  1. I don't right now as I am at work, shhh, don't tell anyone:whistle: I will get one when I get home but if you already have something then by all means get the ball rolling.
  2. Thats an excellent idea Sue, would be a great thread, karma for you for thinking of it.
  3. Hello JungleDreamz and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new grey. You are not excited are you:laugh: I don't blame you, we all were, this is a life changing experience, you have chosen a lifetime companion. You are right, some greys do not ever talk but the vast majority do so the chances yours will is great but they are awesome creatures even if they never talked. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisire and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. When you get some pictures of this grey you have found we would love to see them.
  4. George Clooney If you could pick any city in the world to live, what city would you pick?
  5. I will have to see where I got mine and let you all know, I also have another one that says "bird"
  6. Thanks Toni for that link, they would be a cinch to make but with those of us who work and haven't the time we could order these. I bet Carol could whip up a bunch of these in no time.
  7. Soon, soon you say, I want to see pictures now!!! {Feel-bad-0002006A}
  8. Yes that sounds about right, some take longer or some may do it sooner, it depends on the individual bird. I still need a depend when I see this thread:blush:
  9. Mali is nice, I like that name Wendy and I bet he gets used to it real soon too.
  10. Congrats on getting your grey tomorrow and I hope one of them picks you, if it does that is the one. You don't mention a cage but I am assuming you have one, thats about all I can see you didn't mention, I think you are all set, bet you hardly sleep tonight.

  12. You are young and have plenty of time to save your money for the necessary things you will need when you get your grey and by then you will know all you need to know to properly care for your forever companion. Stay in touch with us and ask all the questions you have, we are here any time for you.
  13. Yes he does Brittany, he is a real camera ham, that is so cute of him jabbering and hamming it up for the camera even reguritating for you, he isn't shy at all, thanks for sharing those videos with us.
  14. No for there are going to be times your grey will have to be in a cage for its own safety. There are too many dangers it can get into when no one is around.
  15. There are no "dumb" questions, feel free to ask us anything, better to ask now before you get your bird than later so you can be prepared.
  16. Oh they aren't coming to a close, she is just getting started, you better watch out world for Penny is on her way!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
  17. Aww look how precious he/she is, I know you are having the time of your life Pat, wanna give him up now:blink: I thought not:whistle: thanks for sharing some pictures of the little bugger with us.
  18. Yeah give him some more time to settle in but in any case do not make a big deal of his plucking, just ignore it for your reaction to it may only encourage him to continue. Thats great that you made him some toys, make some of them some type of foraging toy to make him have to work for some of his treats.
  19. Greys are known for being one of the quieter parrots unlike cockatoos and macaws, even my sun conure is louder than my grey so noise is not a problem and once Josey goes to bed I don't hear a peep out of her all night. You do need a proper parrot cage, I don't know what kind of metal is used in that cage you have but if it has any zinc in it you cannot use it for greys, it will poison them. You need a powder coated cage that is big enough for your bird to open its wings and flap without touching the sides.
  20. Ian you might have to settle for just allowing him to sit on your hand and not touch him, he prefers your wife over you and there is not much you can do about that. Maybe you can offer and give him treats so he associates those with you. Greys are known for having a favorite person who they will allow to do most anything to them and anybody else gets a cold shoulder but you two can still have a good relationship, just not like the one he has with your wife.
  21. That is such a heartwarming story of Louie, poor thing was abused, how anyone could cause enough harm to break their bones is beyond me, but he is blossoming now due to your love and attention. Thanks for sharing that with us.
  22. Hello Louiesdad and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Louie. Do you still have the other two cags? Do you know of Louie's history or much about his previous owners? Thats wonderful that you could adopt an older cag as there are so many out there in need of good homes due to people who thought they wanted one until they got one and then found out a grey is not for them. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Would you share some pictures of Louie with us as we would love to see him.
  23. Fang and Slash are some interesting names, lets hope if you by chance pick one of them that it is not because it is appropriate.
  24. Greys love to hang upside down and do things, I noticed the last time I took Josey with me to visit my son that she would hang upside down holding on with one leg and play tough with her bell. They can get very mad at their toys and especially bells at least Josey does but it is all in play.
