepared for it, jeez what next:blink:  :silly:

Nice pic Roger, thanks for sharing it with us, try offering all kinds of veggies, even beets:laugh: .

Hello Eve and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Lilo. You are lucky that you can work from home most of the time, wish I could, that allows you to spend lots of time with Lilo. I take my grey with me occasionally to work and I take her with me when I visit my son and his family and that is a 4+ hour drive. If you are looking for good information then look no further than the many threads that are full of good ideas and suggestions on all aspects of a grey's life and its needs. Feel free to ask any and all questions you may have and we will strive to find some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Lilo you would like to share with us we would love to see him.

Thank you so much for letting us know about your grey and glad to hear he is apparently ok, he probably wonders what all the fuss was about, another happy ending.
-
Congrats on your new acquisition and she is definitely a cutie pie, apple of momma's eye:)

I cover both my grey and my sun conure, I have done so from day one of owning them. I think they prefer it that way and I have had no problems with it. Sunny my sun conure does sleep in a happy hut and has for a long time but Josey perches on the top part of her boing. I have never provided her with a hut to see if she would use it but some of the member's greys do use one for sleeping. Whether or not you cover the cage is entirely up to you, some do and some don't, you decide.

It's never too late Kitty and I think you are probably around my age and we have it harder than the younger ones, the older you get the harder to get that extra weight off and keep it off. I am fortunate that the management at the Curves I go to are a friendly bunch and very helpful so it is a pleasure to keep going. So jump right on in here Kitty, I will give you some encouragement if you will give me some back, ok;)

Josey has never stolen any of my jewelry but she has damaged a few pairs of my earrings which is why I don't wear them around her anymore, 14k is too expensive to tear up.:pinch:

If you are going to invest in a harness get the aviator harness, it comes with a dvd that explains how it works and gives tips and instructions on how to get the bird used to it and getting it on them. We have some members who use that particular brand and like it the best of the ones on the market. We also have some threads with information in them of some of the members experiences with their grey in the harness.

OMG, but I hope that your Cag is fine now that more than several hours have lapsed since the incident but please update us on this as I will worry about this until I hear he is ok. Please introduce yourself in the welcome room after you recover from this episode so you can tell us a little more about you and this Cag.

Who does housework, my hubby has been doing the dusting the last few days, I wasn't so he did it for me;) but Josey pretty much stays on her playstand while I go from room to room, if I get out of her sight she will call at me and I will answer.

Yes I've had many cats in my time and I recently lost one that was 18 years old and she was an inside cat and would follow me all over the house, even into the bathroom. She just wanted to be near me and rub against my legs. I still have an outside cat that will follow me to the garden meowing and rubbing himself against my legs, he usually sleeps on my Jeep, cat paw prints all over the hood and maybe the windshield, that darn cat:pinch:
