  1. Sachi really is a beautiful bird with lovely coloring that seems to brighten up in the sunshine, no wonder she is so special to you, of course Emma is no slouch either, they are both two gorgeous birds.
  2. My suggestion is maybe it is time to get a new cage, there are some good ones out there that may cost you a bundle but will do the job, I am lucky that my grey is not an escape artist but do a little research to find a cage that will serve your purposes.
  3. They can pick up the most annoying sounds, I will have to look up just what Jackdaws are, never heard of them.
  4. What lovely countryside you have Jules, you will have to share some more of it when you get the chance as I want to see it all.
  5. Happy Hatchday Dayo, may you have many many more yet to come.
  6. Thats a good price on that hyacinth macaw as those can easily go $12,000 to $15,000 each but that is too much bird for me but they are awesome looking, thanks for sharing the pics with us.
  7. Hello Cynthia and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you, Merryweather and Boris, interesting names for your greys. Thats great that you could take in this 6 year old grey, maybe you could tell us the story behind how you came to get him if you don't mind. You will learn a lot here by reading thru the many threads and we have many knowledgeable members who are willing to share what they know, please ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Thanks for sharing a couple of pics of your greys.
  8. I do hope and pray that you find her Marion but never give up, I feel you will get her back so just keep doing what you are doing and keep us informed.
  9. That Alfie is too smart for his own good, thanks for the laugh Lyn.
  10. Oh my, I am so sorry to hear of your loss but I couldn't imagine a graham cracker could cause death for a grey unless like Dave said it got stuck in his throat, you must be devastated but why not talk to your vet about it. Please accept my condolenses on your loss.
  11. Hello Carriekinz and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new to you grey. I'm sorry about the former owner but this is good news for you and I believe you will give this bird a good home, a good forever home. Do not worry too much, some here have greys that hold grudges but usually not for long, just be patient with him but it seems like he has given the thumbs up on his new home. Yes by all means do read thru as many of the threads here as you can for you will find lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. You do not need to be in any rush to rename this grey and he will learn a new name quickly enough, maybe something in his personality will trigger a name but in the meantime if you have some pictures you would share with us we would love to see him.
  12. Jay you looked like you were in "hog" heaven, thanks for the pics.
  13. Issac is such a fine looking grey and so lucky to have a devoted dad who caters to his every whim, another couple of greyt pictures, thanks for sharing them.
  14. I am sure I head Maggie say it was ok Jay, knock yourself out!!
  15. I have no problem since I keep my hair cut short and permed, I don't need hair bands.
  16. Oh Adina that was so enjoyable and she was not aware the camera was going so she let loose with lots of sayings, loved how she swung from side to side near the end hanging by one foot, she is quite the entertainer, you must be so proud of her, thanks for sharing it with us, wouldn't have missed this one.
  17. Hello Jacarual and welcome to our family, so nice you could finally join us after lurking for so long but didn't you learn a lot. I assume Noogie is your grey's name, thats a very cute name and the first one I have heard called that and we have heard some good ones here as you can imagine. You have quite a flock going and it must keep you busy cleaning cages, feeding and such and they require lots of attention especially the too. I look forward to seeing the pictures when you get the chance.
  18. Hello JD and welcome to our family. I have an almost 4 year old female and she is bonded to me and pretty much a one person grey, she is somewhat friendly with my hubby but he can't handle her like I can. It has to do with the personality of the bird and somewhat of how they are socialized and mine didn't meet too many people to start off with. I don't think it matters what sex they are as far as size, mine weighs around 425 grams but she is not the smallest grey nor the largest. I only have one grey but we do have many members who have two, three and four or more and maybe some of them will come along and give you some advice.
  19. That is one amazing grey Dan, really makes you sit back and be in awe of them.
  20. Charles if Syd is flighted then you should be careful of taking him outside unless he is in a cage or on a harness, even if he is clipped he could be startled and still fly. He sounds like an amazing grey, why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us more about you and Syd.
  21. Robin you wilol have to be more sneaky if you want to catch Dixie dancing but the commentary was great, thanks for sharing it.
  22. It was just a stray feather that landed on her head and she managed to get a pic of it, makes for a wonderful picture.
  23. Hello MrJayd, I use the seed catchers on my bird's cages, they help to catch some of the stuff they drop and even catch some of the poops when they are on the top of the cage, yes sometimes seeds and such will bounce off but I think it catches more than bounces. Please do make a thread in the welcome room and tell us some more about you and your erey.
  24. Oh go ahead and ask for a little kissie Jill, you can handle it, Harvey is so handsome there with his chili pepper.
