Sid needs to come back and tell us some more about what is going on with the grey and introduce his/herself in the welcome room, just that one statement doesn't tell us much.

Like Dave said in so many words you cannot bond with your bird by giving it handfeeding formula, that is for very young babies. You bond with your bird by treating it with kindness, providing for its needs, spending time with it and behaving consistently so that it learns to trust you and then the bonding comes right after. This happens very quickly in a very young bird but an older bird will take longer, sometimes much longer since it has had relationships with other people before coming to you. So that "SPECIAL" bond you missed, forgetabouutit, you haven't missed anything, you have to make it happen all by yourself.

Sarah, greys will pick up all kinds of sounds and loud screeches are one of them, Josey, my grey also will do some loud screeches from time to time but I ignore it for the most part. They are going to do what they are going to do. Thats great that he came out of the cage on his own but don't give him any food or water outside of the cage and he will have to go back in to eat or drink, problem solved. Don't be afraid of asking all the questions you want or need to, we don't mind and how else are you gonna find out, thats what we are here for.

If your breeder says they will bond with you as well as being bonded with each other then I would believe her, she should know and I think we have other members here who have more than one grey and they had no problem with them bonding with their human companion. Thats my opinion so take it for what its worth.

A woman with an attitude, I love it, she will make an awesome addition along with her big brother, I am tickled to death that you are going to get both babies, they should make a fine addition to your household and bring many years of happiness to you and your family. I can't wait to see more pictures when you get them, you are one lucky lady and so blessed.

I know we have some others here who have more than one grey and they bonded with their humans, I don't think you will have a problem with them not bonding with you Carol.
