In the meantime read all you can to prepare yourself for that eventful day when you actually get to bring him home. The excitement is kinda like waiting for Christmas morning.

Congrats Rachel and I have hadmy Josey for over 2 years now and she is an amazing creature, I love her more and more every day if that is possible, of course it is.
  3. Please do Rachel as we love to watch the little ones grow and develop and it happens so rapidly almost right before your eyes.
  4. Hello Rachel and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new baby grey. Those are two precious looking baby Cags in that picture and I assume one of them is yours, bet you wish both of them were. You have come to the right place looking for lots of useful information as our threads are full of helful advice, just read thru them and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. I am sure once you get your baby home you will come up with a suitable name for him/her, sometimes you just have to have a couple of days to see some of their personality come out and a name just seems to pop right into your head.
  5. I used to be one of those sufferers but not anymore, thanks for the info.:pinch:
  6. Sometimes when greys really like you they will do the head bobbing and bring up a little food from their crop, they are trying to feed you and it is a sign of affection, that is what I was talking about.

  8. Oh that is a good one Dan, you must have worked overtime on that one. {Feel-good-0002006E}
  9. Wes, why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us some more about you and Wes.
  10. Most greys do enjoy having their beaks stroked as does mine and the head bobbing is just something they do occasionally. Does he bring up a little present for you when he does this?
  11. Dave is right, you have Pumpkin spoiled absolutely rotten, you need to get some backbone Heather.
  12. Well Nikki its nice of you to drop in even if you solved your own problem, come back again real soon even if you don't have a problem, we like hearing from you.
  13. Hello Lisa and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Kiki. He needs some time to settle in since he has only been with you for a few days, greys are very cautious birds and take some time to get adjusted to a new home. Some greys do not allow much touching and maybe not until they feel more comfortable with you and you have to earn their trust so be patient with him and see what happens in the coming weeks and months. Most of them will be scared of wooden perches when you try to get them to step up on one and if that is how he reacts then leave it and offer the back of your hand when balled up in a fist, he won't be able to get a firm grip to bite you that way. Think long and hard before you clip his wings as it takes a long time for them to grow out, most of us usually like to leave them unclipped so they can fly as that is what comes natural. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Kiki you would like to share with us we would love to see him.
  14. Aww, Chico is such a sweetie pie, he is adorable but then I am biased, I think all the greys are adorable, thanks Dan for sharing him with us.
  15. Thank you Dan, its just one of my many talents, love you too.
  16. Thanks Berna for the pictures, they do show the differences and size comparison in Tags and Cags.
  17. Hello Bowtie and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Timmy. Must be nice to be retired, I am 58 and it looks like I will be working for the remainder of my days with things like they are but that is another story. You have certainly come to the right place as we have many members who will chime in with their advice and they do know what they are talking about as some have had greys for many many years. You will also find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Timmy you would like to share with us we would love to see them.
  18. Berna, I don't envy your job any longer as I would not be so nice, does the word HANG come to mind, it does to me, this would make me so mad:angry:
  19. Thats just not right:angry:
  20. Who me, I don't think so Berna, I'm not making that mistake again, know what I mean:dry:
  21. Berna you won't see anything for he didn't get the conure, they sold it to someone else:angry:
  22. She better come back from over that moon, glad to hear things are going good for you and Chico, hope it stays that way but there is always some bumps in the road but then again maybe it will stay smooth sailing. Can't wait to see some pictures.
  23. I would imagine you will hear some stuff that she learned from her former home and she will add more from your home, just wait until you hear her laugh like you, my Josey does that, its really funny when you hear yourself laugh and you got your mouth closed.
  24. Mandy, just be patient and good things will come.
  25. Mandy you have plenty of time yet for Lilo to talk, she may be still getting used to being in your home and some may take a couple of years before they talk. I know that a few will never talk, there is no guarantee they do but most all will talk but just keep talking to her and I imagine that in time she will start talking your head off, just be patient.
