What a turnaround, that Harvey is keeping you guessing, don't get too comfortable with him as you never know when the little monster will make another appearance but enjoy him for now.

I think Paco is going thru an early molt and if it was a clipped feather then a new one will appear and he will eventually be able to fly, oh happy days.

I am a fairly new bird person myself, I grew up on a farm and only had dogs and cats for pets though we had a couple of parakeets at one time. My son gave me a pair of finches one year for Christmas and then I was hooked but wanted a larger bird that I could handle and I got my sun conure, she whetted my appetite for a larger bird and hence I have my grey.

What goes up must come down but what is amazing to me is Julie said the sky looked clear, that to be outside it was as if nothing was amiss but it was high in the sky where they can't see it, high up where the planes have to travel. The fallout must be like the pollen here that is covering everything right now, spring is in full bloom.

You are the second member in the last few days to mention having ridgebacks, just what kind of dog is that and maybe when you post some pictures you could include one of your dogs so we may see what they look like. Plain old soap and water will do the trick but the white vinegar and water works wonders, Poop Off is just a gimmick and plain old elbow grease works well too!

I chose not to have Josey microchipped and I also chose to not have the band put on her leg, I have read the stories about them getting the band caught on something and injured themselves, I have it in my possession but it proves to be an irritant to them sometimes and then has to be cut off, why have it in the first place.

Thats wonderful that you were able to take Sky and give her a better life and since she has known you all her life it is easier for her. You are right to take it slow and easy with her, she will learn to trust you in her good time and pushing it will only backfire on you. Trust has to be earned and patience is your best virtue. I guess they all could be "buttheads" at times, some more so than others so you have good company here. I am assuming this is your first bird too and it can be overwhelming at times but there are many knowledgeable members here who are willing to help you in any way they can, all you have to do is ask. Why don't you tell us some more about butthead, opps I mean Obi and share some pictures too if you have any.

I have a sun conure that sits on my shoulder almost all of the time she is out of her cage and my grey sits there for short periods and she has always been allowed to shoulder sit because for one thing she will come down when I ask and she doesn't nip me or otherwise misbehave when there. As you get more familiar with your new grey and see more of the personality then you can make the choice to allow or not allow shoulder sitting as some just do not belong there.
