Hi all..my old username was Liloforever
judygram replied to LilosMom's topic in Welcome & Introduction Room
Welcome back Eve, I will save the spiel I give for the new members since you have heard it before but glad to have you back, its funny as we just had another member who rejoined under a new name for the exact same reason. I really do love that pose of Lilo, he looks so relaxed and comfortable, share some more pics of him if you like, you know how much we love pictures here. -
I know, I figured it out after I posted but yes it would help others to know you are an older member back under a new name, thanks.

Occasional and moderation is the two key words here it seems, not that I am saying giving dogs chocolate is ok for its not but as with foods we as humans should avoid it is ok to indulge occasionally and just a moderate amount is fine, it is when we do it more often and in larger quantities we get in trouble for it. I look forward to hearing any more you find out about this subject Penny and Erika.

Hello Eve, glad to have you back with us, sorry you forgot your password to your former sign in but it happens. LilosMom is LiloForever and she has been here for a while now but glad you are joining in again, don't forget it this time, ok.
-
James I am so proud of you, you did an excellent job on this net and it looks professional too, maybe you should think of doing this as a part time job, I would order one. Thanks for sharing it with us and maybe you could give some more detailed instructions for the crafty ones to make one for their greys.
-
LilosMom, I love your avatar and I see this is your first post, why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us some more about you and Lilo.
-
I would just gradually decrease the amount of ultimate blend and proportionately increase the Harrisons over a period of time until all Harrisons is in the bowl, of course this will take weeks or maybe months but its that simple, easy as pie.
-
I was going to say how do you tell them apart but one has a red band on the leg and the other has no band that I can see but of course you would know the difference, daddy knows his babies, thanks for sharing them with us, they are adorable.
-
Thank you so much Penny for posting this link and the information on lactose for us to read for ourselves, it answers the questions that always pop up about birds and giving them dairy products or lactose free foods.
-
Share them with us then as we would love to see them.
-
 Now get back to work:whistle:

Well congrats on your new baby girl, Winry showing up a little early but then they tend to have a mind of their own, sorry you had to have a c-section as it makes for a slower recovery but if she is healthy then that is all that matters. I see you are seeing things from a little different perspective now that your baby is here but things may look grim at this point but give it some time, Starbucks will forgive you for less time spent with him right now. I know you will find a way to have her out of her cage some every day and do make that time very special as quality matters more than quanity. Please keep us updated as time goes by but I am guessing that soon you will have a routine down with both and things will go back to a more normal schedule. In any case let us know how you are doing and if we can be of any help to you.

That is so sweet to hear Berna, you do have a way with those finches and I am sure he did know you were only helping him, you have such a big heart. Good to see you back with us so don't make a stranger of yourself now ya hear:whistle:
-
OMG Berna, you got more guts than I do, I would have never considered amputating an appendage like that myself, I don't have the stomach for it. The poor little thing, this is why they should not have to wear those bands, it cost this little finch his leg. You are such a good birdie momma and your birds are so lucky to have you. Thanks for sharing this story with us and the pic to show us what is left, and they can and do adapt to having only one leg and I bet he is a happy little fella now that the infection is gone. Karma coming your way Berna.
-
Well by golly, she does exist, glad to see you Berna as you have gone missing for a while, hope you had a good Christmas and the New Year is off to a great start for you and Elmo. Loved your videos, that Elmo is a character, thanks so much for sharing them with us and don't stay away so long for we missed you.
-
I had hoped this nightmare would have resolved itself by now but that is not the case, my gosh I cannot imagine how Kim must feel, go without food and liquid, be fed intravenously, lay in a hospital doing without the company of Dayo who misses her terribly and to top it all off today is her birthday. Thank you so much Dan for taking a few minutes to update us, you know we care for the both of you so much and want nothing but the best for you. Poor Dayo will go nuts when his mommy is finally home and I pray that day comes soon. She will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers and my love goes out to both of you.
-
Thanks for the update Steph and I am hoping it is not serious and it sounds like it isn't but at least you will find out. Eating like horses sounds good, at least they have a hearty appetite. I look forward to hearing from you with what you find out.
-
Well welcome back Raiderbabe and try remembering your password this time or at least write it down somewhere so you will have it if you need it:whistle:
-
Thanks Deb for giving your business to parrot_fever and they usually do include some little token toy with a purchase, I need to get me another bag of Harrisons but I will just call them and have them bring it with them to the club meeting, saves me shipping costs and of course I get my discount off too.
-
Nice flock Erika, they are all nice healthy looking birds and I am sure there is never a dull moment in the house, thanks for sharing them with us.
-
He is a handsome fella, thanks for sharing him with us.

I would say if the seeds are soaked then they need to be removed after a couple of hours as they will quickly spoil and turn sour. Why not try offering the seed unsoaked, sunflower and corn do not need soaking, they can eat them just fine like they are, their beaks are capable of cracking open the shell. I would go easy on the fruit, offer more different kinds of vegetables with a little fruit, I know a lot of them may prefer the fruit but there are more nutrients in the veggies than the fruit. Pellets should be a part of your parrot's diet also and most any brand is good even though some of us swear by Harrisons. If you have some pictures of these two birds please share some with us, we would love to see them both.

Hello Shah and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your grey. You don't tell us much so we are going to have to ask you some questions so we can get to know you. Is he your first grey, your first parrot? Do you have any other birds or pets? What is his name and how old is he? How long have you had him? You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so read thru them at your leisure and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of him you would like to share with us we would love to see him.
-
Thanks Lisa for sharing your story with us and I bet you have many more you could tell about your adventures with your greys, maybe you can indulge us sometime with more of them.
-
Thats a lot better Janet, thanks.
