  1. Looks like he does some heavy chewing on stuff, he is definitely using his beak but that is normal so don't worry about it.
  2. Congrats on bringing the baby home and usually babies adjust to a new home quicker than an older bird would, can't wait to see some more pics:P
  3. remedy wrote: You answered your own question, Carl, it will take lots of time and patience to gain his trust so please don't try to rush it. He has a new home, new cage and a new flock so he feels insecure for now but keep talking to him and ignore the squawking for now, in time he will lighten up.
  4. Jane this is weird and you should stop it now before it gets out of hand. Obviously the blood tastes good to her or she wouldn't do it but this has the potential to be a real big problem. When she goes to do this tell her no and put her back in her cage for 10 to 15 minutes and turn your back on her, in time she will come to understand that this is not acceptable behavior and she will cease.
  5. I know how you feel Di but these two days will fly by and then Monty will be home with you, and you will do fine, so don't worry about a thing, after all you have us to guide you thru the rough parts. B)
  6. That was my favorite character in Shrek and the reason I enjoyed those movies so much was to hear Eddie Murphy do that voice of. :woohoo:
  7. He will, it will be more like jibberish for a while then words will sound more clear then phrases, enjoy:P
  8. I live in Virginia and inland so we very seldom have any hurricanes but we do get some heavy rain and winds off one now and then when they come close enough but if there was any danger I would put her in her travel cage ready to get out if necessary.

  10. So far as I can tell Josey is not afraid of thunderstorms and we have had a few good ones lately, I think if I don't show any reaction or fear to them then she won't either, you know how easily they can pick up on those feelings of ours. My hubby is a turkey hunter and he says that when it thunders a tom turkey will gobble back to it like it is answering the call.
  11. I did enjoy them, seems we have another horse lover in our midst, nice pics and I especially like the muzzle shot but that one is not a horse but a jackass or donkey but then what do I know, I guess at it:laugh: Thanks for sharing them with us.

    back again!

Welcome back Beccy and Brian, we have missed you terribily, seems like you have been gone for forever, hope this means you are back to stay. A lot has happened here, we have had to take up the slack while you were gone but but you were missed by all. We have added lots of new members and probably a couple of new rooms since you were last here but we will get you caught up on what you missed. So glad to hear that Brian is doing good and talking up a storm, he is at that age when he is adding to his vocabulary big time.
  13. Rikki is a very beautiful bird and she looks real comfortable sitting there on Penny's arm, this was just fate that brought these two together, they are meant for each other, you're both so blessed.
  14. I think they are all beautiful, everyone's grey is beautiful to behold but keep sharing them pics, we never get tired of looking at and admiring each other's greys. B)
  15. I like the second one the best of the three, thanks for sharing them with us, a different look to them.B)
  16. Pat you can get a nice cherry pitter from Pampered Chef, its a stainless steel contraption and works like a charm, doesn't mash the cherries either.
  17. My hubby sometimes carries on a conversation with Josey, he will say something to her and she will answer him, he gets a kick out of that but otherwise he doesn't much care about her. She's also good at saying shutup to the sun conure when she screams, sometimes she will scream just like the conure does and then tells herself to shutup, now I get a kick out of that.
  18. Yeah, I wish we could keep them that way:huh:
  19. Congrats on Jenna starting to talk, she will amaze you with her vocabulary soon and then you may be trying to shut her up, nah never, the muttering is turning into words and phrases, enjoy:lol:
  20. I'm glad to hear Rikki is doing fine so far and Talon seems to enjoy her, lets hope it stays that way, now where are the pictures, we want pictures.
  21. Wow you are really making progress in just 10 days, this is great news, he has come a long way in such a short time, you must be doing something right. Keep up the good work Jenny.
  22. Well thats one way to get fed by your grey, she isn't spoiling you too much now is she:laugh: I have found Josey would rather suck up the juice from cantaloupe and watermelon than eat the flesh from it, so when I am enjoying some I take a spoon and get some of the juice in it and she laps it right up. B)
  23. I have both a grey and a sun conure and the conure is by far the noiser bird, unless she is going thru her vocabulary of words and phrases that she does several times a day she is relatively quiet. But then some are louder than others as they all are individuals and as such will vocalize differently. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you.
  24. It probably will molt out but enjoy it while it is there, looks nice, thanks for sharing those pics with us so we can see it.B)
  25. Thanks, thats a relief for I thought if I didn't post enough I would get kicked off, guess I can slow down a bit then huh:laugh:
