We haven't heard anything from Dan now for a couple of days, wonder if they had to do surgery to get the capsule out, hope not, maybe Dan will be in soon to update us on Kim's condition, the poor dear. I hope Dan is on soon to tell us she passed it without incident and is home recuperating, fingers crossed that she is just that.

You know it would help to view them better if they were arranged top to bottom instead of from left to right, Janet, could you fix that for us please? Thanks:ohmy:

Hello Lisa and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Sydney, Stirling and Dear Emma Lynn. Wow you have had greys for 18 years and other birds for almost 33, I think that qualifies you to be sort of an expert in my opinion. I am a member of a bird club in my area too, nice that you could start some in your area for they are a big help to us with our birds and we have some fun in the process. We have a lot of threads with useful information but I doubt that you need it, you could probably tell us some things we don't already know but you are welcome to read thru them for bits and pieces. Glad to hear you work along side rescues as you are so right, there is such a need for it. If you have some pictures of your three greys you would like to share with us we would love to see them.

I used to Erika a long time ago but I gave it up and haven't watched any now for years but you do get addicted to them. I grew up watching them with my Mom and continued on after I got married, we watched As the World Turns and then later I got hooked on Young and the Restless but haven't watched it for a long time now.

Yep, peanuts and cheddar cheese are their two favorite things they go nuts over. I'm a mite fond of them myself but I like the salted variety so I have to buy the unsalted for them.

I would think they would be fine, they probably stayed on the eggs all night so they never got cold and if the male was fine this morning in all likelihood she was too. I wouldn't think that 48 degrees was so awfully cold as I know you all have sometimes experienced temperatures in the 30's but I am guessing they were all fine.

Yes some of our members are very handy with making toys and perches and have shared some pictures of what they have made that helps the ones like me who are less crafty. Some of the pvc ones are real works of art in my opinion.

Yes my birds are so happy now that they have their peanuts back for what nuts they do like they go nuts over them:blush:

Yes it is something that greys do and you can easily see it around the eyes since their feathers are white and you can actually see the skin. Not exactly sure why they do it but they do and it is adorable isn't it but normal.

Thanks Steve for sharing that video with us, simply amazing. :woohoo:

I can't wait to see Ozzie, hmmmmmmmm wonder if there ever will be a Harriet, oh never mind.

Caroline's heat and hot water is back on I am glad to report, poor dear will take a while to warm herself up though I would imagine.

Thanks so much Dave for coming thru with the information we needed, I knew I could count on you and you never disappoint me.

Well its good to hear from you again and I love your little story of Keena, I mean Houdini:laugh: yes some of them are escape artists and good at it, glad you found a solution, Josey is either not that smart or just hasn't bothered to try to escape. Now that remark is the icing on the cake, "Whoa" I would have been rolling around on the floor laughing at that one, thanks for sharing this with us and be sure to come back more often as we have missed you.

Boy they have really grown haven't they Jen and are so adorable, you can only tell them from Lyric by the eyes. I don't evny your task of finding them some good homes for I would have to think long and hard before I gave them up to someone else. You have raised some nice looking babies and should be very proud of yourself, pat yourself on the back for me.

Not the best choice of a box for Echo to tear up:S but that is one way to dispose of it, I am not a smoker so I would have no boxes like that but that is a good picture of him, maybe he is trying to send you a message, you can read it on the side of the box:whistle: in any case, thanks for sharing it with us.

They should be Erika but we need to hear from Dr Flock, I mean Dave to find out whether they are safe for our fids.
-
That is the same that I have heard too, that breeder greys are not pets and vice versa and that may be the norm but there are exceptions to every rule and your breeder may have an exception. I would be interested to hear what Dave has to say to this.

It really is amazing how animals are drawn to certain people. I mean greys choose who they want as their favorites but it is uncanny how some people just seem to be animal magnets. Now I am not one of these people but I do know people who are this way.

Hello Hayley and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your two greys. What are your grey's names? I would house them in their own separate cages and let them get used to each other and being in the same room, they may or may not want to have anything to do with each other. Greys are flock animals but they usually like their own space and their cage is their sanctuary and they may guard it diligently. Since the male grey was the first one in your household I would always do things for him first so he knows his place. Some will take the addition of another bird better if they know they come first but they may never get along no matter what you do. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of these two greys you would like to share with us we would love to see them.

Hello Paul and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this grey you want to get. You did come to the right place for info concerning all aspects of grey ownership, we have many members who have a wealth of knowledge about them and are willing to share what they know with everyone. I am sorry about your dad but the inheritance is what he wanted for you and what better way to honor him than by doing what you have always wanted to do, share your life with one of these amazing creatures. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. I agree, the internet is full of information but some of it is unreliable but we won't steer you wrong here.

They probably are Kimberly but you still have a flame to worry about.

You're not going to get much heat off a candle, besides candles are not allowed around greys, if you weren't an ocean away you could come to my house, I have 2 fireplaces that would keep you toasty warm.

Hello Stephanie and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this baby grey. Yes you do have a baby grey, a young baby grey and thanks so much for including a pic of your baby, we all love to admire the babies, they are so adorable and you are a very pretty girl too. As we discussed the bump in another thread I hope it turns out to be nothing serious but only an avian vet can find out for sure so please let us know when you find out. You are so lucky to have a mom who was a vet and knows so much already, was she an avian vet or just an ordinary vet who treated dogs and cats? Not that you need it but we have lots of useful information in our many threads and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Thanks for sharing those pics with us and please post some in the nursery room and update them as your baby grows for they grow so quickly.
